Looked through hundreds, if not THOUSANDS, of bags before purchasing this from Zappos. It's the perfect size for an overworked high school student. The padding is comfortable and the bag is durable, overall. The style walks the fine line between label conscious and obnoxious. Good for boy or girl.

The outer material looks like it's really going to hold up well--it's Osprey, and that's what I would expect. The shoulder strap is substantial--I like shoulder straps, but I get they're not for everyone. The hook-and-loop points are strong and seem to be holding up well. The main compartment is huge. I came from a bag with a big secondary compartment, but all of my stuff fits into the big one on this guy. The drawstring setup really does help to keep out rain, and it's not in the way at all. Love it.

Love this bag! I was looking for something that wasn't too business-like for my laptop. It fits my 16.4" laptop perfectly and snugly with room to spare for accessories and whatnot. I was surprised that it came with extra straps in different colors.

I bought the bag for my son. He loves it. It has a place for everything so nothing moves around in the bag too much. He loves the clasps and the shoulder strap. The color was a great pleaser.

I liked the bag, but had to return it as it is really big. Though the videos on Zappos help, I guess, you really have to pay attention on how big or small is the person doing the product demo. But the product itself is great- both in terms of style and space.

This bag is great! It's roomy enough to fit my large purse in which I take to work. I love the compartments for all my miscellaneous stuff. Fashionable and comfortable to carry.

I purchased this messenger bag with my job in mine. I am always out in the field and I wanted something secure durable and lightweight. This bag is the one. Love the compartments. The mesh on the front can sometimes be annoying because it is loud when you open the bag. I'm not mad though?

I have been looking for a functional, good looking, men's messenger bag for years...years! I ordered this Osprey bag a few months ago and I'm happy to say the search is over, I've finally found the perfect bag. I purchased it specifically for work purposes but now I find myself thinking of other reasons to bring it along even when not working. The pockets are great, they're aren't a hundred little pointless pockets, like some other bags, the pockets in this bag are perfectly located and are large enough to fit many different items for your daily use. It's very comfortable and even jam packed it maintains a very low profile. I haven't had it too long but it feels very durable, I'm confident it will hold up to my daily use, no problem. Last but not least it looks awesome...even better in person than the picture. Stop reading and buy it, you won't regret it.

I have used this bag for the past six + years. Love it! It has had very hard daily use. It holds my life! Goes to work 5 days a week and has traveled extensively on the weekends. It is still in good shape. Nothing is broken or worn out. I will still use it for my everyday job. Just ordered the same exact bag for my business travel. Great pockets, easy access, comfortable shoulder strap and well planned interior. Also own a smaller version of this bag and an Osprey backpack that are equally great.

I love this bag I can fit everything in it for my master's degree program. It has great use of space and adequately stores my laptop safely. I would recommend this bag for everyone.

My 8th grader bought this beg for school. It is perfect! roomy and can carry 2 binders, supply box, lunch beg, and iPad. stylish and well designed, with many different pockets' sizes to match many needs. My son loves it!

I love this bag. I have MacBook Pro 15 inch, fits fine. A nicer, but still casual style upgrade from the old backpack.

This bag is awesome! It fits my laptop perfectly and there are lots of other pockets to hold pretty much anything else. It is well made and comfortable to use. As a bonus it also came with green, blue, and grey straps for the bottom of the bag so I can change out the colors whenever I feel like it. Highly recommend!

I love this bag. I'm incredibly particular about bags - I need pockets for the small stuff, but don't want to be overburdened by "un"functional spaces. (I hate when it "seems" like a good idea to have a million little pockets, but it's not functional.) This bag is comfortable, has smart handles on the outside and inside (because when you're looking inside, but need to hold the bag in place-so genius!) and is not too big or too small. I love the gray color with the green and orange. You won't be disappointed!

I bought this bag for my 11 year old son. It is quite big for him now, but I think it'll be okay soon! Good quality, just like the photo shown in this site. We like it!

Awesome bag for biking. All the pockets are exactly where you need them, bag doesn't slide around on your shoulder, nice and roomy. Carries everything you need. Kinda cool that you get multiple outer snap straps for color options.

I love this bag! I bought it primarily for a knitting bag, but also use it as a catch-all for work and such. This is my first Osprey and I can tell already it won't be my last. The outer hook and loop seems very strong, not sure if that will fade in time. I'm often in a hurry and don't always want to fiddle with the buckles, so that's a nice feature. I do like having the buckles, though, for when I want the extra protection. The most remarkable thing to me about this bag is, even being what I consider quite stuffed, not only does it appear to still have plenty more room to fit things in, it doesn't feel or look stuffed when on the shoulder. The shoulder strap is exceptionally comfortable. I love the array of organizational pockets as well. I can't say enough good things about it! I expect it to hold up very well! One note on color style, when I was researching the bags, I found some pictures that made the green look very different, so I was a little concerned. I would call Amazon Green, in person, an avocado color. Bright, but not blindingly so, and the patterning on the flap is a nice touch. It looks great with the grey and orange. Also, just in case anyone is wondering about the patterned lining, that was a feature only of the 2011 models of this same bag. The lining is solid on the 2012. I was slightly disappointed in that, but all in all, worth the sacrifice. Fantastic bag and Zappos has been nothing short of phenomenal in their customer service, shipping, returns, etc.

Purchased this bag for my husband, and now he rarely leaves home without it. The bag is made of quality, durable material. It's a great design with ample padding for him to carry his laptop in it. The only drawback is that it's not offered in all black which would make it a bit more versatile when he wants a more professional (but less formal than a briefcase) look.

Overall this is a good messenger bag for the price. I would have preferred at least one more exterior pocket (water) and another interior mesh pocket for incidentals. Otherwise, no complaints.

My husband bought this bag for his new job. The style is cool, the material is durable. It also has many small pockets for storage. The only concern we have is that there is no zipper above to asure everything would not fall out.

Love this bag! I wanted it to fit my 17" inch laptop so bad but...I knew I was taking a chance. The description says up to 17" but mine was too large to fit in the padded laptop area of the bag. If I didn't care so much about my laptop I would keep the bag, but I really would like to keep my laptop safe. I think the bag is supposed to be for a man but I'm female and loved it. It was good for my size (~5.5 feet). The shoulder strap was comfy and well padded. There are plenty of pockets but not too many to make the bag look bulky. That is one of the main reasons why I wanted to keep it. The other bags for large laptops are just plain. I love the style and character of this bag. Going to return it but will be purchasing the Osprey FlapJill instead. I have not owned any Osprey items but this bag seems well built. Mine had a small flaw, the stitches holding the velcro under the flap were coming undone. If I were keeping the bag I would have just fixed myself or maybe returned for a new one. It definitely wouldn't have been enough to make me not like the bag. If I had a smaller laptop, this bag would be awesome!

I'm very happy with this purchase. I was looking for a bag for my daily commute on the metro, something that wouldn't be too big but big enough to hold gym clothes, a lunch and purse items. This bag is the perfect size. There are two things this bag is missing that I wish it had: an outside zip pocket for quick access to items (i.e. metro card/cell phone) and an outside pocket to hold a water bottle. Other than that, I love this bag. One quick mention is that this bag is not black but actually more of a dark grey color.

I'll be taking this bag on a couple of major trips this summer and am eager to try it out. I've already run into one major disappointment, though - the water bottle holder on the side is far too small to hold a standard 22-oz aluminum water bottle. It's wide enough, but too shallow, and the zipper won't hold the bottle firmly enough to keep it from toppling out. This is a pretty big drawback, but I'm going to stick with the bag and see if I can't find a good way to carry the water bottle inside without it interfering with my camera and other supplies. The outside pocket may be big enough for a miniature umbrella. Fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, after just a few uses, one end of the cinch cord on the inside of this bag came completely off and I had to return it. I did like the style of the orange one very much and it was pretty comfortable for the few weeks I did have it, and it felt/looked pretty durable otherwise. One other slight gripe I had with the bag was the curve to the padding on the shoulder strap, so it felt kind of weird when wearing over the single shoulder and/or if you accidentally tried to put the bag on over the shoulder but facing the wrong way; you can definitely feel that the strap padding is designed to be used only uni-directionally & cross-shoulder because its curvature will dig into your shoulder otherwise. Zappos was excellent with the return process. Seamless and quick.
