NB 993 - I have worn the 992 for 5 years, I noticed little difference in the 993 which is good. I have a Narrow foot & wear a full size larger in the 993. They are not pretty, but real comfortable for me running 3-4 miles a day.

Nice Shoe - Listen, they're good shoes; I can only wear them because I have a size 16 foot that's really wide. Now, they fit perfectly and wear well, I also have those custom orthotics, which work really well with the shoe.

Ordered Larger - Ordered this shoe in 10 1/2 for my husband, his regular shoe size. Needed to order an 11. That's the beauty of Zappos, return, ask for new. Tired of white ordered grey. Light, comfortable, airy and great for what he does, walking. Hard to get this guy in a shoe store. I am a wife of 45 yrs, say no more.

Great shoe - My son picked out this pair of shoes. He has indicated to me that they are holding up well and give good support. He has a sales job and stands on his feet for his entire shift. He gave them a 9 on a scale of 1-10. He normally wears a size 11 but after reading other reviews he elected to go up half a size, which was perfect.

They are great - I ordered size 16 2E and was happy with the fit. I have never really found a place that sells a shoe in a large enough size for my feet. Usually get stuck with size 14 Wide or size 15 Medium. Zappos is great. Shoes are comfy and great for my normal day to day use.

Great Shoes - Better than the 992, but not as good as the 991. Still a great fit, look, and overall shoe. I got both the black and grey and would not trade them for any other shoe!!

Great shoes - Our son chose these shoes to take to college as his "dress" shoes. On occasions that true dress shoes were not necessary, yet white athletic shoes would not do. We would suggest treating them with a weather proof for suede, they will look nice longer.

Great shoe - I've worn this model (990, 992, 993 ... basically same shoe) on and off for the past 15 years or so. Every once in a while, I'll try a Nike or another brand, but I always come back. This black one makes the shoe look even better! Very comfortable, great arch support, good for slight overpronators. Highly recommended!

Great Shoes!!!! I looked all over the web for a pair of black shoes to wear while playing in my band, but I didn't want all black and needed the support. I have another pair of New Balance shoes and thought I'll look and see if they have a black I like. For a few days they didn't and then lo and behold, there they were. I ordered them right away and got them the next day and they are great. Love the look and feel of these shoes.

When I tried them on in my house, I actually thought to myself... Wow! Is this how it feels when people with normal width feet wear shoes? I never knew that heels could feel good before they were "broken in". What a wonderful change. Although I love sexy, stylish high heeled shoes... they don’t always love my wide foot. So, I have been dabbling in "Sofft" shoes. This is my second pair. They are very pretty. Not quite as sexy as a stiletto... but they are not dowdy comfort shoes. And they are very comfortable.

Amazing Shoe - Love the fit and retro look of this shoe...I have a wide foot so this shoe was perfect. Very comfortable and multi-purpose. I found that it runs a 1/2 size small so but otherwise a great shoe. A little on the expensive side but worth the money

Good shoe. Very stable - your foot doesn't roll in or out. I bought as a replacement for the 2001 which was discontinued. I like the NB 2001 better but this shoe is the next best thing.

Running around and playing soldier out in Iraq is a hard thing to do as it is, but when you got shoes like these, it makes the year go by a lot faster. First time trying the NB and started with the 900 series. Good selection for style, and seem to be built pretty well (I run about 50-60 miles a week and I am 6'2, weight at 190). Like what the Fit Survey says, the shoes do seem to feel half a size smaller than suggested, so just prepare for that.

I burn through shoes like butter, on my feet all day long. Never tried NB before. They are holding up well. I'm an all year bike rider, don't own a car, the reflectivity on these suckers really lasts. I didn't really buy these shoes for that purpose so it was a plus, especially on winter nights on Chicago streets. They are very breathable so your dogs will get cold at night. Your feet sweat a lot so I guess that's a good thing.

I love this shoe! I was worried when I saw the 992 style were gone, but luckily I found this new replacement for my favorite shoes.

These shoes have enabled me to continue moderate jogging despite arthritis in both feet the last 10 years that necessitated going to a slightly wider and very well-cushioned shoe. The downside is how fast the heels wear out.

I am very happy with these sneakers. I use them primarily for commuting from work and I find them to be very comfortable. I accumulate roughly 20-25 miles per week on these shoes and find my feet and knees to be in good shape upon getting home. I am a heavier walker at about 220 lbs and find them to be stable, pretty supportive and balanced nicely. I bought them in the all black and the glow in the dark sole is kinda cool. The styling is typical New Balance 900 series. Stylistically I prefer the 574 series but the 9s are better for exercise. Overall, I would recommend this shoe, especially if you are a larger framed person. The all-black are subdued enough where you could almost wear them to work on a casual day and not draw attention to the fact that they are sneakers.

I have to agree with the bottom review. The glow in the dark 993s are the hottest color to date in series that NB has created so far. I think the shoe is very comfortable, but like the other review said, the standard colors are geared for the older crowd. The only drawback is they need to make the limited colors in wide widths. The 993s do stretch out over time, though. NB has just released a dark grey, black sole with baby blue trim 993 for men as well. NB is starting to get it right.

This is the only narrow sneaker that fits my husband. He is has a 13 AAA narrow foot. The shoes are comfortable and hold up well. We have tried the black version of the same shoe, but it was not comfortable. We have bought this shoe four times.\r\n\r\n

I measure Women's 11 AA but Women's New Balance 13 AA is too short. So ordered the Men's 12 1/2 AA, fit pretty good with my orthotic on top of the one that comes with the shoe and the laces tied tightly!
I'd also recommend:
for women who need a narrow shoe, try Nike! They run the narrowest of the men\'s athletic shoes.

This is the best, if not the only running shoe for my 14AAA pair of feet. BUT, I must question if NB has cut corners with this new model. I\'ve purchased at least a dozen pairs of this model\'s predecessors (992, 991) over the last ten years or so. While the 993 is lighter than the most recent 992, the sole on both shoes is wearing down much faster than previous pairs. Is anyone else seeing this? I have owned mine since May and only run 15-20 miles a week. This has always been a high quality shoe. I hope my experience with this 993 pair is an exception to the rule.

Because I wear a large women's size, I frequently have to resort to wearing men's shoes and the old NB 992's were perfect, even the arch. After reading the reviews, I had high hopes that the new 993s would be equal to my 992s. I put the 993s on and they felt shorter than my 992s. Have no idea why because, otherwise they were comfortable although I also could not feel the the arch like I can in the 992s. I went to a local store to try on a half size larger and they were too big. In the meantime, the store found a pair of 992s, which I love, so I bought them and am sending the 993s back for now. Don't know why shoe makers have to redesign shoes that are already good. DUH! But I will probably be back to try them again. These shoes are so comfortable when I work, on my feet on a concrete floor!

Happy with 992 and 993 just as good - I've been wearing New Balance running shoes for many years. My last pair were MR992s that I wore out. My only complaint with those was that my big toes broke through the fabric top after a few months. Even with that problem, I bought the 993's, filing my toenails very short and hoping for the best. I don't run as much as I used to and now power-walk about 3-4 miles a day. I think the damage was peculiar to the way I flex my feet. I would still recommend to New Balance that they change the design to extend the trim for toe protection like many other shoes. Great, comfortable, dependable and good looking shoe!!

Cadillacs for my feet! After owning several pairs of 991s, I started experimenting with shoes from Asics, Mizuno, and Brooks. I can confidently state, now that I've switched back, that nothing comes close to the comfort of the NB MR993. Disclosure: 5'9", 175, EE width, run solely on treadmills 1 hour, 3x per week.
