Love the look but I tried on size 39 because I wear an 8 1/2 but they were too tight so I tried on size 40 but found them too big. I needed a size in between. By the way, for those with smaller or larger calves, Dillard's has a machine to punch additional holes in the buckle strap to accommodate those needs.

Yay, finally a pair of boots that zip up over my enormous calves! :) I'm 5'2 with 16.5 calves. This is the third pair of boots I tried and they fit perfectly! Very cute, nicely made, comfortable. Winner!

These boots are just amazing. I had a hard time finding cute boots that fit my calves, and these are perfect! I don't have enormous calves -- 15" -- but most riding boots I tried were pretty snug. These are great, though they do knock against the back of my knees sometimes (I'm 5'2") when I walk up stairs, which I'm hoping will fade over time. The leather is super soft and these felt like perfectly broken in boots after the first wearing! I get so many compliments on them. They are definitely timeless, and worth every penny. I usually wear a size 8, and have a slightly wider foot. I ordered the 39 and they fit perfectly.

I am really pleased with these boots. The leather looks expensive and the design is classic and elegant. I have very large calves and they fit! I normally wear a 7.5 and I had to return my first order and get size 37, which is supposed to be a 6-6.5. But returns are always easy with Zappos!

These are very cute boots and are comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the inside panel is actually two pieces of leather bonded together, which I think is very cheap for the price.

Okay, so this was about the tenth boot I tried on. Initially I wanted something like the Timberland Bethel boot, which didn't zip up my calf. I don't have an unusually large calf, but I found many boots were just too tight or flat out wouldn't zip. Tried this boot after reading the reviews. I liked the look, although it is more structured and dressy than I thought I wanted, but I have to say, I really love them. As far as looks go, they are classic and will never go out of style. The 3 buckles are a great detail and functional as well, hiding a leather gusset which is adjustable for perfect fit. The shape of the boot is very feminine with a nice taper at the ankle which will become softer with wear. I chose the brown and the color is very versatile being a medium warm brown color. The fit is great, especially considering my foot is a little wide at the ball of the foot and narrow at the heel. These really fit well, not too tight, not too loose, just right. I ordered my regular size, and I have to say, I'm in love! As usual, Zappos' service is outstanding, ordered them late Wednesday evening and they were on my doorstep when I got home from work on Thursday. Thank You Zappos and Ecco for a lovely boot!

I really love these boots - they retain their structure and are versatile in terms of the size of the calf. I had ordered a pair of David Tate boots but the calf was huge. I ordered a beautiful pair of Frye boots but I could not get them fully up my calves. The Ecco boots allowed me to open the top buckle on notch while keeping the others at the tightest - great for tucking in cords. They are on the dressier side so I wear them primarily to work. They were immediately comfortable and very stylish. If I could improve them, I would like the leather to be less shiny, but as noted it does lend itself to a dressier look. I wear a 10M which I bought and the sizing was true.

I have had a hard time finding boots that fit my wide calves, and was pleasantly pleased when I received the ECCO Hobart. The boot shaft actually expands based on your calf size with a piece of leather tucked beneath the buckles. A previous reviewer mentioned that this made the boot look cheap. I don't think so, and in fact it does not compromise the style of the boot at all.

This is an addendum to my review below. After wearing these around a while I realized the 41 was way too long. I ordered the 40 and they fit my 9½-10 sized feet perfectly. Didn't want to mislead anyone!

I will preface this by saying that I have about a 17" calf at the widest. I have found several boots on Zappos that will zip but most of them either are cheap-looking (eg lots of elastic panels), not particularly stylish, or when I do get them zipped up my leg just looks like I stuffed it in the boot - not attractive. I think these boots might just be the ones. When zipped on me the center panel is completely expanded, but this actually gives my calf a bit of breathing room that does not make it look like I was poured into them. I can buckle the top buckle with some tugging, but I will probably just add another hole. I also think that the buckles actually distract from the panel and give the boot a little more dimension that balances out my heavier leg. The quality of the leather is nice and they seem comfortable around the house so far. If you are on the fence, definitely give these a try. I wear a 9½ - 10 and usually a 10 in boots. I ordered these in a 41 and I think the size is right.

The boots are beautiful; however, I think that they're a better fit for people with fuller calves and wider feet. I certainly don't have "model's legs" (my calves are 13.5 inches), but these looked very wide on me, both at the top of the book and around the top of the foot. I should probably order a smaller size, but I fear the general problems will remain. So, I think its a great boot if you have the right legs for it -- just not mine.

Beautiful boots, but an odd fit for me...I've worn Eccos before and loved them, but the leather on the front of the boot (that rises up to a point at the front of the ankle) was incredibly stiff and uncomfortable. Additionally, the boots were far too tight around my admittedly wide feet (but again, the same size as other Eccos I've had before, with which I had no width problem). Sent 'em back! Too bad, as they're so pretty.

Love this boot! A friend of mine has a pair and they look so good on her. She raved about the comfort, so I had to see for my self and ordered them. I order three different brands of boots as well to see which I would like the most, and yep, the ECCOs won hands down. I've worn them almost every single day since they arrived a week ago with not the slightest discomfort. Totally waterproof in the rain and the bottoms do not collect debris like the ones with the waffle sole. It's the kind of boot you actually forget you are wearing because they fit so perfectly. Also I am a very small boned person and have small calves but I am tall, so finding boots that have a tall enough shaft and yet stay close to my calves is nearly impossible. Because this boot has three functioning buckles on the side I was able to adjust them to my skinny calves without changing the look of the boot at all. Also I have a narrow foot and they fit perfectly, so this might not work so well for someone with a wide foot. Thanks again Zappos for making shoe shopping a simple joy!

I love this boot! Have long been looking for a riding boot that will work for me and finally the search is over. I need wide calf (17 inch) and these work well. A little snug but they stretch out a bit after the first few wears. I can even wear leggings, tights and skinny jeans with them. Highly recommend!

I have wide calves and these boots were a lifesaver. The buckles and elastic are quite forgiving, and I think they have a slimming effect on my calves. I bought these in brown, and am probably going to pick up a pair in black, as well. They are very comfy for all day and look great with a skirt or tucked into skinny jeans.

Absolutely freaking love these. When I first put them on, I thought, "Oh. The foot bed is really hard. Will these be comfortable?" 'cause I was thinking of Clarks which are always cushy and comfy. But these turned out to be fine - very comfortable - and the zipper could close on my relatively normal sized calf. I've gone through 2 other styles trying to find something to close over my calf and these work. The buckles extend things just that extra bit more and it looks good to boot. Oh! Looky, looky! I made a pun.

I love these boots. After I received them I thought they were too narrow so I was going to send them back. I don't have wide feet but I like lots of room for my toes. But after shopping for boots I ran out of time and no one had my size in anything so I tried them on again and finally decided to keep them. I'm so glad I did. The leather is very soft, the style is classic and goes with skirts or jeans. I wore them today and they relaxed just enough to give my toes plenty of room to wiggle. Great find. I gave it 4 stars for comfort because there's not much arch support; however, I solved the problem by slipping in my orthotics.

Love, love, love these boots. Stylish, comfortable, high quality, true to size, just wide enough to ear pants tucked in but not to wide that you can't wear with a skirt. Very versatile.

These were very nice boots, stylish, comfortable and well made. I just didn't love the color so had to return them.

The boots are lined, which is awesome, but the most awesome thing about them is that they fit my large calves! I had new holes punched towards the ends and voila, I am super styling!

My calves are on the thinner side (13) and with jeans tucked in they are perfect. They have buckles with three holes on the side and I could probably have another hole made if needed if I wanted to wear with dresses. My foot fits perfectly in the boot. My heel doesn't flop around like some boots I tried on. The leather is beautiful! They are very cute and I am very happy with them.

I love them. I usually wear orthotics but find I can wear these very comfortably without them. Very well made.

This boot is great! It's comfortable and there's plenty of room in the toe box. I like that it has a full zipper so it's easy to get in and out of them and I've got plenty of room in the calf to wear them over jeans. I've worn other shoes by ECCO before and have never been disappointed.

Very elegant looking boot, but I decided it was a little more dressy than I wanted, but it did zip nicely up my 15" circumference calves, but not a lot of extra room. A nice city boot that has style for sure! Unfortunately, I live in the sticks and need a little more casual for everyday.
