I have owned and abused similar footwear in Iraq and Afghanistan for several years now. I have owned a pair of these for about eight months. These shoes look great, get compliments all the time and are fine for daily wear around town but are terrible for serious outdoor use. They provide no ankle support and have some of the worst insoles I have seen, they are a thin hard foam that wore useless after a couple hundred miles. The stitching on the outside not very durable under extreme conditions. Buy some Merrells or Keens instead if you are going to use them hard.

I love these shoes! Very comfortable right out of the box, look great too.
Love the slate color with jeans. These are not for rugged backcountry hiking, but well worth the price for casual use.
I usually wear 11 1/2 so I ordered a 12. Just right.
Startlingly fast delivery! Love Zappos!

I own these and the Synergist Low Vasque shoes. They were both extremely comfortable the first time I put them on. The Juxt are better for everyday wear. They are flat on the bottom and the heel is lower. The Synergist has big tread knobs on the bottom and a higher heel for hiking. The Juxt are much better for rain. They are a little narrow near my little toe but hopefully they will break in. I am very happy with this shoe.

These are very comfortable shoes. But the fabric which lines the inside of the shoe wears out fast. It is clearly a substandard fabric they used; no other shoes that I have ever worn wears out like this. But when I wrote to Vasque about it they said it was normal - no defect and no warranty. Vasque used to be a great company but I guess those days are gone.

I needed an all around shoe for casual wear, yet I could wear to work and with jeans and dressier pants. I saw the new Vasque Juxt and immediately like the way it looked and the styling was distinctive. I wore them to work the first night and on my feet for 12 hours I have never felt such a comfortable fit. My legs and feet were not all tired and my co-workers all commented about the new shoes and how great they looked I couldn't be more pleased.

Best low cut hiker I've ever owned! Zero break in time, I just put them on, and did a 10 mile hike right out of the box, no blisters, rubbing, chafing, nothing. The shoe was also sure footed on uneven terrain, slick rocks and loose gravel.

Even though some reviewers thought the toe box was a little narrow, some thought it was okay, so I decided to try a pair. After a hike, I found the toe box to be narrow too. I only have a med width forefoot, but very long toes & they get pinched in toe boxes that aren't roomy - unfortunately I also have a narrow heel, so based on reviews, that eliminated the Keens from consideration My heel did not slip up at all in these Juxts. I stuffed paper in the toe box area after each hike & the toe box is better now. The rest of the shoe is impressive, steep ascents & descents on rocky trails don't bother this shoe at all, they grip really well! Protection under the forefoot from rocks is better than with a trail-running shoe. Although I wish the toe box was roomier, overall I think it's a good day hiking shoe. Bottom line: if you have a wide foot get another shoe, if not, this is not a bad day hiker, & it's great in mountainous terrain.

Shoes made for a Hawaiian! To start off, I normally wear a size 15 EE, so finding the right shoe is not always successful. These shoes felt great as soon as I put them on. They are lightweight and perfect for hiking or hunting in Hawaii. They have stood up to some rugged terrain and have some decent grip for the wet slopes and rocks left behind by passing rain showers. The low-top design worried me at first due to the lack of ankle support, but I came to appreciate the mobility and less weight as opposed to the hunting boots I used before. If you live in Hawaii or are planning to visit, these shoes will suit you well for any outdoor adventure up in the forests.

Got the Vasque Juxt on sale from Zappos when I was three days from a two month journey in South America. I needed a shoe for lots of walking and hiking. They worked out quite well. They were comfortable in the streets of Quito, Ecuador and were serviceable on the trails to Machu Picchu. The only negative thing I can say is it took a few days for them to dry out. There were a couple of occasions where I had to wear wet shoes but that's what happens while traveling.

Hadn't worn Vasque before but thought I'd take a chance. Loved the look of the shoes, but the comfort level was poor: the shoes were extremely narrow in the forefoot -- in fact, they were essentially the same width from heel to toe, so even out of the box they look as if they aren't contoured to the human foot (and they weren't, at least not for mine). Probably good if you have a very narrow foot -- and in any case, Zappos makes it easy to try 'em out. Great customer service!

Like an earlier reviewer, I find the Juxt is not shaped like my feet (which I consider to be pretty average shaped feet, never needed a wide in a shoe before). The shoe is built on the arc tempo last which has a serious inward curve from back to front (more exaggerated than other Vasques with this last that I've tried). Add to that a narrow toe box and wider than usual heel and you have a really strange shaped shoe that really squeezes my outside toes while still being loose in the heel. I'm surprised to see people saying this is a comfortable shoe to hike in. I find the sole to be lacking shock absorption making it pretty unforgiving on rough trails. Also, the shoe isn't even a tiny bit water resistant. Just a quick pass through my wet lawn and my socks were wet. I am fairly light for my size 11 feet at 145 lbs so I'm probably not the best tester for durability, but these shoes have been holding up (better than my feet) despite trying to use them as hiking shoes, which I really think they are not. It is a good looking shoe, but probably best for casual wear, providing it's shaped like your foot.

Awesome shoe! I've never been let down by Vasque. This shoe is no different. I tried it instead of the "Sundowner" because of the price, and low profile. I've found that the durability is that of a work boot (minus steel-toe), and the comfort is like a sneaker. If they keep making this, I'll keep getting it.

These shoes are the friggin' bomb. I've always found that Vasque puts out a highly durable product, and these are no exception. I bought the Juxt for trail running, soccer and ultimate drills and some parkour. I have a wicked wide foot, and these fit just fine. I love the kevlar toe wrap. I've put less than 100 trail running miles on them, but I suspect they'll hold up as well as my thrasher Sundowners (3rd sole on them). Double thumbs up for these puppies.

These are great for both light hiking and kicking it around town. Sizing is right on for my size 11 feet, although they seem to run a bit narrow (which I greatly prefer). I really love these shoes.

Nice wide toe box. Sizing was right. Have hiked about 15 miles in these shoes without any signs of blisters. This is my third pair of Vasque hikers/trail runners and would recommend these to anyone looking for a quality fair priced shoe. As always Zappos' free delivery and returns makes this the site to buy from.

These Shoes were great and comfortable, perfect fit-nice and light, yet very durable for light hikes or any outdoor activity. They also look sweet. I have very flat feet and even with a moderate arch, they still were comfortable!

Runs a bit small. I usually wear 10.5 and needed an 11. I've had the shoes for a while now. Comfortable and durable. I am buying another pair for my son before they're all gone.

I was looking for a good shoe that I could walk to work in but also do some trail hiking/walking and occasional mountain biking in. I had never heard of this brand but the style, design, and construction looked good so I gave them a shot and I couldn't be happier. They're fairly light and feel like they have good arch support. My only complaint is that despite the aggressive tread on the sole, smooth wet concrete sometimes is too slick and it's easy to suddenly lose balance. Almost like walking on ice. Based on the only other review before mine, I ordered a size larger which turned out to be too big. I quickly exchanged them for a 12 (my actual shoe size) and they fit perfect. Unlike some other shoes I've had in the past, these don't feel at all like they need to break in. The laces stay tied with the standard single knot/bow and the tongue has not slid off to the side in the slightest degree. It may seem funny to mention something as mundane as the laces and tongue, but I can't tell you how frustrating it's been that every shoe and laced boot I've bought previously has required double knots to stay tied and the tongues slide off to one side. I'm happy these don't do that.

The shoe is so snug on the sides that is was hard to determine the length. Unfortunately the fit could have been at least a half size smaller in length. Next time I'll loosen them up so that I can slide my foot around. Otherwise seems like a nice shoe.

Let me first say that this shoe is very comfortable and reasonably priced. However, they are quite ugly, look kind of like I'm wearing hippos on my feet or perhaps bowling shoes. Still, with the amount of shoes I go through for work, I'd buy these again. Also, nice support in the toe.

I bought these shoes for my boyfriend who walks on a concrete floor all day at work. He has very flat feet, so he did put in a different insole, but found that the shoe provided great support. He does not have the knee and arch pain anymore that he was experiencing prior to having these shoes. I would definitely buy these shoes again for him!

This is my first experience with Vasque's footwear. I will say that the Juxt out of the box is very comfortable. It looks ok, kind of like a bowling shoe from the top view. It is also very light, and the sole is as advertised. Overall I was pleased. The caveats I will add are: 1) The shoes fit about a half size small. 2) They don't seem to be as well built as they should be, given Vasque's reputation. However, I would have kept them if they properly. I definitely would not put them into the light hiker category. More like a stout trail runner. I wouldn't want more than 10 pounds on my back while wearing these shoes.
