@ Leah's review: Your suitcase got scratched so it is a bad suitcase? The wheels do not roll on carpet? It has two compartments so your stuff is all jumbled? It does not expand? This reviewer is clearly confused and has no idea how to pack or travel. All luggage gets scratched inevitably (except cheap fabric luggage). That is the point of Rimowa. It will get scratched, dented, beat to heck and still last 10 years or more. Mine has been to over 20 countries around the world over five years and yes you can tell. I challenge you to find another suitcase that can do the same. What kind of wheels on any suitcase are designed to roll on carpet extremely well? There are two compartments to save weight and the idea is you can customize the internal metrics to your specifications with additional pouches and bags (whether Rimowa brand or otherwise). You have clearly never been to an actual Rimowa boutique or know anything about good luggage in general. It does not expand because it is made of specialized material that will protect your valuable stuff. Only cheap luggage is expandable. This is the typical, ignorant customer who is served a Kobe filet grilled rare to perfection, turns up her nose and asks for a hamburger covered in ketchup. Rimowa makes some of the best luggage in the world without question and have been doing so for over 100 years.

I received this 29" luggage and could not figure out how to open it so I called Zappos customer service. Customer service stated that they did not have the information. I started to panic as I was leaving on vacation in a few days, I asked them if they I could order the larger 32" size piece of this luggage. Zappos is so wonderful that they said that they would ship me the larger piece air mail so that I would have it the next day. They also gave me the contact number of customer service of the Rimowa company so I could call and ask how to open the luggage. To all who need to know you set your 3 digit code an then turn the TSA lock tab down. Zappos customer service was fantastic and very friendly. In fact, I am ordering my husband the exact same piece of luggage, of course in another color, from Zappos for Christmas! Zappos is the best company as far as customer service that I have dealt with in years!

Just got back from a 2 1/2 week trip to Europe and was amazed with my Salsa Air. It was so easy to travel with this bag -- both in terms of weight (as in seemingly adds nothing) and ease of use. Smoothest roller I have ever had -- takes no effort at all -- and it still looks brand new -- what looked like scratches rubbed right off. Even the Barcelona taxi driver who literally dropped it on the sidewalk couldn't damage it. Am looking forward to many more trips with this bag. It is more than worth every penny I paid! Thanks Zappos for carrying such a quality product.

Love, love, love my new suitcase! Rolls so easily, I got a compliment the first time I used it within 3 minutes of entering the airport! Of course there will be scuffs and scratches from the usual airline rough handling but that doesn't bother me.

the Rimowa Salsa air suitcase is beautiful, better than the picture. It is extremely light and easy to roll around, there is so much room inside, basically it is a shell with no pocket dividers, but each side has netting that zips closed so the clothes stay in place and don't move around. Very easy to open. The suitcase is definitely worth the money.

I have taken this piece on two trips, and so far, it\'s the best piece of luggage I have ever owned. Both light weight and sturdy, it\'s a pleasure to pack and easy to maneuver.

I have only used this suitcase on two trips and thus far it is wonderful. It's light and so easy to maneuver. Beautifully made as well. Love the fact that the inside is not cluttered with compartments and just open space. High quality.

DO NOT buy this bag if you are expecting the brand quality that Rimowa typically brings. I travel for my job, so I need quality, and I replaced my older case that was probably about 12 years old with this and the carry-on size companion size in the color Pearl Rose. The luggage is pretty color and light weight. The Pearl Rose color is see through and the lining is sheer - so if you don't pack with packing cubes people will be able to see your socks, bras, and feminine products right through the case (I'm not exaggerating). Second, the wheels are not that durable, they are quite flimsy, so if you go over a door frame, change in laminate, the wheels will not easily glide over without considerable muscle - which is hard to do when you have a laptop bag and coffee in hand rushing to your flight connection. Third, the zippers are massively flimsy inside. As mentioned before, I use packing cubes, so my belongings are strategically packed and easily fit into the case. After 3 months with the cases the zippers inside the case broke, the mesh didn’t rip, the zippers came completely apart, one fell off completely. Fourth, the security locks built into the case BROKE completely, and no longer can be used. I’ve never seen anything like this happen, but you insert the zipper ends into the lock and the lock just doesn’t hold. All of these points, plus the poor design of the handle have left me infuriated with the price point. Complete ripoff.

We love this bag. We have 2 in the family and they are very sturdy, holding up to rough treatment, and very easy to handle. Well worth the money.

I thought I would love this bag. It's pretty freakin' light, the purple color I got was gorgeous, and it has all the fancy pants locks and keys and combinations. However, I returned it because I ended up hating it! It got scratched on a bus tour where I loaded/unloaded it myself (with extra care - imagine what would happen with the airlines!). The 4 way wheels were GREAT when you were on smooth, flat surfaces. Pulling it around on carpet or not ideal surfaces, however, just didn't work so well. I also really hated that it only had the 2 compartments - no little pockets, no nothing... just 2 big compartments for all of your stuff to get jumbled everywhere. I was also really disappointed by how much stuff I could fit in it. Maybe I was overestimating its capacity (?) but I couldn't fit everything I needed for my 2 weeks of military training in it. Worst of all, there was NO GIVE. If you're stuff doesn't fit, it doesn't fit - period. There's no stretching, there's no expanding... if it doesn't fit, you'd better hope you brought an extra bag. I expected a lot from the suitcase because it was so expensive, and I was let down. Thank goodness Zappos let me return it.

Do not buy this bag! I was deciding between this suitcase and a Samsonite I saw on sale, and went for this one thinking because of the name it must be great. How wrong I was! I've had this bag for less than 5 months and out of 4 zippers, 3 have broke! What a horrible situation to be in a foreign country having to search for a way to repair your zippers because you can't travel anywhere with a broken bag! I also told this to a friend, and she said the same zipper problem happened with her mother's Rimowa suitcase! Just save yourself the hassle and a lot of money and go for something else!

My sister was actually the person who recommended Rimowa luggage. She has had the light pink one and has traveled all over the world to such faraway destinations like Sumba and her Rimowa Salsa Air has stood the tough travel test. I purchased this one last summer before a 5 week trip to Europe and could not be more pleased with its performance! Between 6 countries, planes, trains and automobiles, my Rimowa was fabulous. I traveled with my husband and teenage son and at least in one place when my husband pulled his calf, I was balancing and pushing all of our luggage on top of the Rimowa! I also LOVED the dual zippered compartments and had all my clothing perfectly organized. Between a couple of zippered nylon bags inside the compartments for things like toiletries, swimwear and dirty laundry, everything fit beautifully and was always in great shape when we reached our destination. Sure it's got some scratches but that's just a testament to it's rugged durability. I can't say enough good things about this bag! When our entire family of 16 traveled to Italy over the summer, I realized that my sister's entire family of 6 had Rimowa rolling luggage like this and now I want to get one for my husband and son, too! If you are on the fence about this bag, I would highly recommend "taking the plunge" and making the investment in a Rimowa - this is a bag that will last you for years!

Unfortunately this suitcase arrived completely destroyed, looked like it was used, major dents, scuff marks and even paint marks, looked like it had been around the world twice, and the box wasn't even damaged, very strange. Unfortunately, it was delivered to a friends hotel, and he would not be there long enough to get a replacement, so I asked for a reimbursement. Customer service was amazing, they scheduled a UPS pickup for me, the only thing that had to be done was to drop it off at the front desk!! We even got a coupon of $50.00 for any inconvenience caused. This is why I love Zappos, and I'll definitely order a replacement in the near future.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Bought two of these over the summer and have used it on several transatlantic flights since. It's super stylish, roomy and so easy to pull even when it's filled to the brim. Love the shiny finish, dark blue color and ultra-light weight. Love it so much that I'm buying a third.

Have traveled with this luggage before which is why I bought more. Fantastic. So easy to wheel and lift when needed. Could hold more than regular type suitcase as it is so light. All markings came off with Mr. Clean magic eraser.

I purchased this in ice blue and checked the bag on an international trip. I am very pleased with this bag. The color stands out at baggage claim making spotting my bag so easy. It also stays really well balanced and wheels with ease. It's easy to navigate even when packed full. It did get a few scuffs on it during baggage handling but they came off with a wet rag and elbow grease and it looks like new. The lock works nicely and I love the separated compartments on each side. It makes it easy to find your things and easy to pack, especially when using packing cubes. By far my favorite brand of luggage I've ever owned.

I fly twice a week and so far this case has stood up to it. I purchased this to replace a Samsonite Polycarbonate case that I returned due to it cracking which I returned (not a Zappos purchase) at a cost of this much. The replacement also cracked! Due to the case being white I do not have every other half wit pawing at it at the carousel as they do with black cases (I saw one recently remove six cases that he thought were his only to put them all back) The case can pack in quite a lot due to its basic clam shell design. There are two zippered sections with no seperate compartments so it's advisable to use packing cubes for smaller items. Being white it does show scuff marks which can be easily removed by using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad. I like the fact that the lock is positioned at the top of the case for easy access.

I just bought 3 sizes of the type Salsa Air a month ago and love them. So far I have used them only on 1 flight and they did not get dented or scratched. One mark I could easily remove. They are very light and wonderful to handle. The purple is attractive and you can identify your bags right away on the band. The only thing I miss, is that they do not have interior straps in addition to the flaps.

Love this suitcase - it weighs next to nothing and can withstand a lot of abuse. Will never buy another brand of luggage. Plenty of room for a two week trip since nothing takes up space but what you put into it.

I love this suitcase! Incredibly light, easy to move, rugged and easy to spot in baggage claim. Got a few scratches on the flight, but no big deal, gives it personality. I'm thinking of replacing all of my luggage with this line. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

Great luggage! Super light weight. You can pack it completely full with everything you can imagine and it will still be under 50lbs. This style is a little unwieldy in a hotel room because you really need to open it and lay it flat; that is the only issue that we had. They roll very well and we even had to pull them for a mile across cobble stones in Buenos Aires, when we couldn't find a cab and they held up very well. Love the white color. Got a bit marred up but they look like new if you use a Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean up after a trip...

Love, love, love this suitcase! 29 inches is the perfect size. It fits so much and even at maximum capacity weighs in under 50 pounds so no extra airline charges. It is light and so easy to roll on all four wheels. Should have invested in this along time ago since it's built to last forever. Highly recommend!

Well worth the money! Bought this suitcase to replace ones that were worn out, & specifically for a European trip. They perform wonderfully. Looks sharp, easy to spot on the luggage carousel, never a broken anything or dent in them, very simple design but so easy to organize your belongings in. Actually much nicer not to have lots of little pockets all over. Super easy to roll & navigate. I will never get another brand of suitcase.
