My husband, who is very choosy, loved these as soon as he put them on. He said they were much more comfortable than other more expensive walking shoes he has purchased in the past. He has only worn them a few times, but says there is no break-in period, they are that comfortable. We both like the idea that the tan color will go with both casual pants and shorts, and he won't be limited to the usual white color. (My husband won't buy white athletic shoes--he doesn't want to worry about them getting dirty!) Overall, a great casual walking shoe, especially for those who need a wider width shoe.

I ordered these shoes because a reviewer complained the shoes weren't suitable for fast walking and were "old man" shoes. At 80 I guess I'm an old man. The shoes are very comfortable, excellent walking shoes and they don't look like geriatric specials.

I really like these shoes! Due to many back surgeries and ongoing issues, I tend to walk with a limp. When wearing these shoes, the limp is much less pronounced, possibly due to the stabilizing doodad in the heel? Very comfortable, nice looking too.

These are the best (by far) walking shoes/sneakers I have ever experienced. Just great! Heartily recommended.

The first pair were a bit tight, but Zappos took fast care of my problem. The New Balance MW812 is a great shoe.

These shoes are absolutely great if you work as a server or are on your feet for extended periods of time. They are extremely comfortable and offer much need arch support. They are well constructed and hold up well to dirt and grime.

My husband (a big man) has been wearing these for the last 5 years. The only time he wears anything else is with a suit. Very comfortable.

I bought these shoes for my husband to replace a pair of 811 that I accidentally gave away. As the 811 is no longer available and the 812s looked similar, I ordered the 812s. My husband wore them to work (without breaking them in around the house at my suggestion), and after a full day on his feet, said they felt great (his feet and the shoes!) I am going to order a brown pair, too!

I seldom write reviews but I am compelled to write and say these are wonderful shoes! I've worn New Balance for years and have had multiple pairs of the 810 model that preceded the 812. The 812 is the most comfortable shoe I've worn. I like to walk, a lot, but I pronate badly. These support my feet and ankles wonderfully. I don't think you can go wrong with the 812!

My son has wide feet--EE. He wears New Balance almost exlusively--it's his go-to shoe for fit and comfort. This size is nearly impossible to find locally--thank goodness NB makes them and Zappos has them:)I love the Zappos VIP--getting them the next day is almost like going to the local store--without having to leave the house!

Comfortable, easy to clean, serviceable shoe. Purchased these for my son who works in a commercial kitchen setting. Would definitely purchase again!

This particular style and model was recommended to me by a friend. I was happy to find it on the Zappos site and, of course, it was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect order. I am recovering from a back problem, and these shoes are just right for the situation: lightweight, comfortable, and good-looking as well.

I was in search of a walking shoe to take the place of the Reebok walking shoes that I finally wore out. The new Reebok walkers were way to stiff (hard walking), and not nearly as comfortable as the New Balance MW812 model. Since I was replacing the Reebok's I had in three different colors, (white, black, and bone), I purchased the New Balance in all three colors. Very few walkers come in bone, which is actually beige in color. The New Balance MW812 are comfortable, keeps your foot very stable specially if you enjoy walking at a swift pace, and can be worn for several hours without any discomfort. This particular shoe is also stylish and not bulky looking. I normally wear a size 11 or 11 1/2, and with this particular style, the 11 1/2 was more comfortable. This model shoe costs more than there competitors, but it was worth it. I tried four (4) other brands before I selected the New Balance MW812 model. If you are looking for a good all around walking/touring shoe, I believe you have found the right one with the New Balance MW812. I hope this review was of value to you. Happy trails!

Good looking and comfortable. Works will with orthotics. The only negative about this shoe is that the laces are too long and drag the floor. Be prepared to buy a shorter set. I can definitely recommend this shoe and will purchase it again in the future.

These shoes are very comfortable. I wear them all day and forget I have them on. After 4 months of almost daily wear they've held up very well. They appear well made and seem like they'll last for a few years. The only downside is the puffy laces they come with that loosen up easily and need frequent reties. Replace them, and all is good.

The shoe is comfortable, reliable (so far), and I really appreciate being able to have a quality size 14 6E walking shoe for my line of work. Ordered these on a Wednesday morning free shipping, these bad boys were at my house waiting on me Friday when I got home from work. BIG shout-out to Zappos.com for that fast delivery.

I always order a size bigger in any walking shoe I buy. I normally wear a size 7 and I got these in size 8 and they fit perfect.

I bought these to replace another brand. The previous pair were more money and from a reputable outlet. These are the most comfortable pair I have had in many years. By the end of the first day at work I forgot they were on my feet. The upper leather is soft and comfortable which brings me to my only concern. The leather above my toes is so soft that I am concerned about longevity but for now the comfort wins out.

Bought these on a Podiatrist recommendation for hubby with severely arthritic feet. Had to have something that would accommodate his custom orthotics. These are awesome! So good that we are buying another pair and he'll be wearing nothing but these shoes! He has very wide, flat feet and these are perfect for him.

I am A person with a partial foot amputation. My medical staff fitted me for this exact brand/model of shoe with an orthotic insole. I then ordered additional colors through Zappos. The manufacturer insole is removable and my exact orthotic insole fits perfectly. I wear the black as a dress shoe and the white for casual.

These shoes are great for a heavy man. They are the only thing we found that are comfortable to wear for long periods of time on your feet. We buy a new pair every 6 months. Highly recommend.

Pretty great quality, they feel good, Zappos shipped them quickly. I feel good because they are (mostly) made in America. This is why I am a repeat customer.

Love these shoes. Was concerned that simulated leather top would be a problem which might make shoes feel hot to the feet, but no such problem. Shoes could not be more comfortable.
