Beautiful shoes. Very well made. Unfortunately, the sides are too high and painfully cut into my ankle. I'm going to be sending them back. Thankfully, Zappos makes this easy.

I loved these shoes-- they were so comfortable from the moment I put them on, and they look so smart and polished with jeans and a cute jacket for work. The too short shoelaces frayed and broke within a month, but were easily replaced. Within three months though, I had worn clear through the sole of the right shoe. Clear through. At the ball of the foot. I don't think my cobbler can fix that without replacing the soles of both shoes. Too bad. Also? What's wrong with my crazy feet that I only wore through the right shoe? I might actually buy them again, but put some kind of protective sole protector on them to extend their wear. Or not. Three months isn't very long, considering the cost. Please note, I'm a city girl, and I walk a lot so my experience probably isn't typical.

Beautiful construction, fantastic workmanship, comfortable and true to size but why make a lovely pair of shoes and then put on shoelaces that are way too short? I could barely get them tied. It makes no sense to spend good money on shoes and then have to go hunting for new laces and then pay extra for them. What a shame -- they are such nice shoes! This is why I gave an overall 3 stars. Zappos, of course, makes it easy to get them and send them back. Thanks.

Really nicely made, but a little too masculine in styling and the shoe strings are barely long enough to tie.

I am sorry to write a negative review but I feel compelled to write that I received two pair of these shoes and both were of terrible quality. The first pair I purchased had wrinkly hard leather so back they went. I loved the style, so I ordered another (half a size smaller as they seemed to run a tad long). The second pair were worse than the first. The leather was wrinkled, splotchy, and there were stitches missing on the sole.

I wear a 6 1/2 or 7. Ordered a 7 -- super cute shoe, but way too big. Will probably need a 6.

High quality oxford! The leather is thick and stiff, with a nice sheen, but flexible when walking. I wear a size 10, and bought a 9 based on previous reviews. The 9 fits perfectly. The look is classy with trousers, and I like the tone of the dark brown and very versatile. I have just ordered a second pair in black. The only thing I would change is the outer sole. I think it should have at least a strip of rubber for traction.

Such a cute, comfortable shoe. Very well made for the relatively low price. Bought them to wear in Paris with tights and short-ish skirts. I wanted a good walking shoe that was still chic and these were perfect. They fit true to size and are immediately comfortable, but feel even better after each wearing. One complaint: the laces are too short to tie properly. I had to replace them.

This shoes obviously very well made and would make nice dress shoes - but they are too stiff and slick for me. I imagine they'd break in with wear, but I like my shoes to fit and feel good (or at least relatively good) from the start.

Beautiful oxford shoe! I purchased in the Cognac (its a little less dark brown and doesn't quite have the color variation as in the photo), so I added a little mink oil to the toe/heel etc to give it that "worn in" appearance that added some depth. The shoe leather is fantastic, a nice smooth quality leather toe, but a softer leather around the ankle which makes it super comfy. I first wore these to a wedding where there was lots of dancing and my feet felt great.

I just got these and love them already. I wanted to add that they are far cushier than I had expected! What a welcome surprise. They are going to be very comfortable. I read the mixed reviews on size and since I usually wear 8 or 8.5, went with the 8.5, but that was a mistake. I'm exchanging for the 8 now. They are pricey, but the quality seems worth it.

I love the masculine, unisex look for this shoe. It makes for a very versatile yet classic addition to my wardrobe. I love that the laces are a bit abbreviated so that I don't have huge floppy bows dangling off my feet. I am an expert at tying laces at this point in my life, and these pose no obstacle. One other reviewer did mention that the shoe ran a little long and that is what I have found in my case. I'll just be going down a 1/2 size and Zappos will make this exchange easy I am sure. The Erin's are super comfy and will break in well - Love these!

These shoes are exquisitely made and very comfortable. Feels like I will have them for a long, long time and they will only get better, just like Frye boots. They are worth the investment.

Great shoe, good looks and solidly made with quality leather. The sole is thick enough so that it doesn't hurt the ball of my feet and is very comfortable overall for leather shoes. Does take some time to break in, but not bad. I ordered a half size smaller than my usual and wear thin socks and that works. Shoe laces can be rewired to give more tying length- wire it straight across rather than crossing. Would get another Frye shoe and maybe another color of these!

SO beautiful! I have the burnt red, and it's a gorgeous color. Not quite as brilliant as on the screen-but the muted russet is even prettier. I love seeing the signs of hand construction--you can tell it's not machined. And they were perfectly comfortable from the first wear for me. I have feet on the wider end of medium, so am not used to leather shoes fitting so well right away. If I were a millionaire, I'd buy one in every color.

The she laces are way too short. Help me understand why the shoe laces are so short that I can barely tie them? For a brand like Frye I find this so weird. The shoes are beautiful and fit true to size. 99 percent of the time I am a 6. In high heels sometimes a 5½, in athletic shoes generally a 6½. Without socks there is no rub and they feel smooth to my skin - nice. I bought these with the Frye Jenny Fold Over bag in Whiskey Soft Vintage Leather. I must say, it is a gorgeous pairing. My spring look will be these shoes, skinny jeans, crew sweaters with peter pan collar blouses, pearl earrings. And the bag, of course, the bag.

These shoes are great! I bought them as dress-y shoes for a "nice-casual" office in the winter so I would have something I could wear socks with. They seem like they will take a little to break in, but in the meantime they are still beautiful. Great color, I get lots of compliments - I got the Cognac. I would say, if you plan to wear anything other than thin socks with this, size up a 1/2 size - otherwise you should be okay to order your regular size!

Love these! They are super comfy and look luxurious. However, they are pretty masculine so you should be comfortable with that side of you.

Great shoe, super comfy, super classy. The leather is extremely nice and supple. Runs 1/2 size big, will return and order the same one in a 7.5 instead of an 8.

This shoe was really comfortable but I am not a fan of the rounded toe; returned and bought the James wingtip.

These shoes were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted the oxford style and these fit the bill. The width of my foot is between medium and wide. I found the width just right. Shoes were well made (love the leather sole) and are very comfortable.

Absolutely love these shoes! They are incredibly comfortable. I can wear these all day. I wear these with jeans bar-hopping on the weekends and with skirts to work during the week, perfect shoe!

I absolutely adore these oxfords. I usually wear a size 9 in Frye boots, and the size 9 in these fit me perfectly with medium-thick socks, and are fine with dress socks, as well. Heel doesn't slip and plenty of room for toes (I have a narrow heel and wider forefoot). Beautifully constructed and finished; very comfortable. Sole is slick, but I'll probably have sole-savers put on them, anyway, so this isn't an issue for me. Highly recommend.

The shoe is comfortable and cushioned. The leather is smooth not wrinkled as some of the other reviews mentioned. I am a true 6 but ordered the 5.5 and it fits perfectly, with and without socks. The shape is fabulous. The toe doesn't stick up as much like the pictures advertised. They look and are very sturdy shoes. I opted for oxfords for spring instead of flats because the lace ups would be more comfortable for an all day outing and flats are a bit tiresome! Love these Frye shoes.

This is one of the most comfortable non-comfort shoes I have ever worn, walkable right out of the box. It looks like they may not be making them anymore, which I dearly hope is not true, as now I want another pair in something like oxblood. Frye, hear my pleas!
