These are my first pair of Frye Boots. I'm 5'2" with skinny calves (13 inches). These boots hit 1 to 2 inches above my kneecap (unfolded). They hug my calves just right, not too loose with skinny jeans, so I don't look like I'm playing dress up. The leather feels and smells exquisite - now I know why Frye is so expensive!!! I was hesitant about ordering which size, since reviews say "order half size down or up" so I just ordered my usual 7. I have narrow feet, and I still have about one inch allowance for my toes to move. With these boots, my heels don't lift inside the boots, which is good, because I had that problem when I tried on the Frye Dorado in the store. So far, the ankles haven't dropped or become slouchy. The only thing I don't like about these boots is the sole. I had to put on those traction stickers, so I don't slip and fall on slippery surfaces. Overall, I'm in love with these boots!

Be careful when you buy these boots because when you do...you will want 10 more pairs of Frye boots. These are amazing. I got the black and ordered my normal size (8). They fit amazing! They look so great with skinny jeans and leggings. The leather is so supple and I can tell it will only get better with time. These will last forever! Big investment but if you are looking for great black riding boots, you will not be sorry.

These boots are great -- all the style of knee highs without a heel! Bought these in taupe, in my regular size of 10. Someone suggested ordering down, but I thought the 9 was too tight. I'm very firm on not "breaking in" shoes they should fit well off the bat. Exchanged for my regular size and it fits perfectly with a pair of socks. A very versatile boot.

I am a total high heel girl, even when it comes to boots. I wanted an over the knee pair for Fall this year, and I just do not think the over the knee plus high heel works for me. It is a little too "Pretty Woman" for my taste. While waiting for the torturous 48 hours to receive my purchase, (thanks to the Fourth of July holiday!) I decided I just cannot rock a pair of flat boots and when they arrived I would send them back. Wrong. When I opened the box (just to look before I returned them) I was greeted with these gorgeous, buttery leather boots. Of course I had to try them on (just to remind myself that I do not do flat). Due to their soft and pliable leather they fit like a glove. I have very high arches and have experienced heartbreak over having to send back so many beautiful boots because I could not pull them on over my arches. This especially happens to me with the equestrian style of boots, but not with these. The fit is amazing. I think the zipper on the inside of the boot coupled with the softness of the leather is what allowed me to get them on with ease. I am a size 7 and these are true to size for me. Needless to say they have found a home and are not getting returned. In fact I am typing this review while still wearing them because I cannot bear to take them off. They are perfect for fall with skinny jeans or leggings I cannot wait for Fall to arrive! The length of these boots prevents them from looking clunky due to the low heel. They looked classic and sophisticated and were exactly what I was searching for. If you are on the fence about these go ahead and try them. Thanks to Zappos' Legendary customer service and return policy, you have absolutely nothing to lose. I have been hearing about Frye's workmanship and quality for years now and I have to say they live up to their stellar reputation.

As all the reviews note, this is a beautiful boot. I am very sad to be returning it, because I know I won't find anything of better quality. I planned to wear it with short skirts and mini dresses, and it's just not right for that look--the over-the-knee style makes the leg look like a tree trunk. With jeans or leggings these would be fantastic.

These boots are gorgeous! I'm 5'10" and the size 10 boot was plenty long. It fits perfectly over my knee and looks great up or folded down. The boot scuffs easily, but is equally easy to polish back to perfection. I'm very happy with my investment! I like the close fit around my ankle. Very sexy. Received tons of compliments during my first outing in these boots.

Just got these and I am amazed at how stylish these look on and the wonderful quality of materials and workmanship! The leather is buttery and sturdy with a flattering shape. i was debating between these and the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 for a sleek OTK boot and so glad I chose these. They have a narrow shaft (which I wanted) so it is slimming to my medium width calves. Plus, I believe they are waterproof, though I’ll still treat them, so they are great for wet weather. The Stuart Weitzman's are gorgeous, too, but they cost more and half of that is paying for an elastic fabric backing. No regrets with the Frye Shirley!

I have been looking for over the knee boots for months. Most regardless of price were made of cheap materials and had a poor fit. These Frye "Shirley" boots are wonderful! The quality of the leather is substantial and the fit is heavenly. I immediately waterproofed the leather...3 times and no issues. The boots kept their shape and color. The fit is like a slipper...no pinch points or sloppy spots. The roll over top cuff is very nice. The boot looks great up or rolled down. The photos don't do it justice. Order the boot and try them on yourself...you will see it is the nicest boot you will ever have. I consistently shop at Nordstrom and NM so please believe me when I say this is a great quality item. I ordered them on a Sunday afternoon and received them on a Tuesday...better than going to the store any day.

Bought these boots last year and they are to die for - have two colors and love them. Just wanted to add another review and advise you buy the Woodlore boot trees for them too - the leather is so soft that I found these boot trees work wonders at keeping the creases in control.

I absolutley love these boots. I wanted over the knee and something I could wear around all day without bothering my knee. I did not want much heel. I probably tried 20 pairs before deciding on these. They were a little expensive but feel like I will have them for long time, so worth it. You cannot go wrong with a combination like Frye and Zappos.

I love these boots. I usually run a 8.5 in most shoes, and I ordered that in this boot. But when it came it was too long, so I would suggest ordering a half size down. The boot is awesome. The look is so sexy, and as always with Frye, the quality is there. The look is so sexy with a short skirt.

These are the coolest boots ever. I found the suede tan ones on sale. They are very narrow! Most Fryes are, anyway they are really nice leather, great quality and timeless style. I cannot wait to wear these puppies.

Very nice! I found these on sale and decided to take the plunge. The leather is drop dead beautiful! It is however very narrow in the fore foot. If you don't have narrow feet, these are probably not the boots for you! I'm also tall 5'11, and the boot hits me just right!

True! You will want to get these in every color. So, perfect; shaft, style and circumference. Best looking knee height boots I've ever seen. May not be for someone with big calves though. I've got taupe leather for summer, warm days. Dark brown wax suede for all occasion, this color is so Frye, so country like. Leather is softer than suede. Wish heels are half an inch higher...

I've been waiting for these boots to go on sale for the longest time. When I finally checked yesterday they were down to 290! So excited I placed the order right away, and got them today. Really fast shipping. I'm so glad I bought them. These boots are gorgeous! They are comfortable and absolutely stunning. I cannot wait to wear, these leather boots are perfect!

I love these boots! They were the only color left in a size 10 and I did not expect to like them, but they fit perfectly, and stand out against my jeans without being garish. They tend to pick up dirt but a rubber suede cleaner helps. It can dress up or down. I am 5'10" and have long legs, and would like them to be an inch longer; and they are a bit loose around my calves but within what I would call a good fit.

I love these boots! Totally worth the money. Like other ratings, they are a bit big. I typically wear a 7.5, sometimes 8 as my feet are wide. I returned the 7.5 for a 7 and they fit much better, although a bit tight in the width. Not concerned as they will stretch. Now I want the black pair.

Beautiful boots: the style, the leather, the color are gorgeous. I have to return them because they are too big. I am a size 9 but usually fit 8.5 in boots. I ordered size 8.5 but still 1/2 size too big. Also they are very narrow.

These shoes are awesome. I have wanted them for a while, have been stalking them online, and really it was the reviews that pushed me into buying them. They look great, feel great, and cause people to stop and look. I cannot say enough and well worth the price.

It is everything they promised and more. Easy on and off, true to size; yet with room for a pair of socks; if they are not too thick. Beautiful, comfortable, and chic! Buy it!

I wanted these to work so badly! But in the end I am sending them back. They are beautiful but just don't hit me in the right spot when unfolded. Also, they are a little tight on my calves so my jeans would have to be leggings. Also, with a dress they hit the wrong place on my knee when unfolded. Grrr… My search continues. Darn, since they are so pretty!

After reading the reviews, I decided to forget the price and go for these boots. I have been watching them forever. Alas! I was disappointed. I ordered the black. They are absolutely beautiful. The leather is the high quality one have come to expect from Frye. It is soft and shiny. I went down half a size and the fit was comfortable without socks. However, they were too tight with socks. Also, I am 5'7" with long legs. The shaft fit me at the crook of my knee. It did not go over my knee at all. I needed 2 more inches for it to be an over the knee boot for me. Goodness! I can not seem to find an over the knee boot that is at least a 23" shaft. I also purchased "The Cool People" over the knee boot. It too is of very high quality leather and soft. But, the shaft again does not go over my knees. I guess my search continues.
