I really wish Clarks made this shoe in a wide width. I love the "chukka" look and decided to try these (size 7, med. width) even though I normally wear a WW or EE width. I hoped they'd have enough give to accommodate my bunions. Wrong! I couldn't even get my foot inside the shoe, so they're going back. I even ordered a men's size 6 to compare, thinking that it would be wider; it was but was too long and just not a good fit for my wide foot, so they'll be going back too. So disappointing- this is really a good-looking boot, and I wish the folks at Clarks would realize how much of the market they're missing by catering only to people with narrow feet.

I love Clarks boots. I have 4 pr. in different colors of the Desert Trek so when I saw these, I had to get a pair. I was not disappointed. I've had them for about a month now and they feel nicely broken in. Now I have to resist the temptation to buy another pair! A style note: even though the soles are the same material as the Desert Trek, they feel a bit more substantial and even a little clunky--but nothing to distract from buying them--just a difference. Also on the soles, they are crepe, and things you should know are: don't step in gas or oily places--you won't be able to get it off, and do not pack them sole-to-sole as they can stick together. Both things can ruin the shoe I know because I've recently replaced the soles on my oldest pair and it was difficult to find someone that can or will work on them. Thankfully there was someone in my immediate area. I wouldn't trade them for anything--and have since bought more Clarks but I wished I'd known before so I could take better care. A sizing note: they have a different, less full toe, than the Desert Trek. You'll want to go up a half of size. Of course Zappos was great with the exchange.

These are just straight up cool shoes - paired with skinny jeans or cigarette pants, an anorak and Vespa and you are back in 1960's London. On the more practical side, no, they do not have arch support (and I have really high arches) but they are roomy enough that I can use my own supports. And, now all my friends want these shoes too.

I absolutely love the look of these boots. That said, they take getting used to wearing. I normally wear a 6.5 but had to go down a half size because they are very long. Also, the shoe is very tight at the instep; this is a problem I've never had before, which I resolved with a shoe stretcher. The fact that they are unlined suede means they'll stretch eventually on their own, but the narrow instep meant I was having trouble getting my foot into them. As they have no arch support whatsoever I was planning on using an insert but cannot because of the narrowness of the instep. Oh well, I'll just save them for days when I'm not going to be pounding the pavement.

I have always loved the look of these desert boots and finally got them! They are very stiff at first (signs of quality leather) and there is no real padding or arch support on the insole at all, but I plan on adding my own insert. I wear them with little socks and my jeans rolled up. Very much in the "boyfriend" style. I wear a 7 or 7.5 depending on the shoe, and have narrow feet. Went with the 7 and they fit great. I would be swimming the 7.5 for sure.

These are great with jeans when shoes are not enough and regular boots are too much! I waterproofed mine with mink oil and they get softer each time I wear them. The only drawback is not much arch support.

I have been wearing Clark's desert boots for years and have always loved them. I ordered the same size I have always worn and I could not even get my foot past the arch. The quality of this shoe compared to the one's I already own does not even compare. I even thought these might have been fake.

This is a throw back boot. I wore desert boots in the 70's. This boot looks and feels exactly the same. Clark's is a good product that always wears well. I like it a lot!

These took a couple of wears to break in, but I'm glad I stuck with them. Don't let the initial stiffness scare you off, they get much softer and comfortable. I agree with others about the arch support, so I don't wear mine when I know I'll be walking a ton. I own the Beeswax Leather ones, and I love how the richness of the brown color. They started off as a dark chocolate brown but they lighten as you wear them in. This gives them a lot of character. These look great with straight leg jeans and skirts.

I am so sad. I had this exact same boot and it got old so I just replaced it and it fits horribly. My foot hurts everywhere, especially in the toes and in the heels....

I am super bummed out. I used to own these shoes and wore them to the ground so I chucked them and replaced them with the same size and they hurt so bad. I love them so much I tried a half size larger and wore them to work today and came home with the worst blisters (I had socks on) I could barely walk into the house! Clarks, what have you done?! :(

I have looked for these for a long time and was thrilled when they arrived. They were just what I wanted. Unfortunately, they are so narrow at the instep that I cannot get them on my feet. Good as sculpture but will not work as footwear.

Awesome boots! Walked all over Italy for 2 weeks and, once I had broken them in (on the first day), it was like walking with slippers on. Very happy I bought them!

I love these shoes! I have had so many pleasant comments on these since I got them; they are sure to get compliments. They're super comfortable and great with skinny jeans or a knee-length skirt. They have a nice little heel cushion but are generally flat (which is fine for me). True to size.

These shoes are awesome! I had them in the taupe distressed and loved them so much I just ordered the grey distressed. They're not the warmest shoes on a cold day but they look super cute with jeans and cords.

These are cute and comfortable. I was looking for something for the days I teach kindergarten (all day on your feet) and these fit the bill. They also look great with boyfriend style jeans! They remind me of my days in middle school! Oops I am showing my age. Love them. Not a lot of arch support.

Ignore all ratings. Main rating is that: I cannot try them on if your security tag blocks the shoelaces.

These are my 3rd pair. Very comfortable and looks great with jeans. Zappos rocks on the shipping and customer service.

I have wide feet and the first two wears hurt a bit, but I got through it by wearing thick socks! Just be sure that you have tried on any type of Clarks before! I have another pair of heeled Clarks and was a 7½ and they fit perfectly!

These Clark desert boots are exactly what I remember from when I wore them as a child. They are comfy stylish and a really great shoe to wear with jeans. They are well made and the crepe sole provides a nice bounce in your step. If you loved them growing up you'll love them as an adult!!

I had a hard time deciding whether to buy these due to their high cost. But they are well worth it. I walk everywhere, and these shoes are very comfortable, they are roomy in the toe area and dependable in any weather. They have excellent construction and quality materials. They are highly recommend!

Clarks shoes are just terrific. These desert boots take some time to break in but are as sturdy and comfortable as you'd expect from Clarks.

Love these boots! Extra comfortable. Despite their name, they even kept my feet dry and warm in rain and the snow we had last week.

I love these boots! I got them when this color was on sale and was a little unsure about it. They go with everything! Looks amazing with black tights and a mini skirt or socks and jeans. They take a little breaking in and are a bit stiff at first. They look very flimsy, but have held up under a lot of wear. On my feet the laces could tighten a little closer, but it's no big deal. They are so fun!

Classic look, excellent quality (always with Clarks), exactly what I was looking for except that the fit was larger than marked
