Best boots ever! Love them. The do scuff up pretty easily, but IMO that's part of the look. They're pretty comfortable and undoubtedly with grow even more so as they break in. I love the color and the vibram lug sole.

Lovely boot. Great update to the campus boot with the lug sole. As usual for Frye's I ordered a 1/2 size smaller and the fit was perfect. I got brown, which is more like a cognac in person. Zappos is the best! I got my boots the next day!

This is my first review on Zappos. The Frye Campus 14G boots are GORGEOUS. The quality is unbelievable. They were very comfortable out of the box. They ran a half size too big for me. (I ordered my true size, 7, and they too big even with thick socks.) The circumference was perfect for my calf. I am 5’2” and about 115 lbs. I haven’t measured my calves, but I had an easy time getting the boots over skinny jeans. I’m sending them back because they are too big and I changed my mind about the color. I got the Brown Leather and it just didn’t look right with some of my jeans. Sadly, Zappos is sold out of the Black in my correct size :( Although I love the boot and perhaps could deal with the color and size, I can’t justify spending this much money unless the boots are PERFECT.

These boots are perfect with skirts, dresses and jeans. They are classic and will never go out of style. And, they're comfortable! I can stand/walk for hours in these boots. As far as sizing, they run about a half size too big. I just wear with heavier socks. Love them!

I wanted a nice looking black boot that had a sole that could be worn in winter. These are perfect! One mistake I made was ordering a half size larger to accomodate thicker socks. It was not necessary. Even if they were snug with a half size smaller, they would form and stretch enough that the larger size is not needed. All in all, a great boot - I've received several compliments on them!

Love these boots! I wear them under and over jeans, and with skirts, and tights. I usually like leather soles, but I am going on a snowy trip this winter and wanted boots with rubber soles. But these are so comfy, I wear them all the time. Nice heel to give me more height, but I can barely feel it. Great quality! I went down 1/2 size like my Frye harness boots.

Those boots are absolutely terrific. They are not too rough and tough for skirts, but still absolutely "empowering"! Very comfortable and the best footwear for New England's fall and winter weather. The fit is true to size, quality excellent. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anybody who is looking for a sleek, tough, universal and comfortable boot with a bit of attitude.

I just received this boot in Brown and I love it! It was exactly what I have been looking for...I have not seen this style in any store. The new lug sole makes the classic campus boot more comfortable...I plan on wearing these for years to come.

Love these Frye boots. I have 5 pair of Frye boots. I could live in them. They are comfortable and I love how they look with skirts, short and long, and pants, in or out.

I love these boots! The heel gives enough umph for me, the quality is great as expected! Definitely go down half a size at least (I'm usually a 7 but even a 6.5 was slightly big - but I'll be wearing these babies with thick socks so it worked out well). The only thing I didn't like about these was the fact that you can see the yellow/tan inner lining on the top when you wear them. I loved the boots so much that I ended up coloring the top with a black Sharpie and now it looks great. Maybe the yellow lining on top won't bother some of you, but if you do feel free to use my trick.

I auditioned many Fryes (thanks to Zappos) before settling on these. I like the lug soles, and the simplicity makes them more versatile (for a 48-year-old woman) than the harness boots, which won 1st runner-up from me. I normally wear low or no heels, so 1 3/4" feels high to me, but these get more comfy each time I wear them. Unlike harness, they don't have room for much of an added insole, but I really love 'em!

Thought I would like the boot, but the rugged bottom took away from the "Frye" look. Not horrible, just wasn't what I was looking for.

I love the leather, the color and the texture. But on me the boots look like rain boots. I would keep them if they were less expensive, but for this price I have to love them more.

The shoes look great. They have a heavy thick sole that would be good for winters. However, when I tried them on the hardened leather right below my ankle kept digging into me as I walked. It did not seem like a problem that would get better as the leather stretched since that part of the leather looked like it had been shaped permanently to fit that way.

I have a pair of Campus 14l and managed to ruin the leather sole wearing too often in the rain. I will get that pair fixed but decided for rainy Seattle I need something I do not have to worry about getting soaked. Enter the 14g! The Vibram sole will be perfect in our rainy weather. I love the lightly pebbled leather on these. The fit is exactly like the 14l...one half size large. In most shoes I wear an 8.5 in Frye a 8. So standard Frye sizing but a half size large compared to most other brands except higher end cowboy boots...whoa, that is a whole 'nother ball game where fit is concerned! For instance in Lucchese I wear 7.5 , Old Gringo I wear 8 . Shoes should not be so hard to fit but once you know your size in each brand it is much easier. Thank goodness for Zappos and the free return policy! Makes it so much easier to find your fit! Bottom line: I love my new Frye Campus 14G in black. Well made, great fit, made in America, and perfect for my cities weather. I will have to get them in brown too. Thanks again Zappos!

Really liked the rugged look of this boot. Have many pairs of Frye boots and am always a 8.5 but in this style they were a whole size too large for me. Great quality as always with Frye.

Just received this boot today, and the quality is outstanding. I am exchanging for a 1/2 size smaller. My heel/foot lifts out of the back of the heel when I walk. I hope they work out because they are such a beautiful & timeless boot.

Bought these for my wife in size 9.5. They ran true to size and fit her perfectly. Originally bought the black ones but wife preferred brown. The return service through Zappos couldn't have been easier. Grade A service!

I bought this boot in brown in a 6.5. The color is perfect with nice variances in the hide to make them look great with so many colors. I'm 5' tall, 120 lbs, and wear a size 4 or 6. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 shoe but found I'm always a 6.5 in Frye's. I find I have trouble with my calves, even if I think they're average (about 14.5" at the biggest part), when wearing boots over skinny jeans, but these fit great with my skinny jeans and didn't look too big over tights & leggings. Like my other pair of pull-on Frye boots, I expected some slipping in the heel area, but it was not uncomfortable. I wore these out of the box for thirteen hours straight at work. Though I felt some areas where the leather was rubbing my ankle, I didn't have a single blister when I took them off.

These boots were comfortable out of the box, but I have somewhat narrow feet, so I added an extra insole for a better fit. They are much more flexible than they look in the photos, and quickly mold to your foot. The lug sole is perfect for icy, snowy Maine winters. I have another pair of Frye 14L campus boots that I wear when there is no snow and ice, because those soles don't grip as well. These boots look nice with both jeans and skirts and are a timeless style. Zappos service is fantastic! Way easier than going to a store, and the back and forth free shipping makes using Zappos a no-brainer.

Firstly, I can't believe these got here the next day! I live on an island and nothing ever gets here the next day, but Zappos managed it. I really like these. I'm pretty small (5' 3" with skinny calves) and these fit fine. I followed other reviewers' advice and got a half size down. I'm usually a 6.5-- the 6 fits me perfectly, with just enough room to spare.

I should have listened to the reviews that said to buy a half size smaller. I wear an 8.5 in almost every shoe line. I have a high instep and no heel, so I usually have to wear clogs/mules or slingbacks. My left foot is a true 8 and my right foot is 8.75! So these were WAY too big at 8.5. The 8 itself is going to be too big for my size 8 foot but perfect for my size 8.75 right foot. They look wonderful but, with my high instep, going a size or even a half size smaller, I won't be able to get my foot angled into it. Sending them back for the Veronica. Lovely, though! And arrived the next day! Amazing!

I like the lug sole. Sometimes I am a 9 1/2 or 10 and the 9 fit in these. Just too tight for larger calves. I had to send them back. My winter boot quest is still on - after five pair of boots - but Zappos Rocks with their return policy. I do not buy boots anywhere else!

I bought these for the fall and I love the classic, simple style and the rich leather. My only complaint is that the sizing is way off. I normally wear an 8 1\/2 and ordered an 8 because I heard they run large. The 8\'s were way too big, so I exchanged them for 7 1\/2\'s, which are still too big. This will be my last attempt to get these boots to fit before I give up.

Usually I wear an 8 in dress shoes, 8.5 in athletic shoe. I ordered 7.5 and the boots feel more than one size bigger. Even with thick socks, they still feel big, my foot moves inside. They are heavy, I feel I drag them when I walk. Disappointed.
