Mine squeaked after a couple days. I removed the insole and found that it has some light adhesive on it, and the adhesive sticks and slips after a short while. A little foot or talcum or baby powder in the shoe with the insole and no more squeak. No need to return these.

I wear these shoes to officiate basketball. I buy a new pair every year. Year one, I wear them on the court. Year 2, they rotate to my casual shoes. Year 3, they become my yard mowing shoes. Comfort and performance-wise, they are the best shoes I've found in this price range. As someone else pointed out, however, they are very loud. On the court it doesn't matter. But when I'm strolling through Target with cart full of groceries, I'm not exaggerating when I say that heads do actually turn and look. That's how loud they are. If you can live with that, this is a great shoe.

The best shoes I've ever worn. This is my third pair. They fit like a 'glove', they breathe, they are durable, good looking and clean up well. I highly recommend them. (One pair, in black, developed an annoying squeak inside the shoe bed. The white-black-red pair are fine - no squeaks yet.)

I'm a long time fan of the Monarch III but after 4 years needed the same fit and comfort with a different style, which is exactly what the Monarch IV provided. I have flat feet that are slightly wide and very few shoes can fit without irritation the way that Monarch can. The new look is subtle but distinctive from the previous version.

These are a good solid shoe. I've had 3 pair now and they last as long if not longer than more expensive ones.

The most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, but they squeak and fart with every step on every surface except carpet. People can hear you coming down the hall 100 yards away.

It is true what people have said; these develop a squeak that is almost embarrassing. Many people have commented on my squeaky shoes. Zappos return policy is useless as well, because the squeak doesn't start until the 3rd or 4th day of wearing the shoes. By then, they are not in brand new condition as you have worn them outside and to work for a week almost. Overall though, if the squeakiness wasn't there, the shoe would be perfect. If you don't mind squeaky shoes, these are for you.

We have purchased this shoe several times before and have had issues, but we thought they had been fixed, but they are back to being annoying again. My husband is a package car driver, and is on his feet a lot. These shoes are so squeaky, like embarrassingly so! His first pair was, but his 2nd abs 3rd weren’t, but his 4th pair is squeaky again! I thought Nike had listened and fixed the problem. I’m super bummed. They are comfortable, and hold up pretty well, but are almost unbearable to wear with the squeak! Please someone fix the problem! Also they took away the width option for black which is a bummer and they run a 1/2 size too small. (Pics of wear on his last pair of shoes, worn for about 9 months)

The black model is more flexible than the solid white, due to the black parts of the shoe is flexible material, also get this shoe a half size larger,

I've own many Nike shoes in the past and these are extremely comfortable. I wanted a pair of comfortable black shoes for work which requires me to stand and move. These met my expectations with a great sales price from Zappos too.

Zappos treated me well again. I was getting regular ground shipping and received an email saying this was being sent next day air. Boy was I happy! The shoes now that's A different story. They ended up being best pair of shoes Ive ever had in ever way. I could find no faults at all. I'm very pleased. I'll never buy shoes anywhere else, unless its a pair of sandals in Hawaii or somewhere like that. Thank you Zappos you're the best!.

Great shoes. I bought three pair, I have nerve damage and the shoes feel like you're walking on air.

This is my husband's second pair, and while they are very comfortable after a week they squeak so bad that you can hardly stand it. His first pair squeaked too, we thought it was just a fluke. Guess not.

I have worn this model shoe for 10 years and have gone through many pairs. The last pair I bought were made in Vietnam and were comfortable from beginning to end. The one's I just purchased were made in China. The shoes were noticeably stiffer and needed to be broken-in. This is the first time it happened. Once broken in, they squeak when I walk. This does not seem to be the same quality shoe I have purchased in the past.

Fit was good but definitely not 4E. The problem was in the inside where the pinky toe lies, where the design is just in front of the logo. It does not have a smooth contour, it has a ridge that rubs against the side of the foot. When you hold the sneaker up to the light it permeates the trouble area. Secondly, when I put my weight down on the sneaker, it splays and makes it worse. See photos fro reference.

Me and my wife feed the only shoe I can wear and they are very comfortable Nikes were always narrow for me however they did it on this one The new black blue and white is a good luck and the only ones I'm buying now and I don't hear the squeak like previous with the red and black and the all black

Good shoe. Appears to be as good as the original Air Monarch I've been buying and wearing for over 20 years.

I have worn Monarch for years and they are very comfortable. I am on my feet for 8 to 10 hours a day and they work very well.

Comfortable as always. I've bought the Nike Air Monarch for my boyfriend for years. The Monarch IV is better than the III. The III was somewhat weird; narrow at the toe box, had to order wider version. The IV is like the old Monarch II, which is true to width. Recommended.

My husband has worn the Air Monarch III for several years since we bought three pair when we found the fit so well. These shoes are for the guy with a high arch and a wide foot that wants to have a current yet comfortable sport or work shoe. I recently bought the new Air Monarch IV for both him and my 20 year old son and they both love them. These shoes really last and I have had great success washing my husband's original pair and these are just as great.

I have been wearing Air Monarchs for jogging and casual use for years. Local outlets never seemed to have my model, or my size, or my color so one phone call and my old friends were at my door in 2 days at a good price.

I bought these due to the wider width availability, I like the shoes but the squeaking is very annoying, and I have contacted Nike about this. Hopefully they will stand behind their product!

This is a great fitting walking shoe! Its size is true to fit. The only problem is the Chinese rubber starts to squeak after 60 days wear.

Liked these sneakers a lot...until they started to squeak. It's like the air pocket has deflated and two layers of rubber inside it are rubbing together, making for an off-putting squeak. So beware to squeak!
