I ordered the Giesswein Spital house slippers on July 4, 2018, so I would be prepared for the winter months to come. At first, I was very pleased with the style, fit, and comfort. I have worn them a couple of times, only on carpet, to "break them in" since it is obviously too hot during the summer months to wear consistently. I am very disappointed the bottom soles of the slippers are coming apart. The tread is pulling up in places and leaving bald spots. I don't know if I received a pair of lemons or if this is due to quality of workmanship. In the past, I have spent a lot less for slippers that lasted for a lengthy period of time.

I reviewed this before, but I wanted to change my fit advice. These run very large and are designed to be loose fitting. I ended up going down two US sizes. I'm normally an 8.5-9, or a 39-40. A 38 (US 7) in these fits perfectly. They have become my favorite slippers. I've found that shearling slippers make my feet sweaty and bother my arches. These woolies keep your feet dry and just the right temperature. They are never itchy. The sole is not overly grabby on carpet, so they aren't a trip hazard. You can even run outside in these -- in dry weather -- to get the mail or the paper or let the dog do its thing.

I love these slippers! They are cute and comfortable. The arch support is perfect. I was going to order another pair, but there is a major problem. The soles are wearing down to the felt. I have only had them 3 months. How can I extend their usefulness?

How, in this day and age, could finding just the right slipper be such a difficult task? Well, I finally found the brand for me: Giesswein. The Spital is as perfect as it gets. The only problem is that to put the shoes on you need to be actively engaged. They are not slip ons. But because these slippers are not slip ons, they do have their own place in your heart and your slipper closet! Anyway, these slippers are otherworldly comfortable, they are not heavy and there is support inside. I am thrilled with my discovery. And, because I love color, the visual appearance could not be more perfect for me.

Beautiful little slipper! I got the womens size 9 and it's roomy. I normally wear between an 8.5 and 9 with most shoes. However, this is comfy now and I know it will stretch out a bit so I m going to return for the 8. Nice arch support, too.

These are great slippers! They are cute and comfortable with a nice non-skid sole. Take everyone's advice and order a size smaller than you wear as these run big, I did and they fit perfectly.

Love these slippers! They have a good arch support, stay on easily (up and down the stairs), and are really cute! I have only worn them with socks, and there is plenty of room for socks. Remove the insole and they are washable, too!

Very cute and comfy, but runs large. Also the top of my foot is exposed more than I'd like. I usually wear an 8.5 to 9. I ordered the 9 as it came in whole sizes only. You should order down a whole size. I'm still giving it 5 stars.

So happy! I am a women's size 12 and wear othothics. Most of the time shoes do not fit me or, if they do, they look clunky and unattractive. But, HURRAH, these fit, are super comfortable and cute. I love them. Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!

These slippers are light, warm, and cute. They are more stylish then I thought. I am an 8½, medium/wide width. I ordered these in charcoal in size 8 and they fit very well with thin to medium thick socks. With thicker socks, the front top opening would be too tight on my feet. The soles are flexible, which I like. I can run up and down stairs without any worries. After trying on about 10 slippers from various brands, I am really happy that I got them.

These slippers are beautifully made. They are toasty warm. I find that if I have socks on too, that they are a bit more comfy. I wasn't sure what size to get so I ordered two, and returned one. They do run a bigger. I am a size 6 - 7, depending on shoe (i.e., sandals or enclosed shoes with socks). I love them!

I wear a 10 in regular shoes but ordered these in 39 (U.S. women's size 8). They fit perfectly on my bare feet, which is the way I intended to wear them. They are so cute, and warm but non-sweaty. I love the arch support. My feet are sad that they ever have to wear anything else.

I love, love, LOVE my Giesswein Spitals! I have had them for 6 months now, and they are still every bit as comfortable and soft as they were the day I got them. And oh, are they soft... That was the first thing that surprised me, when I first got them out of the box. The second was how cute they were-- the pics don't do them justice! Third, they are extremely well made. And finally, the support they offer my poor arch is the best of all the shoes I own. Not bad for a "slipper"! They slip on super easy, they're lightweight, and just all-around fantastic.

These are the most comfortable slippers ever! The insole has lovely arch support, and the wool is nice and warm. I wasn't sure about the design, but I actually like it. The flowers and stitching are quite charming. I love these slippers! They do run a bit big, though. So if you are in doubt, get a size smaller.

These are so cute! Just the thing for fall/winter snuggling. They run large, though, maybe a whole size! Once it gets colder, they may be perfect with thick socks, but as they are now they just sort of slop around on my feet. They are good slippers for sitting down and reading. They are not meant for running outside to get the paper!

I am really glad that I got these, they are super comfortable. Our home has stone floors downstairs, and my Isotoner ballet slippers were just not giving me enough padding and warmth on cooler days. These are giving me both, but the wool upper accommodates for a variety of temperatures, unlike sheepskin slippers. The photo of these slippers show the flower as not being stitched down entirely, but my slippers have it stitched down all the way, which I prefer. These are expensive slippers, but I expect to be wearing them for the long-term. Next year I might spring for one of Geisswein's ballet slippers as an alternative.

I bought these as a Christmas present for a friend. They fit well and she said they were very comfortable! And as always, delivery was prompt!

These are so pretty in charcoal! Unfortunately, I had to return the first pair and order a smaller size. The length was okay, but the slippers flopped around on my feet so much that they were slipping off as I walked. I'm hoping the smaller size works. Order down a size!

I love these slippers! They have a happy splash of color and they are jusdt warm enough, never sweaty, never smelly. They are wool and rubber and not much else so it seems a green footwear choice!

These are absolutely adorable, with better arch support than most slippers. They do run large, though (a full size it seems), so I have to send them back. Bummer.

Lovely design, quality material but much too big! I wear a size 7 medium and I followed the recommendations but they are too big. Order one size down.

Wow! These are super comfortable and cute, but for me the most important thing is the arch support. These Giesswein slippers are as supportive as my worn out pair of Vionic slippers, which are specially designed for people with plantar fascitis. I had planned to take the insole out of these and put in an orthotic, but ended up not needing to. They were perfect for my problem feet right out of the box.

Really impressed with the workmanship of this shoe. The decorations seem to be made of wool felt, plus some wooden beads. Feels warm, snug and cozy. Unfortunately there was not enough heel height for my feet.

These slippers are so awesome. The boiled wool is so comfortable without being itchy, and the inner support is great.

Adorable, comfy with nice insole, but still too big even though I ordered down a size to 37 based on other reviews. I have wide and "unhappy feet", but I will try this brand again in a different style.
