This boot is a cut above the rest. The leather lining is wonderful and really prevents blisters. I had the Asolo 535 and the quality of the two is world's apart. The lacing stud on the tongue really keeps the laces from loosening and spreads lacing pressure evenly. The rubber rand is very effective at preventing leather damage, and did I mention that glove leather lining is heavenly

I have had these for a short time but have worn them in CO, NM and AZ back country. They are outstanding boots with an aggressive sole, something that very few boots have these days. They are the boot to beat for the southwest. They are worth the money.

I've had 3 pairs of this boot, each I've worn until I can't wear them anymore. I love them. I'm an avid hiker and mountaineer and find these boots just about perfect for anything the mountains can throw at me short of steep rock (wear smooth soled rock shoes) or extended glacier travel (wear a glacier boot). These boots will take a crampon, and are fairly stiff. These a BEEFY boots, not to be confused with the all fabric "boots" that pass as "trail ready" by casual hikers. I have a narrow, low volume foot and usually use a third party insole in them. These boots are not "water-proof" but you can use silicon sprays and shoe creams to achieve remarkable water repellent. I also have a tendency to turn my ankles when wearing heavy packs so boots of this type with high tops are a necessity for me. Lots of support! If you like extended hiking trips in the mountains with large packs over rough terrain, lots of stream crossings, and occasional need to scramble up crags or up snow slopes and colors on crampons, then these are the boots for you.

I have always over-pronated, so badly that my ankles and legs were causing me lots of problems. I'd tried some running shoes which helped, but wouldn't have been good for hiking or outdoors use. I balked at the price of these boots, but after I sprained my ankle, I decided I simply had to give them a try. They were 100% perfect from my first hike onward, not only protecting my ankles, but seemingly correcting my over-pronating. I don't know how to praise these shoes enough. It was almost like a miracle.

Seems like a good boot. I ordered a size 12 hoping it would fit but it's a little big. I usually wear a size 11.5, size 12 in some brands. i would say it runs true to size, so just a little big for me, too bad.

Simply outstanding quality and design in an era when that's not always the case. The leather lining is far superior to fabric. Absolutely no blisters and I attribute it to that. The last is more American than European even thought the boots is made in Germany. Good toe room and snug but not uncomfortable heel cup.
I'd also recommend:
Lowa! I have 3 pairs of their boots and they are beyond compare
