I usually wear a size 8 1/2, but I ordered these in an 8. They fit very well. I think a 9 would have been a little too big. These shoes are very cute. The platform is very stable and easy to walk in. My only compaint is that after a long hot day, my foot sticks and the top rubs on my toes.

I bought these because I also have the black letter/suede pair and I absolutely love them. The leather ones were comfortable from day one. This cork version took more time. They felt tighter from the beginning and the toe section was much tighter and more narrow than the leather version. I expect they just don't give as well. However, I put shoe stretchers in them and it helped immensely. They are still not as comfortable as the leather versions, but they are still nice feeling and the look is fantastic. I would purchase them again and recommend them!

I bought a pair of super cute Korkease sandals and the 'top leather' COMPLETELY separated from the laminated 'under leather' of the straps. I had worn them maybe 5 times. ridiculous! I was so disappointed in the low low construction quality. I would never buy this brand again, even though I think they are cute and pretty comfortable for a "heel".

Comfortable for the height. I really wanted to love these, but unfortunately, when I wear them, they are clunky feeling, like I have a pair of bricks under my feet. A bit heavy, I have platforms similar in price that are lighter and more secure on. These always never felt secure somehow, I just always feel like there is too much shoe. It also always makes anything I wear look frumpy and bogged down. It may be because the front platform is angled upward...the vintage ones were straight and flat which looked much more refined and chic. Mine just sits in the closet, I wore it once, it made my cute sundress look "flintstonian", not boho chic.

These sandals had the right combination of fun style and comfort. I've never paid this much for casual sandals before but I couldn't resist them so I bought them last summer. They only run in whole sizes and I wear a 7 1/2. I made the mistake of buying the size 8, I thought the 7 would be too small. What I didn't realize is that the leather would stretch. So at the beginning of the summer they fit but after wearing them several times, they stretched out and now they are too big on me. If you wear a 1/2 size, I'd recommend going down a size as the leather does stretch. I wish I knew that before I bought the size 8.

I have several pair of these Kork-Ease Avas and have always loved them. I just tried to wear the new pair I got in black, and they are actually painful. They feel stiff and tight and there is no way I can wear them. So I started looking at them and comparing them to my other Kork-Ease Avas and discovered that they have changed the leather on all the straps. This leather is not soft natural leather on the underneath side of the straps, but instead is lined with a smooth material and is stiff rather than soft and giving like I have always known Kork-Ease to be. I cannot believe that they would change what was already perfect by replacing it with something like this. Sadly, I cannot wear these Kork-Ease Ava's and I am going to have to return them.

These are so cute. I have the Ray Bans...so I knew I would like the look. Sadly the fit was very odd. They were the right length, but too wide in the toe area, and I slid forward in them. Glad Zappos has such a great return policy!

I've worn Kork-Ease before but never seen them in this unique all over cork look. Their comfort and style and versatility cannot be beat and neither can Zappos - an amazingly friendly, helpful, "hip" staff that makes ordering, delivering and solving any dilemma "Easey". You're great!

Let me start by saying that I really love these shoes - they are comfortable and look great. So I'm sad to say that I cannot endorse the quality. The elastic that secures the ankle strap buckle loses its elasticity very quickly and compromises the fit and potentially the safety of the shoe. I'm on my second pair (thanks Zappos! They were awesome about sending a replacement with absolutely no hassle) and the same thing just happened. I'll still wear the shoes but they won't be my everyday shoe as they just don't seem to hold up. I've had some low-end shoes that have been much more durable, which is surprising.

The leather these shoes are made of is very stiff. One spot along the front edge wore away very easily. I covered it with a magic marker. I do like the nice platform. The quality is very average.

Like many other reviewers, these were my favorite from my childhood. I bought this very pair - Ava, vachetta, about 4-5 yrs ago on Zappos. They were fab! Just like I remembered them. They were soft right out of the box and grew quickly to accomodate my EEE width foot (yes, you read that right, not a typo, though I wish it was). No break-in period needed, just straight-up comfort all the way. Even with the high heels, they were my go-to summer shoe, until the leather strap finally gave way and broke beyond repair. Since then, I've wanted a new pair, but experimented with the brown "textured" ones a couple yrs back. These were completely different - stiff leather, which I attributed to the texture. I kept them but they never broke in, were never really comfy, and also ended up breaking (but were repairable). Finally, I gave in and ordered my original favorite. Received them today. And it was nothing by disappointment. I agree with the other reviewers who said the leather is stiff, etc. and looked to see if they too, were made in China. Sadly, they were. No more supple, soft, Brazilian leather that just gets better with age. Couldn't even get my Fred Flintstone feet into them. Kork-Ease, if you're out there and read these reviews, PLEASE stop making these in China, and, if you continue, have the integrity to NOT label them as "The Original" because, truly, they are anything but. So back they go and I am shoeless once again with no hope in sight, sigh. (I'm really kicking myself for not having invested in a back-up pair sooner when they were made well.)

I've been looking for this exact shoe and was so excited to find it. It arrived today and unfortunately, the front is so stiff it feels like I'd have to wear it for a year before it gets broken in...I don't think my toes would survive it. I am so sad because I really do like the look of this shoe but it has to go back!

Such a bummer! The shoes I received were made in China and have a piece of elastic at the ankle buckle. This elastic causes the ankle strap to stretch and contract with each step which is highly annoying. I have a pair of the taller Kork Ease wedges and there is no elastic and the strap is much more stable. My old pair were made in Brazil. The leather on the Chinese pair is much thicker, stiffer and darker than my Brazilian pair.

I have had four pairs of Kork-Ease sandals and two were the Ava Style. I love the style and comfort but I won't purchase them again. I bought one pair in late fall of 2013. I wore them a bit in 2014 and then wore them regularly for about a month in 2015. I wore them to drive to work and at an office (not a lot of walking). After the few weeks of wear in 2014, the elastic holding the buckle stretched out and was no longer flexible. I was going to take them in to get repaired but yesterday, after just another month of wear one of the straps came out of the sole. That is unfixable. So, I got less than two months wear from sandals that cost a lot. My first pair of Ava's held up quite a bit better. I purchased a pair of Ava 2.0s earlier this summer and I'm hoping they'll get me through the summer. But, that pair already looks terrible because the leather is basically unfinished and spotted in the rain. I'll be trying other brands from now on. The quality is just too poor considering the price.

I have owned two different styles of Kork-Ease. BOTH pair kept coming unglued. I spent as much on repairs as I did on the shoes! They were like having a bad car. Always in the shop! Bad glue? Quality control issues? The shoes are so cute, but I finally pitched both pair and bought something I knew I could depend on. Cant believe they are still in business!

Was excited waiting for these and ordered a 1/2 size up as suggested. Disappointed - too large in the toe box. Old lady shoes. Wished I had watched the video before ordering. Returning - definitely not worth the price.

Save your feet! Absolutely love Kork-Ease. Have several styles in both sandals and clogs and can wear them all day. But the Ava style is not one of them. I teach and am on my feet all day and have tried repeatedly to break these in. Was in tears by the time I got home the last time I tried to wear these. Even ordered a 2nd pair to see if the first pair were just miss-sized. Can't imagine how differently they fit. They will go in the yard sale pile...makes me sad because I love the color and style. But I love my feet more.

Beautiful shoes but the elastic at the buckle wore out on a matter of months. I replaced the shoes with the same pair and the same issue with the second pair. Considering duct tape now.

These are beautiful shoes. I followed advice in other comments and sized up. Glad I did - many European sizes are a little off and my usual size 10/41 doesn’t necessarily always fit. The 10 is sometimes a 40, and a tad too small. These, in 11, are a great fit.

Wore this shoe in the 70's and LOVE them today... the leather was not stiff, I put the shoe on right out of the box and wore them with no problems at all... they feel true to size, love the color, love the height of the shoe, love that they bring back HUGE memories of when I first bought them many years ago... they were a great shoe then and are a GREAT shoe today...

LOVE, these shoes... like many others, i too had a pair of these shoes many years ago when they first came out and they were my FAVORITE sandal... the bottom is not too narrow that you feel like you are going to fall over... and THANK YOU ZAPPOS for being so patient... i LOVE this style and for those who said the leather was stiff, for me i was expecting to have to work with the leather, but OMGOSH! no they are softer than i was expecting... so WIN WIN! again thanks to ZAPPOS! Live in AZ so i can wear these all year round...

I had my first pair of these shoes in the 70s and can't imagine why I waited this long for my second pair. They will never go out of style and I had forgotten how comfortable they are. I usually wear size 8-1/2 shoes but in this style the 8 fits me perfectly. (I have several other Kork-Ease styles, including some in size 9.) The leather ages beautifully. Thumbs up.

I've only worn these once. They are super cute. The leather is a bit stiff and kind of dug into the top of my foot a bit. It was not painful to the point I won't wear them, but I am hoping the leather will soften over time.

I wore these in college in the '70s and am so glad they're back! I prefer the Myrna wedge height in the natural color leather. I'm not seeing them right now in Zappos, so I hope they will come back soon. I also love the colors. So summery and cute!

I absolutely love these wedge shoes! I wear them every day work and I have a desk job. They look great with dresses and skirts. I have many ladies stop and asked were I got them from. I have them in every color. I am not a person that can wear flat sandals and have tried many times. But these are just like wearing flats and much more Comfy feeling. I would highly recommend buying these! Love, love, love these shoes!
