Be warned the black bag is not actually black, it's gray. At first, I thought I was sent the wrong color bag, but Osprey doesn't offer gray as a color option. I asked my friends just to make sure I hadn't gone crazy, and the consensus is the bag is gray. Reference other gray messenger bags on this site to get a better idea of what to expect color-wise. Though it has a fair amount of pockets, putting anything in one of the pockets makes the other pockets virtually un-useable. The curvature of the bag also makes the compartments an odd shape; they're wider at the top than at the bottom. So, unless you're carrying a bunch of pizza slices or empanadas, it'll be hard to make standard items, like an umbrella or wallet, fit. The main pocket is large enough to accommodate my laptop plus other items, but I use an ultrabook which is only .63" thick. I would imagine a standard sized laptop would occupy a majority of the space in the main compartment. I like to wear my bag on my right shoulder, but that puts the strap adjustment all the way behind me, so I find it annoying that I have to flip the bag completely around to be able to adjust the strap. The bag is definitely stylish, so if you don't have many items to carry, this could work for you.

This is an awesome bag. I use it every day as a gym bag. A way more stylish alternative to a backpack and really comfortable across the body. Lots of compartments for keys, phone, iPod, cycle shoes etc. Definitely recommend!

This is a great large messenger bag. The velcro is very strong and if you really need to hold things in place you've got the snap clips on each side. My only complaint is that all the pockets are interior, so to get to my phone I have to open the whole bag and risk spilling contents. The lap-top sleeve is great, if you're traveling frequently with a laptop I highly recommend this bag.

I liked the color and material. It is a light.medium blue, but not overly feminine. It is made with a quality material. And that's all the positive I can say. I got this as a school/laptop bag and it is just not big enough. The laptop fits fine, but you can forget about anything else! The 3 pockets it has are very small, inconveniently placed, no place for a calculator (or phone or keys or gum), nothing of any size fits into the pockets and it wasn't really made to hold pens/pencils conveniently either. No place for a water bottle. I expected more from this bag and it did not deliver. I have had it for a year now, and I am looking for something new to start next semester with. The strap was great and comfortable, but you couldn't put that much in it to really have a load to begin with. Cute bag, but not functional. I am hoping maybe Sherpani or Haiku will have something cute and functional for a school bag. I have had good luck with both of those brands. I think I may retire this as a diaper bag. Seriously.

I bought this bag back in June and have been using at as my daily work bag ever since. I bought the bag in black, which is a charcoal gray in reality, which I knew before purchasing from reading reviews. I keep my 15" laptop in the laptop sleeve - it can be a tight fit if I keep the bag packed with other stuff. I fit a lot of stuff in mine. A leather portfolio, notebooks, sunglasses, large wallet, pens, keys, markers, power cord and even more! I love this bag, it is fun, but professional enough for my workplace, comfortable to wear as both a cross body and one-shoulder bag and very durable (it still looks like new). I would recommend this bag and get compliments on it from coworkers.

This bag is very well made and really cute! I love the design and all the pockets. And as usual, Zappos service is impeccable. The only down side for me is that after reading reviews on multiple web sites that listed this bag as appropriately sized for a 17" MacBook Pro laptop I was really excited to finally find one that was pretty and would fit and it really does not fit well at all! I have had a really tough time finding anything feminine that would fit this laptop! You can squeeze the 17" MacBook into this bag but it is really hard to get it in and out. I have to have it lined up just right and the seams would likely break after several uses. I like the bag a lot though so I have now modified it. I turned the bag inside out, slit the laptop compartment on each side, sewed in four reinforcement seams, cut up and used two of the spare straps that came with the bag to make expansion strips and I can now use the bag to carry my laptop. It is not a perfect fit but works. If you are looking for this bag for a 17" MacBook Pro and want a no-hassle scenario don't order it!

I absolutely love this bag! I wanted a bag that had no black for the summer/spring and it's perfect! Some bonus items to note - not bulky, changeable color straps and easy access pocket. I love the Zappos video feature, it really gives you the information you need to help decide to buy it or not.

Purchased this bag as a birthday gift for son's girlfriend who just started a new job. She said it is a perfect alternative to briefcase -- fits her laptop and other files plus whatever else she needs for the day.

I bought this bag to supplement my leather bag (heavy but stylish), my timbuk2 messenger bag (functional but leaves pulls in my clothing) and "men's" Oggi laptop bag (functional but large). The Osprey is smaller than the Oggi by enough of a difference to fit my small frame better than the Oggi. The Osprey is much better quality where it counts - straps, stitching, clips etc. Plenty of space to segregate all the items I carry. The design is a bit funkier than I would prefer, but still looks nice (grey) and is very comfortable. I wanted a lighter bag for commuting by train/subway/walking. This bag is the right bag for hoofing it around NYC. And, if I decide to ride in NJ, I could definitely use it as a messenger bag. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

This bag is awesome! It is everything that I wanted in a messenger bag. I am taking it to Europe and I packed it for my carry on item and it is perfect! It is very well made, and comfortable fully loaded!

I wanted a new laptop bag, but not something too boring or manly or big. This dark gray bag fits the bill perfectly. It is a great size, cute but still business like, and has lots of handy pockets. I put the purple straps on, and it looks great! would definitely recommend.

I bought the bag months ago but wanted to wait to review it until I actually used it. I bought it primarily for travel, specifically when I fly. I had been using a tote type bag which just wasn't big enough and only had one big main pocket. I did a lot of research for a bag, buying and returning a few. I was specifically looking for the following: (and this bag meets it all!) 1) that it could hook to my luggage 2) that it had both interior and exterior handles so it doesn't fall open 3) secure yet easy closures 4) comfy on my shoulders 5) multiple compartments 6) things don't fall out 7) things don't get lost inside and finally 8) fits well under airplane seats. This bag meets all those expectations and more! I love it!

This is a wonderful bag! Love the integrated short bag handle, and the non-slip pad on the extended strap works perfectly. Never falls off my shoulder. Not too big or structured, but protects the contents well (laptop, file folders, etc.) and has a couple dividers that keep things separate. Things don't get lost. There's a great little vertical side pocket for glasses case or a bottle of water. I like the design flair, too.

I have the green one, and decided I'd try the "black". It's not black, as everyone has said, but gray. In addition, the video here is the older model. I was hoping maybe this was the newer model. Nope. No "bungee closing system" which is what I was interested in. Still, this is an excellent bag. I'm just returning it because it's exactly like the green one I own already. OH ... BOTH pockets are now zippered. That's actually a better feature, imo.

Love this bag! I am not a briefcase kind of person. Size, perfect. Got it in grey, color perfect. I am thinking I will use for the next 10+ years. Center area zips for the lap top or papers that you need all the time. Love the option to change the strap colors. Have not done it yet, but I will. Only thing I wish I could do is take the other strap off the bag. The one you would use if you were biking to work/school.

This bag is awesome so far. I received it today. It seems to have everything I need as far as pockets, ease of use and comfort...not too big not too small, of course depending on what one uses it for. I use it for sheet music (in the laptop section), holding also the regular daily stuff: keys, water bottle (no specific bottle "holder" but still slip right into the bag), lunch, change of clothes, pair of shoes, and many other small or medium items. I ordered the teal, hoping it would be greener, or less blue, than the picture displayed as others commented and was pleased to find that was true. So it is a real teal, more green in shade than the blue color shown. If you want bluish teal, then you won't like the real color of this one. I love it. One note: it does not have the draw string closing everything inside, as the video shows. But I was aware of that from some of the other commenters.

Good messenger bag. Great straps and easy to hold. I had thought (my mistake)that it would also be easy to sling over one shoulder. I wasn't thinking about it having to sling around you. I am keeping it though as it will have other uses.

Wasn't sure when it first arrived that it's what I ordered. Color wise it's a slightly darker grey than the picture suggests. I changed the lime straps to purple ones, none of them have the reflectors promised in the "sales pitch." Very comfortable to wear. I use it as a handbag/laptop carrier and it fits my iPad into a special pouch. Too big as a day handbag if just for wallet/keys, but as plane hand luggage was great. Very pleased.

I received the bag fairly quickly after I placed the order. The bag is a beautiful fuchsia color. It held everything that I needed and a little more. It has adjustable hook straps. The shoulder belt is comfortable and the top handle is perfect for a quick grab. The slanted outside zipper is perfect for my work badge. I do not have to fumble around for it inside the bag. There is enough inside pockets and I love the padded laptop pocket which held closed by a Velcro strap and also has a zippered section. I had searched for weeks the perfect messenger bag and I got it.

A great diaper bag. As a mom of many, I have been through a lot of bags. I am very anti-diaper bag but my chaotic life demands organization. This bag absolutely delivers. Warning - I am a minimalist. No bottles, no frills, etc...I needed this for a newborn and 2 year old. Great space in the laptop pocket for diapers, 2 extra outfits in main compartment, and mini medical kit in middle zip pocket. I also have fit wipes, keys, small jacket for NB, snack, small wallet and misc tiny items (like hand sanitizer, sunglasses, gum, phone). This pack is great. Stylish. I did not want a girly pack because my boys would not help carry it if it was flowery or too feminine and I refuse to buy camo...anyway, nice compromise. Very strong and durable. Lightweight too. I have a JuJuBe and man is that heavy! Not the FlapJill, lightweight and easy to handle. Oh, I like the strong velcro, someone always forgets to latch the flap shut and the velcro is a great backup. I will be buying 2 more as baby shower gifts.

I never ever write reviews, but had to talk about this one. Warning: I am a huge Vera Bradley fan, but with shoulder and and arm pain from carrying the totes I had to try a cross body. I was also sick of spending the money on a new bag each season (I know I have issues). This is actually smaller than I thought it would be, I am thinking because it is for the more active bike rider. Active, yes - bike rider, not so much. I think the mini would be a step up from a fanny pack. With our new office I have to walk about a 1/4 a mile from parking. Love that it is guaranteed forever. Love the feminine touch of the flowers.

I just ordered this bag and I love it! I've been without transportation (car went kaput) for some time now and have had to rely on transportation. In the area of South Jersey where I live, it's a joke. It's more like a bus (or two) and miles of walking. Walking is good, but I digress. Anyway, I received a brand new iPad for Christmas this year, and in addition to being a diabetic and having to carry around all the paraphernalia associated with that freaking disease, I needed a larger bag to accommodate the new iPad. This bag fits the bill perfectly. It's not too large, and it's not too small. I should note that I purchased the bag in Willow Green as pictured. It is absolutely a different design. It's not the bag in the video and I called to confirm this because I really wanted the bag pictured. They are very similar except that the Willow Green as pictured has a zip open on the front flap...Yay...which is an excellent place to store your cell phone or bus fare/PATCO card. It does not have the "bungee" closing system, which is bad, and the inner changeable release buckles do come with the back but they don't (for some reason) have the reflective material as advertised in the video. If I had one really negative thing to add about the bag would be that the strap isn't long enough. I'm a taller girl and fortunate enough to be amply endowed in the chest area so the bag doesn't quite hang as far down as I would like. It just barely rests on my hip, but it's still comfortable and allows me to be hands free. Ah, yes! One more thing. I had major neck surgery about a year and a half ago that left me with severe and painful nerve damage in my neck and shoulder. Wearing a bag on my shoulders is out of the question so it has to be a cross strap. This bag is comfortable. The padded and contoured strap pad is a real plus. It's a great bag. I can see myself using this for quite some time and looking forward to traveling with it on something other than what passes for public transportation where I live. Possibly a trip to Europe.

Lots of space. Works great for carrying my school supplies (composition books, flexible binder, ultrabook, etc.) Has a spot to attach your keys, and a few quick access pockets for small items, plus an inside pocket that can only be reached by opening the top flap.If you run out of space, you're probably taking too much stuff with you. I like the aesthetically appealing purple, and the interior handle for carrying it while open. The only thing I can't comment on yet is it's usefulness in the rain.

I love Zappos! I ordered this bag on Tuesday and when it arrived on Wednesday there was a huge rip in the inside seam. I chatted with Andrew C., he did a quick exchange, and I received the replacement today! So quick and efficient. Now the bag! I love it! I do want to point out that the bag in the video is not exactly the one pictured. I would get on that Zappos. The bag in the video has a drawstring on the inside and the actually bag in the pictures and the one I received does not. Also the bag in the video shows reflection tabs on the snaps. The bag in the pictures and the one I received does not. The pattern on the bag is reflective if that is something that makes a difference to you. Other than that the written description and pics are spot on. After reading some of other reviews I also want to point out that this bag is not meant for a 17" laptop. In the description it clearly says will fit 15" laptop, so clearly a 17" would be tight and leave little room for anything else. I love all the pockets in this bag. It fits my needs perfectly. I can organize all of my stuff and the pocket on the front flap is great for quick access to my phone and house keys. There is also a secret pocket in the main compartment that is great for keeping my wallet or any other secrets. The two inside pockets just under the front flap are great. One pocket is big enough to fit my Lesportsac makeup bag, and still have room for a few other personal items. If you are looking for an everyday bag or a replacement work bag like I was this may be the bag for you. If you are looking for a bag that you can fit your laptop and all your textbooks and school things just get a backpack. This bag is spacious but not big enough to fit a laptop, a bunch of textbooks, and notebooks. All in all I love this bag and look forward to getting more things from both osprey and Zappos! Hope this was helpful!

I checked this out on Zappos and a number of other websites. Zappos had the best price, but the ratings of the bag were lower than found on the other sites. I decided to go ahead and order it anyway to make my own decision. It was exactly as pictured and it really meets my needs. I used it as a travel bag and had multiple items in it, including computer, iPad and other business items. I love the style and design and the color isn't too "girly." Liked that there was a cushioned strap as well as handle for carrying it. Felt it was well worth the money and I'm glad I purchased it. Zappos return policy and free shipping just added to the value and my decision to order.
