Super comfortable, soft leather! And unlike many Mary Janes out there, these don't look dowdy. The heel has a built-in orthotic to keep your foot aligned properly -- so I don't need my normal orthotic inserts in these shoes.

I bought these shoes right before a trip to Italy because I knew I would be walking constantly, but did not want to wear sneakers. They are amazing! I am honestly considering buying two more pairs to keep in reserve because I know that I am going to wear these out. I wore these every day in Italy while walking 10 hours a day, and my feet felt great. I didn't even get blisters! And now I've been wearing them to work, and I walk a mile a day to and from the subway. Great shoes!

These shoes are very comfortable & I am still in the breaking in phase. The backs cut into my upper heel so for now I have bandaids on them. I am hoping that will ease up. They are a solid comfort shoe for events & work related activities. I live & work in NYC & it helps to have a stylish comfort shoe I can dash across the street in.

Great looking shoe, very sturdy construction. Feels pretty tight in the front but I'm hoping that with some more wear it will loosen up. I've purchased 2 other Merrill's the same size (different styles) and they all fit differently.

This shoe ran small...waiting on my exchange for 1/2 size larger, couldn't even squeeze my foot into my normal size and I've bought 2 other styles of Merrells before. They look like great work shoes to wear with capris for the summer. Really bummed the olive brown is not being restocked and is not available in my size...nice color.

This is a great, everyday work shoe if you work in a relatively casual environment. I bought these shoes over a year ago, wore them out, and then bought the same pair. They are very comfortable to walk in, and are well made. They're not the most stylish shoe, but I think they're less ugly then a lot of the other comfort shoes out there. I typically wear them with work trousers.

This is a nice looking, well made shoe. For me, it was too narrow (although I am generally a Medium for width). It was also just a wee bit small.

A great shoe for work or casual outings. I love that it is streamlined with out any embellishments, but is also super supportive.

I need shoes for walking in Paris. These looked perfect. Shipping was very quick. The shoes are a very nice quality. I just wish they had fit. I ordered my usual size and found them too long, too wide, and the strap was so much too big that I wonder what foot would actually fit in there. I would say these would be very comfortable for someone with a very wide foot and a high arch. I have a narrow foot and a normal arch. I am returning these and am now reluctant to order any other shoes.

I wanted to love these shoes because they are Merrell. I have Merrell hiking shoes that I love but need a dressier light weight shoe for an upcoming trip that will include a lot of city walking. Unfortunately, the strap was too snug and felt like it would take some breaking in. The Ecco Flair was instantly comfortable where these were not, so I am returning them.

I have very high arches, and these shoes didn't support like I had hoped. Also, I bought a size 8 (most of my shoes are an 8 or 8 1/2) and it is snug. I hoped the leather would soften and the shoes would stop giving me blisters, but not yet! I'd say go with a the bigger size, if you're in between sizes. And be prepared to wear these with socks for a good long time until they (if they) break in.

As a graduate student I am often on my feet all day and need a sleek, professional black flat. I have foot and shoes issues, no shoe ever fits or stays on because my feet are extremely "low profile" and never fill out a flat. I just want a flat that feels like a tennis shoe. I had such hopes for the Merrell Brio because I have other Merrells that fit perfectly - the Encore Eclipse is a great shoe. But the Brio does not fit. It's too narrow across the ball of the foot, and the footbed doesn't conform to my foot. That's nothing new but I hoped for more since this shoe. Really like the look and want it to fit, but unfortunately is has to go back. Maybe I will try the Encore Emme.

The most comfortable shoes I have ever worn are Encore MJ also by Merrell. When I found the Brio's I had to have them. I expected them to fit exactly like the Encores. Unfortunately, did not find this to be true. While the arch support is excellent, the front of the shoe is cut narrower and a little too tight for me. I have tried to stretch it, because I love the arch, but I am admittedly disappointed. Would love a pair of black leather shoes designed exactly like the Encore MJ.

Horrible experience! I have a week left to get packed for Europe, and when these shoes arrived I put them on right away. AAARRRGGGHHHH, they are the right size, but the vamp is so narrow and the edging of the vamp hits EXACTLY at the knuckle of the large toe--soooooo painful. IF you're going to try these, make sure you allow PLENTY of time to shop in a brick-and-mortar store, where you get what is comfortable and what you expect from the information Zappos provides. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
