An Incredibly Comfortable Shoe That Actually Does - what it promises. Having owned an MBT for six months, I decided to try the 'competition' as it has not only a lower price, but a 'nicer' look in the 'Mary Janes' style that I wanted to add to my shoe collection. Well after four weeks of use, I can tell you, without equivocation, that the Skecher's 'version' of the MBT concept surpassed my expectations and is my preferred shoe over my MBTs. I did not expect the same level of comfort and performance that I have with my significantly pricier MBTs, but the Skechers are actually the superior shoe in comfort and performance and seem to have the same quality of construction and materials as my MBTs...all at a much more palatable price.

I ordered these in January, eight weeks after hip replacement surgery because I could not yet bend over to tie my shoe laces, but I was very eager to get back to exercising. As I live alone, this seemed to be a good option. Let me just say, these are the most comfortable workout shoes that I have ever purchased. They are very cushy...which was great for my hip. The Velcro straps made it so easy and, they actually are pretty cute. The only complaint I have is a manufacturing defect. There is a piece of plastic on the instep side of the shoe which the strap goes through. Yesterday, while on the treadmill, it broke which rendered the shoes useless. That was so disappointing only getting 3½ months of use out of them. I only speed walk - no running (hence the four stars overall). Oh, well, I need to get another pair and I am going to pick these up with laces as I can, once again, bend over and tie my shoes. Thank goodness for Zappos. I will have them for my workout on Tuesday!

I have very little fat pad under the ball of my foot, so finding a comfortable shoe that I can walk in all day is really a struggle. That said, I loved these shoes! They were so comfortable that I could (and did) wear them every day. Unfortunately, the hardware holding the strap to the shoe broke after only a few months. I still have the shoes with hopes of getting them repaired some day.

I got these shoes for a walking trip. I never felt that my butt was having a workout, but I can tell you that my feet were not tired after eight hours of constant walking. I would use them on another trip, and I think they look better than the tennis shoe version.

True to size, can feel a difference when you wear them but they are kind of tall so if you are prone to falls not good!

I usually wear a 8.5 or 9. I ordered the 9.5 after reading some who said it was a little short. My toes are so crammed up into the end of the shoe that I can't walk in it. I am returning it to order a 10. If that doesn't fit, the next size is 11 (no half size).

One day of wearing the shoes for a few hours and I noticed a significant lessening of pain in my knees. I'm not claiming a cure, but I do feel a difference. As other reviewers have commented, the shoes do force a change in posture, which seems to help alleviate some other issues. They are seriously ugly, however. My teenager has forbidden me from appearing with her in public if I am wearing the shoes, and even my non-shoe-noticing husband laughed out loud and called them "clown shoes." If you intend to wear them without socks, they are true to size. If you need to wear socks, go up a half size -- they are a wee bit small.

Love these shoes. They support your arch and are so light they feel like slippers, but don't think that means they aren't well made.Walking around and exercising - what a concept! They did tire me out at first until I became accustomed to the extra muscles working. I bought the sneaker style as well. I love Zappos service, I receive packages within the week of ordering. I have not had to send anything back, but they always include return labels. I don't like to pay for shipping and never had on this site. Sometimes you can find better pricing at brick and mortar, but on higher end brands they are comparative so if you live in a high sales tax area it's a better deal.

Skechers Shape Ups are a great way to tone and shape while walking. Having high arches, these shoes provide great arch support! Even my 74 year old mother enjoys her Sketchers Shape Ups. These shoes really aid in better posture while walking and aids in strengthening your 'core'. So impressed with aiding in better posture we are getting my 78 year old father a pair!

I love the look and feel of these shoes, but they have been very hard to break in. For some reason, the fabric just chews up my heels every time I wear them. Because I got the Mary Jane style. I don't want to wear socks, but may have to in order to keep the shoes. They are heavy if just being held. The shoes are very comfortable on. I can definitely feel the extra work out in my shins and calves, which is great. Overall, a nice shoe.

I can feel a workout when I walk in these, however, they feel a little big and I have to make sure to wear socks or else I will get nasty blisters (like the one on my left heel right now). They also don't breathe all that well and my feet get really hot.

I saw these shoes and read the reviews before buying. I love Sketchers in general. I bought the shoes specifically before going on a 2 week cruise so I could walk the decks which worked on days not too rocky. I’ve tried wearing them for everyday, but it bothers my right knee. I think they are excellent for flat surfaces like walking trails or mall walking. I do NOT recommend them for the treadmill... yeah, tried that too. Overall I rate them a 4****. I ordered a 1/2 size larger and they were perfect. Extremely comfortable on the feet.

These are great shoes. I bought them to help shape myself up. They feel a bit strange at first, but it only takes a day or two and they become very comfortable. They do run a bit small. I did have to buy a 10; I always buy a 9. So, if you get these shoes, make sure to buy at least 1/2 to a full size up.

I was very excited by these shoes when I first got them, because they were very comfortable and easy to walk in. When I looked and couldn't find anything a littler dressier in the Sketchers brand, I tried the MBT. I only mention this because if you really want the comfort and exercise value, go with MBT. There is a world of difference between the two, and MBT is only slightly more expensive. I will continue to wear my Sketchers for casual occasions. They are very good but not the best.
