I love these shoes. My foot shape fits very well in the shoes made on the 65 last, and I have 3 pairs of AE shoes from that last. The Strands are my favorite. I typically wear them with dark jeans and a nice shirt at the office, and frequently get compliments on the shoes.

I had a couple problems with the fitting of the show. AE provides excellent customer service helping me get the correct size shoe. I have been wearing the shoes for about six months now and they are by far my favorite. I get compliments all the time. AE is the only shoes I will be buying from now on.

In preparing for our son's wedding, the men in the wedding party were asked to get similar looking foot ware... Allen Edmonds Cap Toe Oxford's were the perfect match. This stunning shoe is a head turner! The classic good looks of the cap-toe Strand in the walnut color makes it the perfect business shoe when you want to make a statement. The shoe pairs perfectly with a blue business suit, or a casual linen sport coat, yet it is equally at home with a pair of five-pocket jeans. I have had my Strands for several years. The sizing is right, the shoes are flawlessly made, and they still look like new. I have eight pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. I would have no other.

Great first of many purchases Great price, great quality

After looking this shoes at the department store, I couldn't stop thinking of buying this great pairs. Finally, I owned it. Because I researched alot and have heard many good reputation of Allen Edmonds shoes I had no any doubt about its quality. Yes, it has a great quality in materials and build quality of workmanship. Also provides a perfect and comfortable fit. Strands walnut color goes with many styles including suit and casual outfit. It provides a great looking by itself And together with clothes.

I started off with one pair of Strands, since they are a bit more than i typically spend on shoes. Within a short time i acquired it in 2 additional colors. The wide range of sizes makes it easy to find the perfect fit, so they're all-day comfortable. Strand has the perfect amount of detail, although Allen Edmonds has great shoes with more or less if your taste differs from mine. With the recrafting program, i expect to have these shoes for a very long time.

I purchased these shoes because I was tired of wearing through shoes every 3 months. I've had them over a year and they're still going great. I am a car salesman so I'm on my feet all day walking on asphalt. They've held up better than any other shoe I've ever worn. No more pain in my feet either. Greatest shoes I've ever owned.

It doesn't get much better than the Strand. It is a timeless classic that every man should have in his wardrobe. It is comfortable, it looks amazing and it can be worn with a variety of different looks.

I purchased my Strands in Oxblood because I wanted a bit of pop. I have the McAllister in Merlot, but I still wanted a bit more red. I was concerned about being too loud with too bright a red, but that was not the case. The color seems to be just a couple of shades more red than the Merlot color. The fit is the exact same fit as the McAllister. I went with my normal standard size (11.5 D). I get compliments from women, referring to them as having a certain appeal. I've got to get me another pair !!! I need all the appeal I can get.

These were the first pair of Allen Edmund's shoes I purchased. I could not be more impressed with the quality and comfort of this shoe. They have worn extremely well, and required very little break in to mold to my feet. Best of all, they are made in the USA! Based on my experience with this shoe and the customer service of this company, I now own 4 other pairs of Allen Edmund's shoes with a fifth pair on the way!

This is my first pair of Allen Edmonds, and it won't be my last. This particular pair of shoes fit the bill - timeless, classic legendary. Enough details to stand out, but not so much that they are outlandish. The perfect amount of perfection.

I bought a pair of Strand cap toe shoes about four months ago. They have more than met my expectations for looks, comfort and quality. I am a retired educator and have been a satisfied customer since my high school days. My friends and I fell in love with A&E shoes in the mid fifties and I have been a customer since that date. I am a 14-c any your shoe has been the only one that has provided style and a good fit. I have no idea how many pairs I have purchased but it must be 100 or more . Extremely well-made, classic American shoes from one of the best known names in men's shoes. The strand design is one of AE's best, you just can't go wrong with it. These shoes are an investment in your wardrobe and yourself. I'm so glad I made this purchase.

I was never the one to spend a lot of money on something like shoes, but after a little encouragement from some college friends, I decided to buy my first pair of Allen Edmond shoes (the McGregor). I was hooked after that. I've bought a couple more since then, including the Strand, and even successfully convinced some of my friends to buy a pair as well. We haven't regretted the purchases at all. The Strand is my go-to shoe when I want to look sharp, and not only are they sure to get some complements, they're also very comfortable. They look great in business attire and also go well with a pair of dark jeans and a sport coat. You won't find a better quality shoe in that price range - it's well worth the investment.

These Strand's are my fourth pair of Allen Edmonds shoes that I own. The walnut color is beautiful and looks at place with dress clothing as well as jeans. It's such a pleasure to be able to find stylish shoes to wear on my size 10A foot. As with all my other Allen Edmonds shoes, the craftsmanship and fit are superb.

I got this shoe to complement my suit collection. I have it in the 7.5 D specifications.I am going to review it under separate parameters- 1. Fit - The shoe fits me like a glove. The toe area is especially comfortable with just the right amount of room for a breezy fit while the vamp and heels ensure a snug attachment. 2. Comfort of wear - The inner material is ununsually soft for a dress shoe.It has a cushioning quality that made me have a broken-in shoe feel from the first wear. The cork footbed really supports a good posture.The outsole is dressy yet rugged so that I can show it off while sitted and yet feel confident walking on rough surfaces.I like wearing this shoe. 3. Attractiveness- This is the easiest to describe. The 65 Last is a highly stylistic rendition of a traditional silhouette.The broguings add a flamboyance. The color -I got it in Oxblood- is Cherry with several layers of depth that play with daylight to reveal ununsual hues. Complete strangers and colleagues alike have complimented the looks- sometimes effusively. 4. Value for money - I have a strong collection from English and Continental shoemakers as well as American ones. The specs of this shoe -at its price point- can trump price -point matching competitors. As for high end shoes, this particular make and color can give those fancy ones a run for their money. The only modification I can think of is having some better laces to highlight the appearance of this shoe. Allen Edmonds has done a good job here.

I purchased these shoes mainly for Lindy Hop. The heels aren't leather, which is a con when combined with the fact that there is no way AE will give you leather heels, and it'll probably hurt your warranty if you get it done elsewhere. That aside, these shoes have been great. I wear casual clothing for work so I don't get much opportunity to wear these outside of dancing, but I'm sure they will stand up to everyday use if they can handle the Lindy Hop. You may need to upgrade your wardrobe if you buy these shoes. It's hard to pair them with clothing that is not worthy.

I've owned strands in Bob's Chili for almost a year. Similar to my five other AE shoes, construction and details have been without flaw. Very clean construction and quality control. Calf skin is supple. I wear a EEE width and find that the slim taper of this shoe makes my foot appear to be slender (while shoes of other makes are often large and clunky).

Go into their store, get a fitting, and you now have access to a large arsenal of handsome shoes in your fingertips. (dont be shy, they have approachable, friendly experts willing to help you even if you dont buy anything. But you most likely will after you tried on their stellar shoes) I personally have multiple pairs of shoes from Allen Edmond. From loafers to boots. Their sizing is consistent across all their shoes. Little to no break in period required. Its like a second layer of skin that fits perfectly around your feet what i like to call "magical feeling". If I had to pick a favorite, the Strand is hands down my go to favorite! The shoe is strikingly great looking that demands attention. It goes well on clothes from shorts, jeans, pants, to slacks. The shoe works well with them all. It is such a versatile shoe. Got tons of compliments on them every time i wear them. Did i mention how magical they feel on your feet? During lunch, I would walk a mile with them because I like to keep in shape. During the walk, it feels like walking on pillows. After the walk, my feet still feels fantastic and begs for more. Most people would wear their sneakers to walk a mile, but Allen Edmonds shoes are that comfortable! In the past, I didnt understand how some people can wear dress shoes all day long. But that was before I met Allen Edmonds. They found the perfect size for me, and I am wearing my athletic shoe less, and my Allen Edmonds more and more on. Get a pair and you will never look back. I have not tried a pair of Allen Edmonds Genuine Horween Shell Cordovan. That will be my next adventure. I hope your experience will be as great or better than mine. Stay sharp! There is a reason why this is the CEO's favorite pair of shoes. It was my first pair of Allen Edmonds, and is still my favorite years later. Classic design, great walnut color. Looks great with greys and blues. Do your feet a favor and pick up a pair of Strands. I have a narrow foot and the 5 last is great!

This is my third pair from AE. I can not put into words how comfortable their dress shoes are; at least in a manner that would do them justice. Great fit, comfortable for all day wear and great for people like be with a wide width. I will never wear any other brand of dress shoe after discovering AE. On top of making great and comfortable shoes, their customer service is unparalleled. AE has a customer and brand ambassador for life. The Strand in Oxblood garners compliments everywhere I go. I have purchased this Shoe in Black & Walnut. Durability is excellent. Fit and comfort & style excellent.

So this is actually my second pair of Strainds and now my 5th AE shoe. Of all my AE's this is my favorite due to how stylish it is. After a few wears this shoe should be broken in nicely and then you can walk around all day, almost not even knowing you have a pair of shoes on. That is how confortable these are. I have this shoe in both the dark brown and the Walnut and they both look amazing. I like this shoe so much because they work well going casual with jeans or dressed up with a suit. If I could give any advice, it would be to buy these shoes. I used to elect for a lesser cost shoe and was never as happy with them. I have noticed that I have thrown away a lot of money in other shoes when I should have just purchased these earlier on.

I have a pair of Leeds and enjoy their subtle style. Strands are much more flamboyant, by AE standards, and it took some getting used to. The craftsmanship and quality are superb.
