These are a little stiff at first, but they definitely loosen up very well with use. The removable insole seems stupid because beneath it looks like the woven fiber of the shoe. It seems like a pretty cheap shoe, but it is not necessarily cheaply made, it is decent for its price and is a very nice style.

A cool, comfortable shoe for relaxing. The material is breathable and is well suited for hot environments. I love mine, but have to admit this is not a "good choice" for those looking for solid foot support.

I was looking for some summer shoes to wear sans-socks. My feet tend to sweat quite a bit, so I was kind of disappointed that a pair of OluKais I got caused my feet to sweat too much to wear without socks. So, I picked these up. Still wear the OluKais more often during the days around the office, but these are a nice change of pace. And, my feet don't sweat near as much in these as they do in my OluKais (I got the hemp ones). The size seems to be fairly snug, or at least they were at first. They do stretch a bit, width-wise, after you've worn them a little. And, there's no arch support whatsoever, but I really like that. Very low profile and light. That's why I got them. Now, after wearing them and being on my feet about a full day, I can say they are pretty comfortable.

This is the perfect beach shoe. Very lightweight and flexible. I wore these around for an entire day when I first got them and I had no pains in my feet. It is almost as if you are wearing nothing at all. I thought they were going to be a little higher up on the ankle but I am still pleased with my purchase. Probably should be priced cheap though.

Come on. Zappos rocks and so do their products. I dig the sneakers. However, this style of sneaker is made for style and comfort, not hiking or any extra curricular activity of that nature. Overall, I knew what I wanted and the price I wanted to pay. I'm happy with my purchase and will continue to support Zappos.

Very nice! Very lightweight. I have worn lowtop Converse All-stars for years, but decided I wanted something similar in fit, but different in style. Initially I just wanted Vans or Keds canvas shoes, but I saw these on sale, tried them on, and walked out with them! I like the removable insole since I wear these without socks. Look great with or without laces. Sometimes I slip them on like clogs (with the back laying down), and they have held up well! Only problem is the way the tongue is sewn, it leaves weird creases on the top. I'd buy a size smaller if you plan to wear without socks.

For me, these took awhile to break in. There was a part that rubbed against my foot, and almost gave me a blister. One of my shoes feels smaller, but maybe it's just my foot. Oh well, worth the money.

Great looking shoe style-wise but they lack support if you're going to be on your feet all day. I still dig them though. Great bang for your buck.

Comfortable. Little narrow from front and wish it comes with different sole (other than rubber). Worth the price and as always best buying experience from Zappos.

These shoes are classic, comfortable boat shoes. Nice, easy going, perfect for the short walk to the grocery store on Sunday afternoon, or a low key evening out at a dive bar. Not much to the structure of them (don't expect arch support) but just a nice, simple, straightforward comfortable shoe that breathes well and adds to an easy going style with a little prep thrown in.

I've been looking for a pair of minimal shoes to replace my aging (and discontinued?) Onitsuka Tiger Tai Chis, and so far these have proved to be a suitable replacement. The Rata Vulc has a very thin, flexible sole, which may be an odd feeling if you're used to thick cushioning. I wasn't fond of the raised heel on the insoles, so I replaced them with some cheap flat insoles. The seams on the inside of the hemp uppers caused some chafing initially, but the shoes quickly formed to my feet and the problem was non-existent after a couple days. The laces are just enough to keep your feet from sliding back and forth in the shoe (a problem I had with the Sanuk Standard). I've been wearing them constantly for about two months, mostly at my job, a retail store with hardwood and cement floors. My only concern so far involves the white rubber bumper that goes along the outside wall of the whole shoe. It has begun to chip off slightly where my feet bend at the toes. I don't know if it will get worse; only time will tell.

Casual khaki-cloth, low-cut shoe. It's very attractive to wear with shorts or swimwear, especially if you're looking to avoid the white sneaker look.

These shoes are pretty bomb for the most part. Mad lightweight, like wearing shoes that are really light. If you're kickin' it during the summer nothing beats these beasts. Super slick looking too. Ladies ate it up. But these things fell apart on me after a few months. Totally wack! But I still would buy them again if I had the liquid assets.

Not terribly pleased with these shoes, although they look like the shoes I wanted. The stitch quality is noticeably uneven around the toes and looks shabby. My feet fit most all shoes comfortably but these run narrow to the point that they flare over the outsole in the middle. Generally uncomfortable and definitely not supportive. I have never worn Vans before and I will never bother with them again.

Good shoes to skate in but wouldn't recommend buying them. They rip easily but I think it's very organized and cool because it's made from hemp and water based inks so it's very earth healthy.

I've got them in brown suede and tan hemp and both look great, and although they're cozy, my feet hurt after walking in them, which never happens in other sneakers I wear. Hmm.

I found these to be difficult to put on. The tongue would fold down as you slipped in your foot. Without a shoe horn to support the back, it would fold down under your heel. However, once I regained my breath and got them on I found them to be fun to wear. Walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes loosened them up.

Cool shoe, looks great with jeans or shorts. When they say "beach" I think they mean it. I've been wearing mine every day and not as a beach shoe and they are slowly dying already. It's been about a month. So yeah, buy them, they're cheap, look great but just don't wear them every day.

For the price - shoe is okay, but this is barely a 'shoe' - more like a Sanuk/Slipper...which in much of the year in CA is cool - it just wasn't comfortable on my foot. It is cut low and cuts into my foot when wearing. I have mine ready to go to Goodwill.

Returning immediately. The right feels lumpy and smaller than the left. The left has an irregular cut and seam at the top of the tongue. This has the feel of like a $20 shoe, not a discounted to this price shoe! I guess Vans doesn't have the quality they used to.

Great casual shoe. Got many compliments from people while wearing them out. While they are comfortable, I wouldn't recommend wearing them if you plan on walking long distances. I have high arches and while I wasn't in any pain from these shoes, they offer no real arch support. All and all I would recommend for the price.

I have had too many pairs of this shoe -- perfect summertime kicks due to the absorbent foam insole that allows you to roam around with no socks needed (you can wash the footbed as well, which you will need to). Fits true to size and has a very casual look for a night out or a day on the beach. Surf's up.

Some of my favorite shoes. I always buy these shoes on Zappos because they are an awesome fit. Great casual wear. The insoles can be removed and replaced with ease. Also makes the shoe very easy to wash, just take the insole out and toss together in the washer. Now I have these in many different materials, for example: canvas, leather, cord. By far the leather last the longest with everyday use. Highly recommend this shoe.
