I have never gotten a blister with these boots, but if I wear them on the sidewalk or on a road for any distance, they cause pains in my feet. They have support, but no cushion to them. They are fine on dirt, like a trail. I recently took them hiking on very steep, rocky ground. It was only a 5 mile hike round-trip, very rough ground. My toes hurt quite a lot as we were coming back down the mountain, and when I got back, both my big toe nails were dark from being seriously bruised under the nail. 3 weeks later, they are still healing (hoping the nails don't fall off!). The toe box is clearly too small. I think I needed to get a whole size larger than normal. Go a size up! These never soften up, so don't expect them to stretch or break-in.

These were the only hiking boots that I could find that were listed as narrow but they did not feel very narrow. They were also long for a size 10. The other thing that i did not like was that they are hard to lace tightly. It pretty much takes 4 hands to tie them tightly.

I ordered these based on rave reviews but was disappointed. The toe box is too narrow, unlike the wider Keen toe box. The arch support felt fine but my little toes were pressed by the sides of the boot. Too bad. I am still in search of the perfect light hiker. I used to buy Keen's but they "improved the style and now it doesn't fit right. I have also tried Merrell with no success. If I find a good boot with a wide toe box, narrow heel, good arch support, gusseted tongue to keep the desert sand out, durable sole and good padding, I will definitely write a review. In the meantime, it's back to reading reviews.

I've been wearing these for years, and recently ordered my 5th or 6th pair. When they arrived, I was disappointed to find that they are smaller than the old pair (even though I ordered the same size). I will return them and order a larger pair, but I wish they hadn't messed with perfection!

THe toe box on this hiking shoe is too narrow: a hiking shoe needs enough toe space to handle hiking for several hours up as well as down hill.

I love these boots!! After spending a few months researching hiking boots I finally gave in and bought a pair. I work with rescue dogs so I am on my feet outside all day. I also enjoy long hikes in the backcountry on my days off but I have weak ankles so I wanted something with ankle support. These boots are awesome!! No hot spots, no blisters, no foot pain even after my first day wearing them. They support my feet so well and are totally waterproof. I wear them as snow boots here in Colorado and they are wonderful! I am considering buying the insulated pair as well because after about 5 hours or so my feet begin to feel cold. But with the right socks this is avoidable. A few months in and there is no sign of wear or anything falling apart with these shoes. These are now my go-to hiking and work boot!

The sizing of the shoe was perfect. This issue I had is that it had little to no arch support. Otherwise, I would have kept the boots. They are very well made and appeared as if they would last for a long time!

I bought a pair of Lowa Renegades some 15 years ago and have hiked everywhere from Finland to Panama in them. I have narrow feet so finding a pair of hiking boots that fit me is not easy, but my Renegades were extremely comfortable and sturdy. However, the soles finally started deteriorating and I needed a new pair. The new Renegades are pretty much identical to my original pair, giving me the same excellent comfort and fit.

I have been wearing these boots for over 2 years, and I absolutely love them! After all the miles that I have put on them, they show little wear. They were very comfortable right out of the box, and continue to be today. I have a difficult time finding footwear for my size 6.5AA feet, and often have to settle for what I can find. That was not the case with these boots - I absolutely love them!! They are very well made and are true to fit. I have no complaints whatsoever about them.

Nice looking boot but normally wear 7.5-8 wide and these fit with thin sock but wanted room for thick socks, would have exchanged for 8.5 but none available, sadly returned

You know those things you own that you love so much that when they need to be replaced you simply order the exact same thing? These boots are just that for me. They have seen me comfortably through hundreds and hundreds of miles over several years, keep my feet dry, and never slip, I don't take the time to write many reviews, but these boots are worth it. If you need hiking boots, buy these.

I hate buying shoes. AAAA heel, B/C width in the toe, orthotics, and must meet my PT's criteria. I love my Lowa Renegades! My orthotics fit, the boots are comfortable, truly keep my feet warm at 10 degrees, and water/snow doesn't seep in. I was hesitant to spend the money, but these boots will last for years. I used to save them for hiking and other outdoor sports, but now I wear them all winter. I rarely wear my snow boots anymore.

I struggle with finding hiking boots that fit my narrow foot; most give me blisters. Out of the box I wore these boots on a three mile hike. They were comfortable and more importantly did not give me blisters. The boots are a little stiff, but this is important to me in a hiking boot. I put them to the test this weekend by hiking to the top of the Beehive in Acadia National Park. They provided excellent support and traction and I felt confident even when the soles got wet. I cannot recommend these boots highly enough for women with narrow feet. I did order 9.5N. Full disclosure: I did remove the provided insole and replaced with an insole with a built in rigid arch support (Spenco). Typically with hiking boots I need two insoles and thick hiking socks to ensure a secure fit. I was pleased that these boots do not need all the extra "filling" to fit my foot perfectly!!

My foot is actually a 9.5S with a high arch and narrow heal, which exists nowhere, so I buy 9N or 9.5N and stick inserts and tongue pads in to make my shoes work. Hiking boots being hiking boots, they are harder to get right, but these are actually narrow and have decent arch support. I can lace them up tightly and my foot feels secure. These boots have a deep hook at the ankle that make the fit better than most. They may have taken my old favorites, my Vasque Sundowners (good ones from 1995, back when they made narrows), out of their top spot. Hoping they're even more comfy as I get them broken in!

This is my third pair of this boot in 20 years. A perfect fit, feel, quality and longevity. Delivery in two days by Zappos once I realized I had worn the heel of my last pair down to the Y are high and and worth it!

I wear between a 10 and eleven and bought a 10 1/2 narrow. My feet are very narrow and hard to fit. These are perfect! I love them. They are so comfortable and supportive. What a great shoe for my difficult foot!

Absolutely well-made, quality boots. Sadly, I must return them because even the wide size was too narrow. I wear 10.5 wide hiking boots. My foot is 4.25 in wide. If the area of the toe box that tapers towards the toe started 1-2 cm more forward, they would've fit. There was pressure on my 4th and 5th toes where the taper started. The insoles are neutral. I changed them for the orthotics I prefer with more robust arch support and which made that part of the fit optimal for me.

I wear these with gaiters for snowshoeing and they keep my feet perfectly warm and comfortable. I did size up 1/2 size to accommodate more sock room.

I ordered 10.5 W. They do not feel like wide shoes. My bunion hurts. Otherwise, they would be ideal hiking and backpacking shoes. I am still looking for comfortable, high-rise hiking boots, giving good lateral stability.

If you're buying these hikers after November 2020, I think you should ignore the reviews on sizing that indicated that it runs small if you're ordering wide width. I like the wide width for wearing thicker socks in winter and the fit is perfect. When I tried on the 8.5 wide hikers, they were much too big. Whatever issue Lowa had with correctly labeling the size has been remedied. I love these hikers. I am wearing them now, fresh out of the box, because they're so comfortable and I want to be sure my feet won't be in pain when I hike with them the first time. I wear hikers a lot in winter because I had frostbite multiple times (Wisconsin winters in my youth) and if my feet get cold then my whole body chills. They are pricey but totally worth it. The workmanship is seen and felt. Love them.

Wonderful boots. Finally a brand that still makes "narrow". Comfortable from the start, no need to break in.

This is my 2nd pair of these boots. The fit and support are excellent. They are the only hiking boots I've found that fit my narrow (7N) foot.

These boots felt smaller than the last pair (same model) I bought. Had to order a full size up, but when I got the right size they felt great!

Love that these come in narrows - fit is amazing. I haven't used them for hiking yet, but they already feel way better than my old hiking boots. The quality seems to be excellent
