I am also having the squeaking problem after only 3 days of wearing in a month. I took them to the Cole Haan store and they will be offering free repair or rebuilding services that will take a minimum of a month. Major bummer on that note but I am glad that the service is available. It fits a beefy foot well. I have a rather thick and wide foot with a high arch and usually can't fit in to nice shoes. This shoe was made pretty much perfect for me especially since I do not like having support for my arch and the soles are fairly flat.

Really like the boot, great materials/stitching, like the laces, but have been wearing them for a month now and the right shoe has developed a really annoying squeak when I walk on any surface, concrete, wood floors, carpet. I've tried everything but can't seem to get rid of it. :( Hoping it will go away on it's own one day b/c I really like these boots otherwise.

This is an update to my previous review. I returned my original squeaky pair to Cole Haan and they exchanged it for a new pair at no charge. Unfortunately that pair developed a squeak in a different location in under 2 days and when I went back to Cole Haan they no longer had my size but allowed me to exchange the shoes for merchandise of equal value. I'm happy with the exchange but disappointed with the quality of the shoes I had to return. The sole construction is an odd rubber/leather combo that none of their other products have and I fear they were not able to perfect this particular method. Be careful when buying these shoes, they might squeak.

Stylish, comfortable boot. Fits as ordered. I read all the complaints about "squeaks" but haven't noticed any yet. Keeping my fingers crossed, because I really like these boots.

Great boots. I have received compliments every time I have worn them. The rough leather looks great, and I love the contrast laces. The boots are comfortable. I have noticed the squeaking that some others have pointed out, but it isn't terrible.

I bought these for my husband in the dark chocolate- he loves them. Since we live in a city he walks back and forth from work and he can wear these in less than perfect weather. They are a great height for a casual boot, and he can wear them all day without looking like he is wearing a typical clunky boot. The brown leather has a bit of texture to it which makes it look beautiful and the sole has rubber for some traction. This is a great casual boot! He is thrilled!

My new favorite shoe! I've owned a couple pairs of CH in the past and I've been pleased, but they've really outdone themselves with the Paul Chukka. Great styling. Amazing detail. Stellar shoe. It's worth the money.

Sleek looking for a chukka; thinner/firmer sole than the standard crepe sole. Like them a lot -- a little dressier than you'd think.

Did not like the shoe, as the fit was a little off. Color is a gray/green.

I absolutely loved these boots in brown. They fit perfectly and look and feel great, but after a month or so the squeaking became intolerable for me. I put them up for a few months and got them back out recently and the squeak is still there. I'm tempted to try another pair, but it looks the squeak is a design problem with this shoe. I'm forced to give them one star overall because they're basically unwearable now.

Same problem with squeaking after a month - clearly this product line has problem. She repair shop said sole was poorly assembled and shoes should be returned.

The suede is a much lighter color than pictured looks a little dirty right out of the box. The toe is better looking than the SeaVees Chukka (which is wider and rounder) and is less pointed than the To Boot. The To Boot Chukka is the best Chukka constructed by far, but the color is even lighter than this Cole Haan Chukka.

The shoe has great design; I love the color, especially the contrast the red lace makes against the color and texture of the material. The sole of right shoe broke within the first month of use. Because I love the shoe so much, I got another pair! Maybe it was just a bad pair that I had before. But I still have a problem with the second pair! Like other reviewers, the left shoe makes an annoying squeaking sound when I walk. I'll try to send it to the manufacturer's restoration program. Hopefully it will fix the problem.

I ordered 7 pair of chukkas from Zappos and these were one of my top two choices, but I sent them back. They probably would've been my top choice if the color matched that shown on this web site. the pair I received were much closer to a tan color than the dark gray shown in the images here. I didn't wear them for more than a minute so can't comment on the squeaking issue others have reported.

I loved the way the red/brown contrast looked on these shoes - despite them having zero arch support. The first pair started squeaking after a dozen wearings, so I exchanged them for a second pair. The same thing happened with second pair. I was fully refunded, thankfully. That is unacceptable for a shoe at this price level - or any price level really.
