Way too small, thin cheap fabric.
Legs have clunky boot cut

Very thin material, feels like I can tear them off with ease.
Sizes are all over the place, inseam 32 is more like 34, and size 35 is more like 33.

Been wearing this same style and size for 4 years. I've never had an issue with sizing. 32" inseam on my most recently purchased pair is so long, it almost covers my feet when I put them on. Zappos is great, but I'm going to have to choose another brand from now on.

Ordered several pairs of the 'Vintage Tint' wash (100% cotton, made in Mexico) in different sizes. For the price the fabric seems to be decent, not great but not ridiculously thin. However the sizing is inconsistent. First of all these run long, I'd guess an inch longer than the listed inseam. Second, the fit seems slightly different from one waist size to another, which to me indicates poor quality control. At any rate, the 514s are a little too tight in the thigh for me (I have biker thighs). Returned them all, trying the 505s.

First off, these are size 42. I pull off all the tags and Levi patch and THEN realize they've redesigned the waist to be a stretch waistband. WTF? I bought this same design and size before and they fit nice and perfect. Now there's way too much material in the waist. Levi's shouldn't assume all larger sizes need elastic waistband UNLESS it's advertised (these were not). Look great, fit terrible. Too late for refund.

I recently bought four pairs of these jeans. Two of them fit perfectly, and two were so tight I could hardly put them on. I called up Zappos and said that I bought some jeans that didn't fit as expected and before I could continue, the customer service rep said "they must have been a darker pair of Levi's". So this is evidently a common problem. I kept the two pairs that fit and after two months they are developing holes in the rear pocket, the hem has been torn to shreds, and areas where my phone and keys sit in the front pocket are extremely faded and starting to tear. Meanwhile, the several pairs of Levi 505 jeans I bought about eight years ago are still holding up perfectly.

So disappointed. Levi's quality control has seriously gone downhill during the past few years. I ordered 3 pairs of 514s Straight/Slim Straight the same size in different colors and the waist sizing was dramatically different in each pair. I ordered a 30in waist and 1 pair (Dirt Rush) fit like a pair of 32s - very baggy at the waist. Ridiculous.

Do not buy these jeans. They fit like all the other 514s, but they fade to a terrible dirty blueish brown. I have bought several other colors (several denims, dark gray, light gray) without any issues, but this one is borderline unwearable after a month or two and a couple of washes. They cannot be worn in any sort of nice situation as they do not look clean.

I wear 514 Slim/Straight denim all the time, and 34" waist fits perfectly. This was easily 1.5" too small.

Zappos is always a pleasure to deal with. On this current purchase, I had requested "lined" jeans and when I heard from the rep, she always included the word "lined, as I requested from the start." I asked for "lined" because of the cold weather we are having here in the East. The jeans arrived and they are fine except that there is no lining. So I got the right jeans style, but no lining to help keep out some of the zero degree weather! The rep needs to be educated in what "lined" really means.

Bought 514's because they fit my 54-year old frame and aren't cut like dad-jeans. In fact own several pair of jeans and I like the 514 style the best. Unfortunately the quality is just sad. No longer real denim like I grew up with, the material is cheap, thin and there is no way it will last. I guess for the price they are basically disposable.

These are great fitting, very flattering jeans for my tall, lean husband. Unfortunately, he quality of Levis denim has seriously declined. These jeans are paper thin. The newer Levis don't even last a year, while his older Levis are still going strong. Zappos service is great as always.

After a little more than 2 months the size 32 has bagged out to a least a 34 and needs a seriously tight belt to keep them up. All the other jeans I have owned have kept their waist size until other parts fail. Levis needs to work on their quality control regarding material. Bring back the 512s!

I am totally amazed at the poor quality of these jeans! Bought them in May and now they have worn through at the seams. Cant wear them without exposing too much. Other Levis are good for years, but not these 514s.

Levi's 514's have been my standard jeans for several years now. I tend to buy a couple new pairs a year and have always loved the fit and quality as well as the style. Unfortunately Levi's has changed these jeans and they are much different than the used to be.
The first problem, they MUCH slimmer fitting than previously. I've been a 34x30 in Levi's forever but suddenly I no longer fit a 34" waist in them comfortably. I haven't gained weight (in fact I've lost a little), and any other brand of pants I've tried in 34" recently still fit me just fine, so it's not me. In addition to the smaller waist, they are slimmer fitting in the thighs as well. 514's are not supposed to be skinny jeans- Levis has other styles if that's what you want. I'm a runner, hiker, hit the gym a lot kind of guy, so I have bigger thighs. I couldn't wear skinny jeans if I wanted to (I don't), but I don't want dorky baggy jeans either. 514's have always been perfect for me up until recently. I can barely squeeze my thighs into a pair of 514's now. Here's the kicker- I tried a pair of 36x30, and they're way too big on me. The waist is too loose, and the legs look baggier than 514's should. Not cool!
My second complaint about these is that the quality has gone down. Levis have always been a quality product made of sturdy fabric that would last a long time. You could count on them to keep you reasonably warm on colder days and to not fall apart even after wearing them many times. This too has changed. The denim they are using now is noticeably thinner and feels cheaper. It's not terrible, but they just lack that feeling of quality. I bought some 514's at Costco and upon noticing this thought maybe they were a cheaper version made specially for them, so I returned them- but when I received some from Zappos they were the same thinner fabric. Very disappointing.
I guess I'll have to start all over and find another style or band of jeans that fit right and look good. I really don't like shopping or trying on clothes so when I find an item I like, I tend to stick with it and just buy it in different colors. I would give 5 stars in all categories for the old 514's. It should be so easy to just pick up a couple pairs of these and have them fit like the ones I've been wearing for years, but unfortunately these are not the same jeans they used to be at all.

Very disappointed with this product, I got the Silver Fox color 10 months ago and looks really bad. I've done the same thing with all my jeans and I have other jeans that are in better condition purchased 2 years before this one. Also it has shrunk. Not worth the price in my opinion.

So so. I wish I'd returned them while I had the chance. Levis has really gone down the tubes in terms of quality.

I got two pairs, they looked great in the store but when I tried them on at home they did not have the same look and feel. Too baggy in the rear and around the scotch. Guess I have to have bigger balls and butt to fill these out.

Not a "slim jean", closer to boot cut, especially on a skinny and tall guy (I'm 6 foot, 160lbs). I've had 3 pairs, every pair got holes near the back pocket and the crotch, never failed. I wear these casually and wash them maybe twice a month (as you should with jeans), I did nothing to wear them out. One pair wore out after 3 months. All the pairs I had were light washes, I've noticed dark Levis don't seem to wear out as easily/at all. Bought some dark 511s as a replacement and they seem much better quality and fit.

I bought a pair of the standardize and I am very unhappy with the money that I spent for them. I bought my normal waist size and I can barely keep them on without falling down. It is like they have an elastic band in them. I would avoid buying this color.

The jeans are great ..the only problem is you advertise them as 98% cotton and 2% stretchy material..when in actuality they are 70/30 which makes them stretchier. And if I would have known this before purchasing I would have gotten a size smaller..so overall I'm not very satisfied!

I love the look and fit of these jeans so I ordered 4 different pairs. HOWEVER, three out of the 4 pairs are shredding on the back pockets without much wear at all. There is obviously something wrong with the material. My fourth pair are just starting to shred is the exact same spot as the the first 3 pairs. Not a good buy. I'm very disappointed with jeans that just fall apart.

Oh, Zappos! You advertised these as nice, 100% cotton Levis - but they are not! They are that vile, fake, stretch denim garbage that is being foisted upon us by every manufacturer - including Levi's apparently! Back they go! You might want to save yourselves a bunch of shipping expenses and update your listing. What a disappointment!

Thin material that doesn’t wash up well. Wrinkled mess. Much longer than stated length so will have to pay for alteration. Overall disappointing and would not purchase again
