These shoes are great for people who wear orthotics and want a sandal type of shoe for spring and summer. The closed back keeps the orthotics in place. They are also very comfortable and offer good support for people who do a lot of walking. I hope to see more closed back shoes from Keen.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. From the minute you try them on, you'll feel what I'm talking about. They're rugged enough for hiking, but the sandal itself is lightweight and it doesn't feel like you're wearing a shoe. No rubbing in certain spots, just a great fit. I've worn Lands End Trekkers in the past and these are far superior in fit and comfort.

I love these shoes! They protect the heel and toes. They feel so comfortable that I forget I am wearing them for hiking in wet woods, wet grass and sailing.

Owyhee's do not look as expensive as other Keens I have owned, but the comfort can't be beat. I always go up a half size in Keens. They have a more flexible sole than most Keen's. They run a little narrower than most Keen's which is good for me.

I love these shoes! I primarily wear them when I am working in the garden. The protected toe is great. When it gets really hot I stand in a stream with them; it cools my feet and the Keen’s dry quickly. I ordered my regular size. They run a bit big, but I wanted to be able to wear socks when the days are not warm.

A wonderful, comfortable shoe. Purchased a couple weeks before a trip to Italy. These are the only shoes I took, wore them every day without socks. First time I have not had blisters, or other issues with shoes while traveling. I selected this Keen particularly as the heel/back is closed, but vented. Owyhee is a fantastic lightweight shoe!

Like all Keen shoes they were comfortable right out of the box. I bought them for a trip to Greece and Italy and wore them immediately. They also had enough of a heel to put my orthotics in them, something you can't do easily with traditional sandals.

Everything about this shoe is perfect for its intended use, water to trail. Held up to the Bora Bora coral reefs and on the Pacific Northwest trails. Love them! And thanks to Zappos' amazing service, received them the day after ordering!

First of all, I just can't say enough about Zappos service. I ordered these at 11:37am on a Saturday and had them on my feet by 11:40am on Monday. No one elses service matches that unless you pay for expedited shipping. Love it! Now the shoe. I ordered the Slate Black and Coral in a 10 1/2. Look The first thing I noticed is the color. The shoe looks brown in the picture because it really is brown. There is nothing slate black about it. I immediately thought of sending them back and getting the real black version, but I decided that light blue would be harder to make look clean after a while than this coral would. Fit My feet are not quite "narrow", but close. My ankles are definitely skinny. I also have had a double bunionectomy and so feet are temperamental without my orthodics. This is my 2nd pair of Keens but my other pair are boots. I was concerned that these would be too big since I don't plan on wearing thick hiking socks or orthodics with them. I took a leap of faith and went for the same size anyway. They are a good fit. They felt a little big at first, but with the drawstring they fit fine. Since the surgery I don't like my shoes too tight around my arch or my toes too close to the shoe lining. Plus who really wants a good pedicure rubbed off by their shoe? Note: when the drawstring is pulled, the neoprene around the ankles does look bunched up. It doesn't impact feel so far, it's just not that attractive. I also recently bought a pair of shoes very similar to these from the big red bulls eye department store for a third of the price. I pulled those out to compare. Here is what I found. Weight: hands down, the Keens are lighter. Protection: Keens have heel protection, the others don't. The Keens have mesh sewn in for breath-ability and water drainage, where there is nothing to protect the heel on the cheapies. The Keens rubber toe comes around the tops of the toes more, but they have the same hardness. The Keens expose more of the skin on top of the foot. I'm sure funny tan lines will be an issue, but I'm hoping the shoe won't feel as wet as the cheapies do with all its neoprene on top. This also makes the Keens feel cooler. The bottom sole on the Keen comes up a little higher and I think will do a better job at protecting the feet. Comfort: They feel very similar on the foot bed, I'm sure both brands will give blisters when worn for several days straight with no socks, in and out of sand and water. The Keens have neoprene lining on the straps so they feel soft enough. The cheapies have a higher arch support, so that may or may not be OK with your feet. I need good arch support, but so far the Keens are OK. Overall I'm satisfied with this shoe. I would be very happy if they were more black than brown, but I can live with it.

Very comfortable out of the box. Started wearing them all day immediately. Needed a sandal that would fit my orthotics, these work great!

These are the best outdoor shoes ever! I wore these shoes climbing Mayan Ruins in Belize as well as climbing on reefs at the beach. I also hiked up a mountain in these to go rock climbing (used for the hike not the rock climb). They are so comfortable and they can be used for so many outdoor adventures. I wish all shoes fit like this one. They are also easy to wash and they dry quickly.

As usual, these Keen sandal shoes felt like you'd worn them before, very comfortable fit, and good support on the trail\/roadway.

These shoes are amazing! I got them especially for a trip to Israel in the summer and they did the trick. They are great for hiking on dry land or in water. They held up pretty well so far during the three months that I have been using them fairly often. I tried the Keen Whisper shoes as well as other hiking shoes but found these more comfortable and more reasonably priced. Also they are pretty stylish as well. I plan on getting another pair to have in case my current ones get worn out.

I really like these Keen sandals. I am just back from a week of camping and it worked great in the rainy conditions. The sandals dried fast and were comfortable even when wet.

Very comfortable. Haven't put it through the paces but am looking forward to hiking, rafting, camping, biking. I'll keep you posted. Zappos, you rock! These got here in less time than it would have taken me to pick them up at the local REI!

Very impressed with this shoe! I've been eyeing this style of Keen shoe for quite some time & finally ordered a pair & boy are they worth it. Very comfortable & well built. And I love the color combo of this shoe. Fits true to size.

Really stylish shoe. Keeps my feet really cool, which has been great with this record breaking heat temps this year. Foot bed is not nearly as comfortable as my pair of Teva sandles. Really light weight, great quality. Would proably purchase the Teva's again over this shoe just because the footbed on the Teva is like walking on a cloud.

These shoes fit nice and wide across the ball of my foot. Easily adjusted tightness, immediate comfort. I expected to catch a lot of stones, but haven’t been a problem. I wear them a lot on sandy trails. Get some sand in them, but that’s true for any shoes I wear, except high-top boots. These are wonderful shoes!

These sandals are great! As are all of the Keens that I have had. They are lightweight, very supportive and good traction on soles and with being waterproof what more could you ask for? They are good for wide feet such as mine.

100% satisfied with Zappos service. 90% satisfied with actual product. With an arch support built into the shoe, I would be 100% satisfied.

Keen took the foot-hugging support of the Newport H2 and the thinner, breathable straps of the Whisper and created the Owyhee. Great idea! I think this one's a winner and look forward to wearing it through wet grass and on lots of woodland trails throughout the summer and fall. Love the dark brown/coral color.

Love this shoe! Pros: comfort, durability. Cons: takes a long time to dry after wearing in water.

These were the first pair of Keens I have owned. They are the most comfortable summer shoes I have ever worn. Took them on vacation to AZ and wore them right out of the box. Came home and ordered another pair in a different color. I can wear them all day and my feet and legs never hurt. I have a lot of trouble with summer sandals causing the skin on my heels to crack. Not these! Keen has now become my first choice in shoes. Can't wait to try the fall and winter styles. I always look on Zappos first when buying shoes. Their selection can't be beat. Great customer service, too!

Looks like, fits like, smells like a Keen. The thinner straps on the foot make for great ventilation, and the fabric panel between the heel strap and sole is a good safety upgrade (sticks and such).

Great shoes! Most comfortable and stylish for summer! Very light weight on your feet.
