I am raving about the white cracked leather Carsons. They are my 3rd pair of Carsons and are much softer, pliant, and take no time to break in, unlike my black pair and my tan pair. They are so much nicer than pic; they are beautiful! They're almost a soft gold or tan, without seeming metallic yet on the verge of it. They are like slippers; I just went to try them on to make sure they fit, and I ended up wearing them for the next six hours! (with no socks) Definitely slightly different (softer) leather than the other plain colors. The fit is perfect, as I always take an 8 in Fryes, and these need no break-in time.(My foot tends toward the wider, but shorter side). I have a lot of Frye boots, and these are the softest pair of any Frye product I own. I would say buy your regular Frye size, or if you have never purchased the brand before, they might run slightly larger, but just a tad, not by much. These are a great neutral and if you do not want a show stopper bright white or bright gold shoe, than this is a good alternative. Go for this color, I am pretty sure you will love it. Note to Zappos:Please reshoot the picture of this white crackle leather shoe (then just try to keep it in stock, and it will be a big hit)!

I wasted my money on these. I wanted to treat myself to a pair of nice leather flats and figured Frye would be my best bet. I knew these would have little to no arch support and that is true, these are really flat for flats. They are comfortable (when you expect no arch support) and the leather molds to your foot. However I am very disappointed in the quality. I have had them for about two years and have worn them occasionally (they are not my everyday shoe) to work (I work in a carpeted office) and to church during the fall and spring (winter is for boots and summer is for sandals) and I am disappointed in how they have worn (see photos) and in spots the soles are separating from the body. This pair of shoes is the most expensive pair I have ever purchased and are the most destructed and worn-out. Do not waste your money unless you plan to only wear them in fields of cotton.

Felt great when I first slipped my feet into them, but after walking around in them for awhile, I realized they are awful! The main issue I can see is that they have no lasting structural integrity; due to the softness of the leather, the sides and back start to buckle in such a way that the shoe loses its shape. You can see the reason for the issue in the video here. If you look closely, you'll see the model's foot arch is partly exposed, and there is a gap. I think if you have high arches, like me, there isn't as much for the shoe to cling to as you wear it. And again, the leather is so soft that it ends up sagging. It sounds like I would need to try a size down to solve the problem, but that is not it.

I just got these shoes today, and straight out of the box, they fit like a glove--as if they were made for my foot. The metallic color is sophisticated, but still stylish, however, the hue is very similar to my skin. I'm not sure if I like that, and was hoping for something that would have more pop. I haven't decided if I will keep them or not yet, but they are a beautiful shoe.

Be careful with the sizing! I followed others' advice to size down. Unfortunately, the shoes were too small. My usual size is 8.5 and in Frye boots I size down to an 8 but this did not hold true for these flats. My advice is to not size down. Too bad because these are really cute flats!

I cannot tell you how much I love these. They're very comfortable. I was worried about the hard sole, but there was nothing to worry about. The shoe bends and gives. I have a few pairs of high end flats with elastic at the heel and can't wear them for long. These don't have that. Love 'em!

These have to be the best quality/well made flats. I've purchased Frye boots before and was familiar with the brand but I'm extremely pleased with these shoes. Now I probably wouldn't wear these to disney land but for work or a casual day out they're perfect.

I tried for months to find a flat that looked good and was comfortable. After four pair I found these gems.
I have them in 3 colors. I don't expect them to have arch support since they are flats. I have high arches. That said, they had better arch support than any other ballet flat I tried on or bought before. A bonus is the cut of the shoe, with my high arch, actually provides much needed ventilation for my feet, which can be an issue.
I wear them all day at my job as an activities professional at an assisted living facility, and they are comfortable and look professional.
They run slightly large, to the extent that I ordered an 8 1/2, but often 8 1/2 is the actual fit for me; sometimes it is 9. If you alternate between two sizes, I recommend buying these in the smaller size.
Also, they required no "breaking-in". The first time, each pair felt like I'd worn it 50 times.

None. I tried many brands & these are best for a flat.

Best ballet flats I have ever owned. They fit like a glove. They do not rub any part of my foot. I have worn them all day long walking around campus and I feel nothing but comfort. I have owned several expensive flats in the past and after walking a while they all rub/bother my foot in one area or another, but not this flat. I didn't think it was possible. I'm buying another pair today and that's what made me want to write this review. I have the snake print (which I love). I'm purchasing the metallic today and I can't wait until they arrive.

Every once in a while I get a brilliant brain storm as in the case of purchasing these shoes. I had an elegant chocolate brown gown to wear to my son's wedding and needed shoes with a little bedazzle. Every pair I tried on were super uncomfortable and I knew I'd be miserable and even if they did fit, I would never wear them again. So I had the brilliant idea to try the Frye Carson Ballet in dark brown. I then bought the little rhinestone shoe clips to dress them up a bit for that occasion. I have really tough feet to fit as they are flat and a bit wide, size 11. Tugboats, in other words. Well, I received these today and they fit me really well, my feet were a bit swollen when I tried them on after a long day of work in 90 degree weather so I think they'll be even better in November when my feet are normal. I put the clips on and voila! Dressy shoes that I can remove the clips from and wear a million more times. Wow. I'm just so dang smart. The only downside to this whole thing is I want a pair in every single color now. I have learned that it definitely pays to spend more on good shoes that are timeless than to buy cheap shoes that I'll wear only a few times. Thank you Freye for making such fabulous products..I'm a devotee as I also have three pair of Freye boots, the only things that make me look forward to winter.

I've been looking for a shoe like this for a long time and it was worth the price. The Cognac Leather isn't too orange in real life like some other shoes I've gotten. The leather is soft and doesn't rub. It fits snug so that the back doesn't fly off my foot when I walk. The shape looks cute with just about anything. I would buy these in more colors.

These flats are great! As usual, with Frye I had to order a half size down, but the fit is perfect, absolutely no breaking in, comfy from the start. None of the weird buckling on the sides that can often happen with ballet flats. Well constructed; really nice leather.

Love them! Beautiful and classic. I sized down to a 7 (usually wear 7 1/2 to 8). I have a narrow heel but am wide-ish across the toes, and the fit is perfect--I don't feel squished at all like I sometimes do in other brands. However, I can see how these might be too wide for some ladies, if you have a narrow foot.

Darling! I was looking for a solid flat with no embellishment and Frye really delivered. The fit was true to size, and very flattering. I got the dark brown and it is a beautiful, natural tone. I wear these every chance I get. If they came in black I know I would never wear another shoe again!

Beautiful leather on these shoes. I listened to the other comments about size and ordered these in an 8 (I usually wear 8.5) but when they arrived I felt they were too small. Sadly they are now sold out in an 8.5 in the color I wanted. I am on the wait list for an 8.5 so I ordered them in a different color, we'll see if I like them or not, they may work out great. I called Zappos and spoke to a customer service rep. He was so helpful! He told me where I was on the waiting list and how many pairs of the shoe they expected to get back in stock. I am a V.I.P. with Zappos. I have been ordering from Zappos since they started and I love Zappos!

I have several colors in this style and find they run true to size; I'm an 8 in every shoe. If you have a wide/thick foot, you may want to size up a half size. I have wider toes, but a flatter foot. They do stretch and conform to your foot, so you don't want to start out with them feeling too loose. The leather is soft and the shoes wear well. They are my go to flats for every occasion.

These shoes were so comfortable from the get-go and the yellow color is great. I get compliments on them each time I wear them! They stain easily, so I have to figure out the best way to clean/protect them, but I'd love to get them in another color. They are a tad too big, but going down a size would surely be too small. I normally wear a 9 in Frye, but I ordered the 9.5 for these and they worked out.

Definitely order a half-size larger. These were too short, & I never had a problem with other Frye shoes. Otherwise, beautifully made shoe. Wish I could get it in a more practical color (black or brown), but they seem to be nearly sold out in all colors! Word to shoe makers: women will always buy a well-made, stylish comfortable flat!
