I love this product. It looks cool, and takes up less space on the counter than the old wooden block -- while holding up to about 15 knives. And you don't have to fuss putting the right knife in the right slot. Large butcher knives fit fine, and serrated knives are not a problem.

I have found this knife block to be elegantly simple. There's no need to search for the correct slot to place the knife. It's simple to choose where you want it or where it will fit and go. I don't think you can go wrong with this purchase.

I bought the orange knife block. In a word, it is awesome. It takes up less counter space than a traditional knife block, and it is so much more stylish.

I love this knife block! It holds so much more than my stodgy old wood block (which I've now given away). It holds blades of every size and you can put them in at any angle you want. One reviewer said they only went straight in and it didn't handle long blades. Wrong! I don't know what product he/she was reviewing. This is just a fantastic item. Extremely useful and great looking too.

The red is a true red and it's very nice looking. Definitely takes up less counter space and it's easier to insert the knives than getting the right slot in a wooden block. But, since it is not angled, I found it difficult to insert and extract the knives (the motion has to be straight up and down, not pulling out). Since mine sits below an upper cabinet, that was even trickier. Also, my serrated bread knife was too long and wouldn't fit. Sadly, mine is going back and I'll stick with my bamboo block.

Never, ever will I use a wood knife block again, my daughter bought me 2 red Bodums. I have all my steak knives, butcher knives and paring knives in the 2 blocks and they look lovely and tidy on my kitchen counter. Thank you for inventing this magical gadget. I am so happy...can you tell?

Stylish knife block. Doesn't quite fit an 8" chef's knife, but 6" knives and paring knives fit easily, and you can pack quite a few in. Stands kind of tall with knives in it, so if you plan to use this under some low cabinets, think twice.

Flexibility is key here. No slots that limit knife size. You can even put scissors in it. I like it so much I've given it as a gift to several friends/relatives.

I am very satisfied with the Bodum Bistro Universal Knife Block. Since I have limited kitchen space, I find that it takes up very little room on my counter while easily and safely storing at least eight utility knives plus six steak knives. It nicely replaces the big clunky knife block.

Love this! Great for all kitchen designs; my kitchen is French Country and I bought a black knife holder to place next to my wood block of knives. Always have extra items to use and be close at hand and this is perfect to not only hold all sizes of knives, but other utensils. Very pleased.

I'm absolutely in love with this knife box. I don't like clutter or big knife boxes on my countertops. I bought the matching ceramic knife set and I'm very happy with them. I love the green color it is my accent color for my kitchen.

What a great item! If you have knives that you like to keep somewhat sharp this is indispensable! It takes up very little counter space and frees up that cluttered draw you have been throwing your knives in.

Love it! I traded my old traditional knife block for this one because it had lots of empty slots that didn't fit the knives I had. It takes up so much less counter space and you can fit plenty of knives in it. I have 12 knives in mine.

I found the Brodum Bistro to be a very functional knife holder. It can accommodate many knives of a variety of sizes. I have 12 in mine, from a chef's knife to a small paring knife. It takes up about half the space as a more traditional wooden block and adds a splash of color to the kitchen.

The person who said this would hold up to 46 knives must have been talking about paring knives. The handles crowd each other out. But it is still a great product and I love it.
