I was concerned that I would have to break these in since I have extremely sensitive feet. I wore them around my house for about a week and a half and finally decided to go whole hog and I wore them to work. I work in a home improvement retail store and the concrete floors are harsh if the proper shoes are not worn. I have to say that I wore them for an entire eight hour shift and had no problems at all. The fit is great, it feels like I am walking on thick carpet pad, and they make me even taller than I already am! I love them.

I read a lot of online reviews before buying these (including all the ones here) and I must say, so far I am VERY happy with what I've received. I have major foot and leg problems that got me retired on a disability, and these are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I've worn in years that DON'T hurt my feet after 30 minutes. As far as the long term benefits I can't really comment at this time as I've only had them a very short while, but I am hoping it will be at least some of what's been promised. Also, they are a great looking pair of shoes. For now, I'm rating these high for what they've already given me in terms of comfort.

Ordered these last week on Thursday afternoon. Arrived Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. Wow! \r\nI\'m a big guy and the biggest thing I notice from wearing these are my feet, ankles, knees and hips don\'t feel as beat up after walking for a period of time. Weather permitting, with nordic walking poles, I walk 4 - 6 times a week, 3 - 5 miles per walk, through our neighborhood that has some elevation rise and falls. The suspension action of these shoes is what makes the difference. Usually, after a 4 or 5 miler, I\'m hobbling around the rest of the day and sometimes some of the next day. To start out, I walked 2 miles on Saturday, 1 on Sunday. I walked my first 4 miler of the year about 3 hours ago and, although my legs feel a little fatigued, I feel a lot better than I would have had I worn my old shoes. No hobbling. Looking forward to putting some miles on these babies.

These shoes take a little getting used to, but once you do, they are extremely comfortable and seem to work as advertised. They are great for walking, though jogging is a little awkward. They are expensive, but very well made and worth the price. I normally wear a size 12 or 13, but needed a size 14 in these. Overall, I would highly recommend these shoes.

These peculiarly shaped shoes take about half an hour to get used to. From then on, they are the best walking shoes ever. They give a great workout to every part of the legs and torso, keep you in good posture, and reduce strain on the feet and knees to almost nothing. It's less like striding on hard ground than like sailing on water. I've already bought another pair, in black.

Bought Skechers Shape-Ups for my husband for Valentines Day. He absolutely loves them! Says they are very comfortable. Skechers recommends buying half size larger, which I did. Would recommend to friends to buy.

A very comfortable walking shoe. You can feel results after only short walks.

I stand about 9 hours a day and am always trying new shoes...these have given me great relief to my knees. They say wear them about 30 minutes the first few times, but I didn’t read that and wore them 9 hours. My calves were sore but my knees were significantly less painful at the end of the day (I have been doing this 40 years). The shoes move the impact forward of my heel and that is what makes the difference I think.

I have a pair of these myself and love them. I bought this pair for my hubby who is having many problems with his feet and legs. He is a long term diabetic, very overly sensitive feet, knee trouble, and very tight hamstrings. These shoes are really helping!

I wore these shoes for a few hours a day for about a week per the instructions. I walk 4 miles a day and started wearing the shoes after the break-in period. From the very first days, I’ve been much less sore and more limber from the waist down. I’m totally amazed. I would recommend these shoes. It’s funny, but since wearing them, when I get up from sitting down, I’m not stiff and sore anymore, especially when exiting my car. Great innovation.

I have had these shoes for a month and worn them all day every day since I got them. They are very comfortable, and it only took a few minutes to get used to the unusual rocking motion of walking in them. Even though the sole is an inch and a half thick at its thickest, it doesn’t feel weird. They don’t look as odd as I thought they might, but they are far from stylish. I walk about three miles a day just commuting and doing my job, and the shoes actually work like advertised. My legs are definitely stronger, with less knee pain than I had before. I would say that the effects are most noticeable in the lower leg and thighs, but I do think they help your core too. Considering I have not increased my exercising but have made very noticeable gains in strength and tone, these shoes are worth every penny.

I love my Skechers "shape Ups". I had to return them for a 1/2 size larger. The new ones arrived the very next day. Your customer service is outstanding!! I would encourage anyone to do business with Zappos.

I love my Shape-Ups. I even wear them in the house so, I can rock and roll all day. They make me feel as if I am walking higher than the ground. They are true to size and I can wear a heavier pair of socks with these shoes. Take it slowly at first, it is like having sea legs then your legs gradually turn into seaplanes. I can feel the back of my thighs and higher tightening. They get 5 stars in my book. Anything that makes me want to walk instead of ride is like having money in the bank. Sorry, got to go, I have to keep on moving. Thank you, Zappos for your unique products and unique customer service. Be sure to walk test your Shape-Ups in the house before taken it to the streets. Happy feet!

In 1820 Charles Caleb Colton said, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." Well, MBT should be flattered. Two years ago, they were alone in the field of rocker sole walking shoes; today they've got 2 competitors, and I own all 3 brands. MBTs as the most expensive ought to be a perfect 10. For walking they do deliver what they promise, a very soft heel strike, and an empowering rolling stride. However, as an expensive shoe, at least for me, they don't make the cut. They're leather and well made, but just don't feel like a luxury priced shoe, and for me, the interior seams sometimes rub my toes. I'm glad I got them used on eBay at a fraction of their list price. At the opposite end of the spectrum is the Therashoe from, of all places, K-Mart. Leather, very nicely made, lighter than the others, and the sole isn't quite as curved on the bottom. I got mine for on sale. Finally, the reason you came here: Skechers Shape Ups. I am amazed at how good they feel standing, walking, and just sitting around. They look casual, and like MBT, a bit weird, but they feel luxurious and I don't want to take them off. Side by side with MBT and Therashoe, the Skechers sole is nearly identically shaped to the MBT, and the Therashoe is lower. The MBT are the heaviest, Skechers a couple ounces lighter, and Therashoe the lightest of the bunch (but remember, the sole is lower so there's less rubber). Your heel hits softest with the MBT, mid-step is softer in Skechers, and Therashoe is neither soft nor hard, and has less of a rolling action. Bottom line, Skechers is my choice, MBT an extremely close second, and Therashoe is third, but still worth consideration.

We purchased these for a customer of ours. He loves them. We ordered the shoes 1/2 size larger than what he measured, and the shoes seem to fit him perfectly. So far, so good.

Somebody saw them on me and asked if I liked them. I said the first thing to come to mind which was like is not the word I would use. They are challenging. It feels like walking on beach sand to me, or walking around with ankle weights. Are they beneficial? I suppose they add a level of challenge. That's about what I was looking for. That, and to be like Joe Montana.

am on my second pair of Skechers Shape Ups as an eyelet became damaged after I had worn them for only (2) months. Thanks to Zappos return policy I was able too return the damaged pair in exchange for a new pair. I wear my Shape Ups when I work out at the wellness center. I really like them, but I am afraid that the way the eyelets are designed that there may be more people having trouble with the construction Skechers way want too consider a make over.

Shape ups. They felt very silly at first. I originally bought them because my feet and knees ached after 10 hours running around a grocery store. I wanted something for my feet, a break or a vacation from the standard everyday shoe. Shape Ups are very comfortable. I got really sore after the first day of wearing them. I wore them for 10 hours and not the recommended 30 minutes. I put my Superfeet insoles in them for better arch support. My skinny heels slide out unless I tighten the shoes real tight. They are noticeable not only because they make you taller, but they change your body language around. It is easier to put my shoulders back and pull my stomach in. I don’t like to wear them every day because it is harder to bend down and reach boxes because everything is harder to reach. I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone who needs a little vacation for your feet and knees, ankles etc. Don’t buy them to help lose weight because that would take three lifetimes or more. Two people at work have already bought them. Again, don’t buy them to lose weight, they are just a shoe not a personal trainer. Have fun!

I wear size 11.5 in women’s so I had to go with a 9.5 in men’s. These shoes make my workout more intense (on the treadmill). My lower back has not been hurting after doing the treadmill as it used to using other workout shoes. Do they tone the legs? Time will tell. Overall, I will buy another pair when these wear out.

These Skechers Shape Ups are truly different. I find them very comfortable for walking, and had no issues at all "getting used to them." They really are made for walking at a pace, the design is not for wearing around the house, active sports involving changing directions, etc. They provide good support, and appear to be well made, time will tell. If they last they will be well worth the money. They are not cheap. Sizing was accurate.

I was skeptical at first of the claims Skechers made of this shoe until I bought a pair. I work on concrete at least 10 hours a day and my feet and knees take a brutal punishment. Well the real world truth is that these shoes do work as advertised in reducing foot and knee fatigue and add a level of comfort I have never experienced in a shoe. However, be prepared for a bit of break in pain if you decide not to heed the instructions of wearing them for only 20 to 30 minutes a day. I decided to break them in 10 hours a day. Nonetheless, my feet have adjusted and my wife notices that my leg muscles, and my, ahem, butt muscles have a nice shapely form to them. Arch support is moderate and if you have a high arch, you might want to consider an insole. I have had these shoes for three weeks now and I no longer suffer from foot or knee pain and my posture is improved. Follow the instructions and watch the enclosed DVD when delivered and you will enjoy them.

I received the Shape-Ups and have worn them several times. Down falls of this product, I think they are made more for out walking, my problem is I stand on concrete all day everyday between 8 and 16 hours a day. They are not good for just standing or walking for a few steps, the design with the rounded bottom puts a lot of pressure on the arch of your foot and without moving a lot they hurt your feet. When I've worn them for exercise (2 or 3 mile walk they are great) and really fell it in your legs, especially in your calves. I thought that with the cushion they would be good for standing on concrete.
