This is my second Rimowa luggage - it is the best investment I've ever made. It's light weight, you can fit quite a bit (about 3 days worth) and it is slick. I would definitely recommend this to everyone looking for a good piece of luggage.

Wow - what a great piece. After 20 years as a very loyal Briggs customer I'm converted. I'm mid trip with this tiny but very versatile baby and I'm very happy indeed. It just glides along, in fact it will run away from you on any sort of downslope - keep a finger on the handle to maintain control!

I just finished travel from US to Eastern Europe. My 1st experience with Rimowa and used 26 inches to 29 inches. What a pleasure to travel with! Our transition to/from the airport & within the airport was so easy on our bodies; the luggage seamed to float along on the 4 wheels. Its expensive, but if you have any physical issues, this is the easiest luggage to push that there is!

I love this suitcase! I ordered both the Tumi and the Rimowa carry-on and the, and the Rimowa is far superior. I had trouble with the Tumi locking mechanism from the start. I called Zappos, and they were wonderful about trying to help, but to no avail. The only way to open the Tumi was to return it to them for repair! I was able to return the Tumi to Zappos in exchange for the Rimowa. In addition, the Rimowa is significantly larger (still carry-on size), with a strong stout handle and wheels that roll like a breeze. The Tumi's lock was defective from the start. When I had the problem with the Tumi lock, it was after working hours, and I could not reach anyone. The suitcase was locked with all of my clothes inside, and there was no way to open it. I had to have TSA open the lock at the airport, which was a huge hassle No question, the Rimowa is the way to go. I love it!

Love my suitcase! The handling is really great, and it moves very easily. Ideal for business trips or for weekend getaways. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit too much, so if you need to pack more than a couple pairs of pants, skirts, shoes, etc, you might have to go for the 26". Perfect if you don't pack much, though.

Skeptical of size at first... I own Samsonite, Tumi carry-ons that are US Domestic size (Full 21.5"). This bag is a bit shorter as it measures 21.5 from wheels. I nearly returned it because at first look it appears small. Recently went on an international business trip and packed 6 shirts, 3 slacks, cardigan, shorts, pajamas, couple of t-shirts, new balance trail sneakers, light down coat, enough underwear and socks for the week. Pros: - Fits nearly all bins (only exception would probably be small 25-50 seater propeller plane). With US Domestic size, I've been asked to check in my previous carry-ons. - Wheels glide over most surfaces - Impeccable build quality (you will know where your dollar went) - Built in lock - Even as a "hard case" there is some give Cons: - Book like opening is not as convenient as typical bag opening Advice: - Buy packing folder and compression bags to maximize space Great bag very happy with the purchase, would buy again! Will probably buy the larger sizes for longer trips.

Best luggage item I have ever purchased; travel quite often overseas and this bag is the perfect size -- too many feel they need to carry "everything" with them; not so, and this bag definitely holds the essentials. Hope to keep using it for many years. The shipping service was also excellent.

Great! Lightweight, effortless, useful dividers, flexible shell. It's a keeper. 5 stars if it had outside pockets. Zappos rep was excellent! Ideal carry-on for international flights, U.S. regional jets or 2-3 day trips. Never checked it yet. Holds a lot. Lighter & more compact than U.S. version. Alitalia carry-on max=8.5kg/17LBS incl bag itself, so this bag packs 10 LBS of stuff. Weighed in Florence, Italy & had to remove items before boarding! Meets Alitalia's max. size exactly. Honestly some bins allow fatter bags but not 1" taller. Good luck getting on with a big bag.

OK, so I've been using a Lipault Plume 22" 4-wheel carryon for a while, and it is a great bag. I can't believe how much you can cram into that bag. However, I've been eyeing those carry-on baggage sizers, and reading that some airlines are getting stricter about that, and I'm afraid that my fully stuffed Lipault would never squeeze into one of those sizers. Having purchased a larger Rimowa as my checked bag, I decided to try the Salsa Deluxe as my carry-on. With a semi-hard shell, I doubt that I could stuff it so much it wouldn't fit in the sizer. You might think I could just use some restraint on packing the Lipault, but alas, if I can squeeze one more thing in the bag, I will. And one more ... and one more ... Don't you think I'll need another pair of shoes?... So on my most recent trip, I used the Salsa Deluxe. As I noted in my review of the larger Salsa Deluxe, using a "clamshell" type of bag takes some getting used to. The Lipault has one cavernous cavity that you pile everything into before you flip the top down and zip it up. (The Lipault also has a pocket on the front that I've used for my laptop, and I kind of miss that on the Salsa Deluxe - but not too much - now I put the laptop in my "personal" bag - or, ooh, I bet I could just unzip the top of the Deluxe and slip the laptop between the two compression layers). The Salsa Deluxe takes a little more strategic planning, as half of your stuff goes in one side, and half in the other. But the Salsa Deluxe has that great compression system, which really keeps hanging clothes from shifting around and wrinkling; I appreciate that, because I do like to bring clothes on hangers. In any event, both the Lipault & the Rimowa are great, but I gotta say the Rimowa has a much more sturdy handle; the Lipault handle will flex and twist (especially if you overstuff the bag), causing you to use more effort to keep it rolling smoothly; the Salsa Deluxe is rock solid. I haven't done a head-to-head comparison on how much I can stuff in each bag, but I do know that the Rimowa is easier to glide along, and is better at keeping the wrinkles away - it's my new go-to bag.

I just got this suitcase as a carry-on luggage. It serves us well. It is very light and very easy to maneuver around the airport, train station and stairs. Love it.

Very nice. I needed a new small bag and wanted something well made. I also prefer buying items manufactured in the first world and this bag is made in Canada. My overall impression is that the bag is very high quality with a high level of fit and finish. My clothes are bulky (6.4ft H/210/W/14 shoe) and I can comfortably back for a two night trip with business, leisure and running attire. I would recommend this to a friend or family member.

This is my smallest sized suitcase in this series and I purchased it based on the performance of my others. As for the wheels unless someone carried this suitcase for me, it does not get any better than this. The wheels glide across the floor, I have never once had the suitcase tip over. It is sturdy. It is lightweight. I would give the suitcase five stars if the zipper was easier to utilize, and if the suitcase was not a clam shell, as I find it very awkward to close. Happy and safe travels to you!

The suitcase itself is beautiful and sleek. It glides so easily that it's almost troublesome. I'll take it out of my car, close the door . . . and it will be rolling away from me down the parking lot. All in all, it's a great suitcase. It took me a bit to get used to the layout in the middle, mostly because this was the first hardtop I've used. My only complaint is just how small it is. It fits great as a carry-on for any airline; however, my clothes and other stuff do not fit well in it. I wish they could have made it larger. It's a great suitcase; I'm happy with my purchase. However, for the price . . . it should be a great suitcase!

I first ordered the Rimowa Salsa Deluxe in March 2013 after a long debate over Rimowa vs. Tumi. In the end, Rimowa won for its overall style, light weight and boasted patented multiwheel system. The bag arrived and I absolutely loved it. However, a month later as I was walking through the airport, one of the wheels popped off! The timing was terrible and, really, for the price of the bag I expected much more. I contacted Zappos and the customer service rep I spoke with could not have been more wonderful. She processed an exchange at no inconvenience to me. In fact, when I returned home from my trip, my replacement bag was already waiting for me. Fast forward to April 2014, after almost a year of having no issue with my Rimowa, I returned to my hotel room and realized I was locked out of my bag! The built-in TSA lock had somehow reset itself and my combination would not work. I went to the airport and asked a TSA rep to open my bag with their key. Even that wouldn't work and they ended up having to break the lock, which made me think the mechanism inside the lock had faltered. Once again, I called Zappos and, once again, they turned what could have easily been a huge headache into a painless return process. I still prefer Rimowa's overall style but, after 2 strikes, I'm switching to Tumi. The silver lining in all of this is definitely Zappos and their unwaivering commitment to a superior customer experience. I may never buy a Rimowa again but I will continue to be a loyal Zappos customer!
