These shoes are immediately comfortable: perfect heel height, plenty of room in the toe, and the heel area is not too wide (if, like me, your feet verge on being "duck feet," this is a big deal). They are true to size (I usually wear a 9B in Frye boots, and the 9B in these fits perfectly). I have a pair of Carson Perf Oxfords, as well, which, apparently, Frye does not make any longer. I wish they would, because the Carson Perfs have a bit more style than these. Both styles, however, are extremely comfortable, even if they make your feet look just a tad big.

These are amazing...comfortable the moment I put them on. Look great with jeans and I wore them with a dress too and had compliments also.

These are gorgeous! They do run rather large though. I have Frye Engineers, and Veronica Slouch boots that are size 9. I have a pair of Frye Campus boots that are a size 8.5. I originally ordered these in an 8.5 and they were still a little loose, I swapped them for an 8 and they're perfect. My only complaint is that these shoes have some scuff marks on the bottom, so I'm guessing they were returned by another customer. For the price I hate that they seem worn, but I love them and they are the last size 8 so I'm just going to get over it.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOE! I have discerning taste and high standards when it comes to a good oxford. These felt incredibly comfortable the instant I put them on and survived a day of retail (standing on feet all day). Also, these look infinitely more expensive than they are. They can hold court with a Maison Martin Margiela, Comme Des Gar ons, or Dieppa Restrepo Heel. Want one in every color. I am an 8 1/2-9 in shoes and the 8 1/2 fits perfectly.

Fabulous shoes. I have several pairs of Fryes but I am not a blind follower, if you know what I mean. If I like them, I keep them. If I am not head over heels, back they go. I bought these shoes to "fill in the gap" between my tall boots and flats. I decided to try the Carson Oxfords. I wear them with boot cut jeans and they look like boots peeking out. I will wear them with tights/dresses and skinny jeans and let the Oxford-ness show through. They are comfortable but took a bit of breaking in. Not because they were causing blisters but because I needed to become accustomed to a heel with no ankle support, if that makes sense. The shoe accommodates an orthotic nicely and is of obvious quality. Sizing? I am a solid 9 in shoes. I played the typical "Frye Sizing Game" and ordered a 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear. I ordered these in an 8.5 and they fit perfectly. I can wear trouser socks or heavier socks and there is no issue, either way. Great, solid "go-to" shoe. A keeper.

I've had these shoes on my mind for awhile - I love Frye boots and have a few pairs, but wanted these oxfords to wear with jeans, pants and skirts. The black color was out of stock in my size for while, but as soon as it was back, I pounced! They were at my desk the next day, and my co-workers oooh'd and ahhh'd along with me when I opened the box. They smell terrific, I love fresh leather shoe smell! I tried them on with a pair of socks, and they were extremely comfy, right out of the box! I have very narrow feet, and I find these shoes to be completely true to size for me - they feel roomy and comfortable in the toe box, and the heel is great as well. I wore them all day and night without a twinge of discomfort. I love the look of them, they're easy to wear casually and dressed up. My only caution is that they can be kind of slippery, so be careful on surfaces like flat office carpeting. (I almost went flying when I rounded a corner!) I'm so glad I was able to finally get these, I know they'll be a staple in my wardrobe for years to come, due to their great construction. If you care for your Frye's (buy a tin of the conditioner, you'll be happy you did!), they will be your trusty shoe friends for a very long time!

Wow. These shoes are a knock out! I love them, they're well made, hands down all leather and comfortable. This has been one of the best purchases I've made. I am tempted to buy a second pair! Great buy!

Great looking shoe. This is my second attempt with this shoe. Ordered a full size smaller than normal to get a fit. No, none, zero, zip arch support in this shoe. Not worth the money. Going back.

This is my second pair of Frye Carson oxfords. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I stand for 8 to 10 hours a day and never have problems with my feet or legs. I get many compliments from co-workers and strangers alike. They are wonderfully comfortable right out of the box. I want a third color! Also look great with dresses, slacks and skirts.

I am in love with this shoe! The pictures don't do it justice...check out the video to see the best view. I purchased the cognac and it is a rich brown color that will coordinate with just about anything. I originally ordered the James Boot because I wanted an ankle boot style but they were incredibly painful and didn't really look like me once I put them on. After trying to decide on the Carson Boot or Oxford, I leaned toward the Oxford because of the unique style...masculine but feminine at the same time. Ordered a 6 and it fits perfectly! Fantastic shoe that you will not regret purchasing!

These shoes are great. They fit comfortably snugly on my almost-wide feet. Virtually no break-in needed, and I look forward to wearing these for years. The greyish color goes with almost anything.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and they look amazing. Frye is an insanely reliable brand, I had my last 2 pairs of Fryes for at least 5 years.

These shoes are comfortable and very stylish. They are a bit slippery on on the bottom but taps will solve that. Gorgeous shoes.

I always wear a size 8. My Frye Melissa logos are and 8. In this shoe I had to go down a half size to the 7 1/2. They are extremely comfortable. I am an international flight attendant and wore them from Atlanta to Johannesburg the first day.

Very comfortable shoe. Beautifully made. The toe is somewhat "pointier" than I expected, so worn with jeans, the shoes almost look like cowboy boots. But I love the shoes anyway!

Okay, I ordered these on a whim. I have a wide foot actually it is a pretty wide foot and looking at the other reviews I went a half size down which was scary because of the width, but I am glad I did go half size down because the shoes are a little on the long side. I thought these will never fit but no worries since Zappos is excellent with their returns. Well, I put them on and fell in love. Yes, they were not wide enough but with a purchase of a shoe stretcher (did not want to wait for break in period) They fit fantastic. Love these shoes. Saving up for them in brown. I just wish Frye would do wides, their shoes are such nice quality.

If possible I would wear these shoes everyday. The leather is gorgeous and heel height makes them a bit more feminine than the typical oxford. I also like that the toe is more almond shaped than round. You won't be disappointed with these great shoes. Based on other comments, I originally ordered these in a half size smaller than my typical shoe size. I returned them for my regular size.

This is my favorite pair of shoes, I can wear them every day! They have a nice feminine profile that makes them look great with a business suit without being too tom-boyish. They felt broken in right from the start and have great support. I usually wear a size 8 but the Frye Carson Oxford size 7 1/2 fits me fine. They make me feel sassy when I walk down the hall in them! Highly recommend these shoes.

LOVE these shoes! They have the feel of a boot, but without the ankle restrictions. They're stylish and they make me feel like I STRUT when I wear them, and it's a nice feeling! The only reason I gave 4 stars on comfort is, they don't have a lot of cushion and I have tired feet. Doesn't stop me from wearing them, but I can't wear them more than a couple of times a week without my feet hurting.

I love Frye boots but sometimes do not want to wear a boot. I was looking for a shoe to wear with trousers to work. These will work. The leather seems stiffer than usual and the top of the shoe near the heel will need some breaking in. However, I think they will become very comfortable and will last a long time.

These are wonderful shoes and everywhere I look in NYC - people are wearing them. No break-in required; super comfortable footbed; I can walk for miles in these.

The Frye Carson oxford is fantastic. I got a pair in smoke. I wore them right out of the box, all day at work for a a week and they were perfect. Comfortable and attractive. Really stable for walking. Can't recommend them enough.
