I suffer from plantar fasciitis and walk a lot on city streets. I mean hours of walking at a time. I have spent a countless sum of money trying to suppress the inflammation. I have Finn Comfort (good but the sole wears quickly on hard concrete), Ecco, Zamberlan and now the NB 2002. The 2002 is fantastic. No pain, great cushioning but without an squishiness, and a surprisingly natural feel to the footbed. It feels as if you are barefoot but with cushioning modules and an arch support on the bottom of your feet. Expensive? Yes, but they deliver extraordinary comfort and look good, if not a bit subdued, as well.

New Balance is one of my favorite brands of shoes, which is why I was willing to spend this kind of money on a pair of shoes. These shoes are amazing! They give you solid support, comfort, and keep my feet feeling good after running a few miles. These shoes are worth the money!

The shoes look great and feel great. The first day I wore them I knew I had found what I was looking for, an extremely comfortable and supportive shoe that was made in the USA.

One of the most comfortable running shoes I ever owned. Almost feels like the shoe became part of my feet yet offers great support because I need a very special shoe for a very damaged foot and ankle problem. Don't run, I use elliptical up to 12 miles per day.

Recently, I had a bunion surgery before coming here to Balad, Iraq. The shoes I had were not giving me the proper support I needed and were causing me to have back pain. Now normally, I would not have spend this much in the states but given the reviews and my situation - why not? I ordered these shoes and am glad that I did. They got here in less than five days. These are by far the best shoes that I have ever owned in my life period; especially in my size, 13 4E which is a challenge in itself. I am considered a heavy runner as well as heavy stepper, 6', 240 pounds, flat footed. If you fall in the same category as me, please spend the extra money and go the distance. You will be glad you did.

New Balance nailed it on the head with their flagship 2002 shoe. You will not find a better shoe than this on the market. Style, comfort, quality, response to the max. Been wearing high end NB all my life and have not come across a pair quite like this! Well done!

Great shoe lots of support, great quality, made in America. I always like New Balance Shoes, Pricey but you get what you pay for. If you have the means I highly recommend you pick some up!

Great sneaker, took time to break in, but once they were very comfortable and a lot of support. I have worn 993 for years and this sneaker I believe is worth the extra money providing they wear well.

Great shoes. Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned, though a bit pricey.

For years I have been buying both running and walking shoes, but always end up with pain along the outside edge of my right foot (I'm heavy, under-pronate and have a high arch). Just last week, I walked into the New Balance store wearing a brand new pair of 993's, and was still in pain while researching the idea of purchasing the new 2002 model running shoes. Yesterday, I received my new shoes and put them on, and went walking. No pain! The cushioning is like a pillow under my feet! The fit is wonderful and the craftsmanship is superior (as you would expect for a pair of running shoes at this price), and the shoe looks like a work of art. In my case, the money I save by not needing to purchase custom made orthotics (which was my next step), pays for the price of the shoes. Money well spent for my situation. I am getting ready to purchase a second pair so I can rotate them daily. If you're in the market for a neutral cushioned running shoe, this model might be worth considering.

Spend the money. Buy the shoe. I normally wear size 13 in running shoes, but was a half size too large. 12.5 EE was perfect.

Fit as expected from NB but they seem to have a bit more cushion and, while they are more expensive than the others, I think worth the extra cost.

My 993's were more comfortable, but these appear to have better shock absorption. I run about 3-3.5 miles, twice a week on pavement (varied terrain around the neighborhood). With the old running shoes (New Balance 993), my knees got sore. While these are not as comfortable as the 993's, my knee pain is gone. So it would seem that the shock absorption is superior in the MR2002. While the width is less generous in the new shoes, it is sufficient. I do have wide (EEE) feet. I recommend the shoe.

I currently have the 993 and love them but they are getting old. I found the 993 to have more cushion than the 2002. I do like the looks of the 2002 better and will keep them. They do fit very well and snug. 10.5EE Super fast ship. Zappos is the only place I buy my shoes.

Was a little leery because of price, but shoes are as comfortable as ever. If they last longer than most nb it will be well worth the price!

I was very excited with this release, as I\'d worn the NB 2000\'s and 2001\'s for the last 10 years. However, after giving the 2002 a month long try, I\'ve found the sole too narrow for my needs. I just feel tippy in them. They are measurably narrower than both the previous models and just don\'t feel stable on my feet. They are quite comfortable, but just don\'t work for me.

I was pretty excited when I saw these online. They look great in person, fit very well, and are made in the USA. But for the price, they aren't really more comfortable than the lower number New Balance that I have owned. Unless you can't live without them, I'd recommend considering a lower number New Balance and saving a few bucks.

Great styling, but New Balance missed the mark on comfort. Save your money and buy 993's. I returned these shoes and ordered two pairs of more comfortable shoes. I've owned many pairs of New Balance shoes and I cannot recommend these.

Had to return these. For this price I want perfection. There is a metal band, similar in shape to a horseshoe, that runs around the perimeter of the toe area. Not sure why it is there, but it is uncomfortable.

The shoe is at least a full size to small and incredibly narrow through the entire front section. Compared to the previous version of this model this shoe is an entirely different fit. Other than the fit, it appears to be very well made and probably worth the money. My rating actually zero because I could not put the shoe on my foot.

I am a long time New Balance user. They just fit. I saw the 2002 and they looked similar to my old cheap 477 so I thought I would give them a try. Yes, they are expensive! Are they worth it? We will see how long they last, but they are really comfortable! I bought the same size, 12 EE, and they are perfect. I ordered them at 5:00 PM on Friday and opened the box at 10:00 AM on Monday. That was using the free shipping!
