This is one of those styles you hope the company does not change or stop making in your lifetime. The fit is a perfect combination of safely snug and comfortable enough to wiggle your toes. The zipper means easy off and on, and the laces mean that this will suit those with a wide variety of ankle/calf circumferences. The laces also mean that you can wear both tights and thicker socks with these boots. The books look a little clunky in a picture, but on the foot they are more elegant; I wear mine with knee length skirts and tights and get many compliments and double-looks. The heel lifts you out of ice and snow but is low and large enough that you never teeter. My final suggestion is that you buy your regular size and consider a half size smaller if you need accommodation for foot issues in the toe box or need to wear an orthotic. As you can tell, these are dream boots for me. If you are the fence over the price, remember the ancient Chinese proverb: "Buy the best you can afford, and cry only once."

I love these boots - they are comfortable out of the box and the fact that they are waterproof is icing on the cake. Ordered 1/2 size down from my usual. My feet are on the wider side of normal but not wide. I live in sneakers, clogs and birkis most of the time but missed wearing boots. These look great and feel great.

Very disappointed! These must be my 6th or 7th pair of LaCanadienne boots over as many years, and most of those were black suede, but never before did I experience the dye bleeding so much! My hands were black after just seconds of handling these boots! Considering that I plan to wear them under pants, some of which are light in color, I will be returning them, because I do not want to stain all my clothes! Too bad, and too sad, because I love the brand - comfort, style, the fact they are waterproof - and I am really upset to realize that even their quality is going down, especially for the price...

Awe NOOOO!!! I have to admit, I included these in an order knowing I'd probably return them. Zappos takes the "gamble" out of shopping that way. But these boots are absolutely perfect! Beautiful dark brown suede, low comfortable heel, that perfect LaCanadienne fit... there is no way these beauties are going anywhere but on my happy feet:) I love these boots!

These boots fit perfectly and look fantastic and actually keep my feet warm while I am walking my puppy in <10 F temps. My first pair of LaCanadienne boots are 13 years old. They are in excellent condition except for the zipper. I wouldn't have even needed to replace them but I can't go without winter boots for the 2 weeks it's going to take to get the zipper replaced. They are expensive but they never wear out!

This is a true beauty! Very comfortable and stylish , lightweight and warm. I wouldn't wear them in really really heavy rain and I would avoid puddles!

Just got these. They look great and I can see myself wearing them all the time... with jeans, dresses.... I wear 9.5 and they feel true to size. I have really wide feet so they fit a little snug widthwise but I can see how they will give a little with time. Material is soft and comfortable and they are fairly light weight.

I purchased these boots after healing from a broken ankle. The laces enabled me to leave the boot very loose until the swelling resolved. They are extremely comfortable now, 9 months later. I can walk all over the city without any foot pain. The suede is lovely. I sprayed them with water repellant several times and they look as good as new.

These are the best boots I've ever bought, and I have some nice ones. They are super comfortable. They look great with jeans, either tucked in or out. I wish winter would last longer so I could wear them every day. LOVE!

This is a really great boot! I ordered the 9.5 and 10 because I was unsure what size I'd need. I'm usually a 40. For me the 9.5 fit best. I like that it can be customized to fit by using the laces and then you can use the zipper after. Very easy to get on and off. I found it very comfortable out of the box. I found it to be lightweight even with the lug sole. Probably the only negatives are it could use more arch support and it's a little tight in the forefoot area. Maybe that's just my fussy feet though. I like the overall "look" of the boot as well. It will look great with both jeans and skirts with tights. This pair of boots is a keeper for me!

These are very cute boots, but I did not feel confident about the fit. They weren't exactly the wrong size, they just didn't seem exactly the right size, either. Also, they were a bit too heavy for me to want to wear them every day, and that's what I was looking for.

Loved these boots. Very comfortable immediately. I bought them for a winter trip to London and Paris. Walked miles in them every day. Very comfortable, waterproof and good looking. While very expensive, they are well worth it. My previous pair of La Canadienne boots lasted me for many years.

These are really comfortable! There isn't much arch support, but I was able to put an insole on top of the non-removable foot bed (half foot with arch support) that helps a lot and doesn't squish my toes. Everything from mid foot to shaft is nicely adjustable with the laces and then easy on and off with the zipper. Wore them for the first time 12 hours with about a mile of walking in the rain, and they felt good and I stayed dry. The lining is really nice, I didn't have any boot-height socks to wear, and there was no rubbing or chafing on my bare legs at the end of the day. They also look nice/stylish and not too unprofessional for work. I have been looking for boots for many months that check all of these boxes, and I have finally found them! One note on sizing: I am normally a 7.5, usually an 8 in boots with heavier socks. Based on the reviews, I purchased a 7 and a 7.5. Both we almost identical in length! The 7.5 was a tiny bit wider at the widest place on my foot, and had a tiny bit more space in the heel, but I went back and forth agonizing over which were the better fit. Glad I went with the 7.5.

These are gorgeous, well made, perfect boots in every way. My feet are the problem. I have very high arches and there was not enough arch support for me. The insoles are not removable. My right foot felt a bit of pressure over the first metatarsal that didn't relieve when the ties were loosened. Toe box roomy enough otherwise. The fit was overall spot on. Ordered 7, my usual. These are not for bare feet, IMO, though the inside was soft enough. Great stability, wear all day-easily goes inside and out-not bulky. Ideal for leggings and dresses-just gorgeous. Zipper essential-no fussing with ties. Worth a try if you are considering. They are the kind of boots that are meant to be loved-sadly, it didn't work for me.

The boots are beautiful and have good arch support. The only problem was that because the boot shaft is soft, it forms to the shape of my ankle, which is usually swollen, so it did not look good. I returned them.

Amazing boots. They felt tight at first, I normally wear 12 but need 12W in some brands. This might have been good in wide, but I wore them around the house for one day and already they feel like they're conforming to my foot. Love them! Definitely worth the price.

DBe specific about your likes and dislikes. How was the fit and size? What does the material feel like? How awesome (or not) do you feel wearing them?

These were just what I was hoping for. I've had La Canadienne boots in the past that were my favorite. As I've been shopping for them again this year, some styles are too narrow, but not the Carolinas (no my feet aren't wide). I'm super happy with my super cute boots.

The boots are excellent. They are warm, stylish (for a winter waterproof boot) and do not feel bulky like other brands of waterproof boots. While I usually take 9,5 in boots, I ordered size 9 (based on reviews) and the boots fit very well. Brown color is nice and goes with everything. These boots are worth the expense.

Love these boots. Wear them right out of box zipper is almost hidden and makes ithem super easy to take off and on.
