With over 75,000 miles recorded in my logbook since 1980, No shoe matches the Brooks Beast. It is simply the best. If I thought the Beast would be discontinued, I would buy 50 of them. Enough said.

My husband loves these shoes - especially after his total hip replacement. However, finding a size 11, 4E width in area stores proved an exercise in futility. On Zappos.com, I discovered them in the right size, ordered them, and had them by the next day - which was a big rescue since that day was the day before Christmas Eve! He loves the brand so much, he has these Beasts in both blue and black now. He's a big-boned/well-muscled Viking kind of guy who is tough on clothes and shoes. Used to be he'd buy heavy clunkers of athletic shoes just to have something he could wear for over a month without them disintegrating. The Brooks Beast apparently can handle any beast on a long term basis, and they look sleek and sexy even in such a large size! They are incredibly lightweight. Perfect for any Sasquach to flit through the underbrush and elude the press. My husband now goes to the gym regularly to try to rehab that hip, and I believe these shoes contribute to his enjoyment now of what was a former dread.

Great for the 'larger' runner. I am 6'5", 220 pounds and these are the only running shoes I will use. They have enough cushion and stability to keep my knees from hurting (due to overpronation). I cannot recommend these shoes enough!

The Brooks Beast is great for people with wide feet or with problem feet due to diabetes 2, etc. I had never seen the shoe with black accent, and think this color is very cool. Most importantly the Beast, for me, is like walking on pillows. Real comfortable.

I'm a bigger guy who runs about 5 miles/day. By big I mean 200 lbs and I'm 6 ft tall. I run in Beast and GTS shoes. These are certainly noticeably thicker in the sole than GTS. They provide quite a healthy cushion. The only downside is they are heavier than the GTS, but I am sacrificing weight for my knees. Finally, these shoes have a more durable sole than the GTS for some reason. It takes me much longer to wear these out. Overall, these are expensive, but well made shoes. I'm on my 2nd pair now. Personally, I don't care for the styling at all, but that's not the point of these shoes.

For a large man, 6'5" and 250lbs., this shoe provides great support and comfort.

This shoe is great! Excellent support all around. Without a doubt, this is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. The first pair was slightly narrower than I was comfortable with, so I took advantage of the free return shipping and got the wider version. Zappos rocks!

My husband is running in these shoes!!!! These shoes are well worth the price. My husband hasn't been able to walk without back pain for almost a year. The first day of wearing these shoes and he felt so great he ran 1/2 a mile! He severely over-pronates, has flat feet, and weighs 230+. His normal shoe size is a 13.5 and a 14 fit perfectly. He normally doesn't need a wide shoe, but he needed a 14 wide in these to have enough room in the toe box. The black/silver looks pretty cool, too! I thought they'd be dorky from the pics, but they look better in person.

The last version of the Beast put a little less emphasis on motion control. Brooks' Beast can be difficult to tell apart from one version to the next. This latest Beast may look similar, but it is a different animal. It's definitely more supportive, which I am very happy about. This shoe does a fine job of controlling a bad case of overpronation and flat arches. The shoe may feel somewhat firm walking around the house, but feels great on the road. Definitely well suited for a big guy 200+ lbs or anyone needing top end motion control and cushioning.

The sneakers are great! I purchased them a few weeks ago after suffering from shin splits. They have reduced the pain in my shins significantly and I cannot be more pleased.

This is my second pair and I still love them. I walk daily so need new shoes every six months. I am not a black and gold type of guy... more a blue and gray but they were out of stock.

Great shoes! Size is true. Workout, walk and golf in these shoes every day of the week. Very comfortable. Lots of support. Big feet, big person.

Very comfortable. I wear custom orthotics from the doctor for PTTD. No problems at all. I wear 9.5 4E and they fit perfect. Looks a little funky but I wear them for comfort 10 to 12 hours per day on my feet and that is what counts for me. Will order another pair to switch out.

My Sasquatch wears a size 11WW and always wears New Balance. After reading some of the reviews, I prevailed upon him to order a pair of these. When he tried them on, he loved them immediately and now walks with a spring in his step! We will be ordering another pair in a different color.

I have bought many sneakers for husband and this is the only brand that works for his extra wide, high arch and high instep. He had another pair that her wore until they died. These last for years. BTW he is also very heavy on shoes.

This is my fifth pair of Brooks Beast running shoes and each revision to this classic shoe is an improvement over the previous pair. I typically get about 750 running miles out of these running shoes and this last pair is by far the best shoe that I have owned.

I received my Beasts today, (which I ordered just yesterday afternoon, yowza!) and instantly after I put the shoes on, they became the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. New Balance 993 being a close second. I've walked a little over a mile so far and if they as long or longer than my average pair of shoes, I will definitely order another pair. My only sort of gripe which isn't much of a gripe at all is that they're slightly more silvery and bright than advertised in the pictures shown. Regardless, these shoes are phenomenal, highly recommended.

These are consistently great running shoes. Perfect fit. Good stability. I've had different knee and plantar fasciitis problems in the past but after my physical therapist recommended these shoes I've been injury free.

I bought this shoe for extra support with my Orthotics while running. They work very well once I replaced the insole with a flatter version...my Orthotics with the supplied large cushioned insole put my heel too high on the shoe. The shoe feels good and very supportive...personally I think it's a little bland in appearance.

This is my second pair. I have support problems and my research pointed me to the Beast as the best shoe on the market for support. I tend to agree.

My second pair of Beasts! They fit true to size and allow enough room for orthotic insoles. I'm 6'3 and 300+ lbs. I need a shoe that provides cushion as well as support. This shoes does exactly that!

This "Beast" is perhaps the best athletic shoe I've ever owned. I use it for running and walking both, because none of my other such shoes serve me as well in either function. The "Beast" provides comfort and security. I'm a believer...in case you didn't get that from what I've already said. I only hope they leave it alone and not try to 'overimprove' it!

Didn't realize the name 'Beast' for about a month after I bought these monsters. I was wearing out my Asics after 100 miles or so, even though they were very comfortable, I wanted to try something different. Brooks Beast have been good so far, heavier than the Asics, but good so far

I was very impressed and satisfied with this product. It is smart looking and more comfortable than I anticipated. Will definitely buy more of their line.

This is an awesome and comfortable shoe, excellent cross trainer. Little heavy for running, but you will get used to the heaviness, as long as the shoes continues to be comfortable.
