Awesome shoe! However, I highly recommend you do not wear these shoes if you are planning an all terrain hiking. The sole is extremely slippery when wet, especially if you walk across larger rocks. I took these puppies for a 5 hour hike around waterfalls in Costa Rica and they were very unstable when I got them wet on some of the larger rocks, they constantly slipped out from under me. Also, I don't recommend you go barefoot in them for many long hikes, they have a mesh across the toes that after a while starts to rub your toes like a piece of sandpaper. When not hiking I wear them around the house and absolutely love them, probably won't wear them for any more hikes though...

I bought these shoes about 5 years ago as water shoes for a surf/adventure trip to Indonesia. I wore them a couple times, they were fine, and then they I didn't wear them for almost 6 months. Then I pulled them back out and started wearing 'em with socks and have worn them for almost everything except work ever since. They're incredibly versatile and may be the shoes I've worn the most ever. The only thing they're not good for is warmth (but with wool socks also great). Highly recommended and they have a generous toe box (not-tight).

Very nice shoe. Drains water super fast. I compared with my other purchase of the North Face Hydro Sport. It did not drain well at all. I will be sending that one back.

The best water shoe I've had for boating, and also barefoot fishing. Highly recommended. Good traction. Sizing seems right with socks, so ended up going 1/2 size down for barefoot fit.

Amazing shoe. I have used it at the lake and at the beach and is a great shoe to protect your feet and help maintain traction. Very comfortable shoe and it maintains its shape in the water. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality water shoe. I had a pair of cheap 'water socks' and they fell apart after a few uses. These shoes still look new after multiple uses.

I love them, they are comfortable, but boy do they stink after a while! I need to find a way to kill the smell.

I bought these shoes while deployed, got tired of walking over rocks and dirt trails with my running shoes. These shoes are great, been using them to "hike" around the base and have even went running on the dirt trail a couple of times. Great shoes overall.

Great shoe. Tried others but this one provided the best support. If walking or hiking a lot and this is the shoe to buy.

I got these for my husband and he loves them! They fit perfectly and he enjoys wearing them. They are very lightweight and comfortable. And as always, Zappos service rocks!

My husband tried on 6 other shoes from different manufacturer's. This one is the winner! He says it is comfortable without socks.

Bought a pair of these for a recent trip to Costa Rica. They were the perfect shoe. Broke them in with a two day whitewater rafting trip where they provided excellent protection and comfort. They also gave a surprising amount of traction on slippery rocks as we hiked up rivers and climbed waterfalls during our two week adventure. Even when wet, the shoes breathed and felt ultra light. They also were fantastic on the beach and they held up well on a number of long hikes up Volcanoes and mountains. I was even able to go running in them. Overall, one of the best multiple use water shoes I could have purchased.

Love these water shoes. I live in Florida and wear them to go fishing, boating, on the wave runner, or any other general water thing. They fit great and are comfortable enough to wear almost the whole day. Keep them wash and they will last a long time. My last pair lasted almost 4 years of heavy use.

Bought these for my husband who has always worn Keens. He loves these shoes! They are truly water shoes. The mesh is so breathable that when he wears socks his feet will dry out, and they will when his feet are sweaty too. Best thing is that I can hose them down without worry when he comes in from a muddy trek. He says the fit is true to size. The Keens run a bit wider, but these still have enough room for thicker socks.

Really enjoy these shoes. I wear them both without and with socks, depending on the activity. I went a size smaller than what I normally wear in athletic shoe and they fit like gloves. Super comfortable! They also feel like they will last forever. Haven't put them through their paces yet but I don't worry that they will not tackle the toughest trails, streams, etc. with easy and comfort. Looking for a do it all outdoor shoe, don't hesitate on this one.

Good shoe to get your feet wet in. Basically, these are hiking shoes with mesh. Typical sturdy Merrell construction, good support. Dries quickly. I've worn these on two recent backcountry trips with lots of water. Better than sandals or reef walkers. They fit very well with a pair of ankle or other socks.

A nice shoe overall, love the design and comfort. The fit was as marked. I especially love the very sticky soles, they give you great traction on wet surfaces.

Great shoes for all around hiking and on the beach - they dry quick. Very good grip when I used them for surf casting. Only minor complaint is that they're a little difficult to put on or take off if you feet are wet. That may change as I break them in more.

I kayak and hike often and I needed a pair of shoes that could work for me when I hike in creeks. I have had them for about 2 months now. They have taken me into Aravaipa Canyon and on several kayak trips. The shoes are very comfortable even with a 40 lb. pack on. The only thing I can say about them that is negative is they do allow gravel in them. So on a 4 mile hike in the creek I did have to stop and dump them out a few times. The next day on the way out I wore gators with them and the collection of gravel was much lower. I own other Merrell shoes and I am happy that I added these to my equipment options. I did not give the full 5 stars due to the gravel collection problem.

Great fit, runs a little small. My feet are narrow and most shoes are too wide, but these are just right. Very light weight, even in size 14. Very comfortable for hiking, walking, or anything else. I like the unlined mesh that breathes much better than most hiking/athletic shoes.

At first thought the shoe was too flimsy, but after wearing in on concrete and to work, it offered great support and breathability. I have plantar fascia and it has not bothered me with these shoes. Very versatile shoe.

I bought the Merrell WaterPro Mainstee for a 3 day raft trip and needed something that would be wet yet versatile for hikes. The water shoes protected my feet and dried rather quickly. The material is excellent and does not stain. My foot is a little bit wide but these fit fine. They are comfortable and do not look like water shoes when you have them on. I wore mine without socks the first couple of days to test them out, out of the water, and my feet did not get too hot. Great shoe!

Great summer shoes. Got them for wading out to the boat over a rocky bottomed lake bed, but liked them so much I decided not to keep getting them muddy and just wear them on dry land. Great with or with out socks, but without socks it took my toes some time to get used to rubbing on the mesh. Very comfy.
