I tried on a pair of regular Chuck Taylor All Stars, which are essentially the same shoes, in the mall and the padding/insole seemed terrible. Also the shoes seemed really narrow. I liked the look of these a lot, so I ordered them. The padding seems more substantial in the Star Player Ev Ox as the padding looks pretty thick. They are pretty comfortable with this new insole, and I have to lace them up loose at the bottom so the toe box is not cramped. But these shoes look awesome, and I even got a second pair in the black/white (this pair was white/cloud grey/black). And for the price it is a great deal. I wear a 10½ in about 90 percent of shoes, sometimes a 11. I got these in size 10 as I read Converse seem to run half a size to a full size larger.

Awsome shoes, look and feel great. I exchanged the phaeton grey for the cloud grey/black/white. the phaeton grey just looked too washed out (like nurse shoes). The cloud grey with black stitching and highlights have a great contrast.

I love my shoes, they fit perfectly and are really comfortable. And I love Zappos! Always fast delivery and great products!

Super comfy straight out of the box and uber stylish - get compliments on them all the time. I usually wear a size 6.5 (womens) and bought a 6 (typical for Converse). Great shoe!

Love these. More substantial than the Chuck Taylors. They run big! I'm usually a women's 9 or 9.5, ordered the 7s - too big. Exchanged for the 6s which fit well.

Bought these in my sneaker size (half size larger than dress shoe). Love the style and grey/blue color combo. Better arch support than many day wear sneaks. Also, very light.

I've been wearing Chucks for years and was glad to find a pair with the star and chevron so I had to pick up a pair. I don't know how long ago Converse started making their shoes with the single layer of material. But these go back to the double layer making them much more comfortable. And the extra padding around the ankle only adds to this. Overall they just feel like better quality. The first pair I bought from Zappos were the black ones and they do run big; at least a half to full size larger. When it came time to order another pair (I couldn't stop at just one!), I got them in an 11 instead of my usual 12 as the 11 and a half were not available. I was a little worried that they would be too small. But they are still quite comfy! So, if you are going to get them, go at least a 1/2 size lower. Great shoe and now deciding on the next color!

These are my first Chucks. Really comfortable. Great look. Definitely not my last.

I love the Chucks, but it feels like everyone has a pair, so this is a nice change of pace. And the fit feels a wee bit more comfortable than the All-Stars.

I had been wearing the Converse Chuck Taylor but was unhappy with the lack of any padding around the very low ankle collar. The Star Player EV Ox provides the same rugged all-rubber sole and canvas upper as the Chuck Taylor, but also provides a higher ankle collar with that much needed cushioning. An excellent shoe.

Really comfortable shoes. However, I had to return the first pair I ordered because they felt a full size larger than my regular shoe size.

Love these! Color on Zappos looks a little darker than the actual shoe. Needed to get a size smaller, but size matches other Converse shoes.

They seem to run a full size larger than marked. I received the replacement shipment next day air, free of charge! Now, I ask myself why I never bought Converse in the past because these shoes are great!

Sizing is the same as original Chucks. These are more comfortable because they have more cushion around the ankle opening. Also, they are warmer and probably more durable because the canvas of the whole shoe is thicker. I like these as an alternative to the original Chucks I usually wear.

Shoes came super super fast, and they look awesome. I usually wear a 8 in Chuck Taylors (I wear a 9 in every other shoe) so I ordered same size and they fit perfect. I recommend buying the same as you would Chucks. Very cool charcoal color and glad I bought the last size 8's in that color.

Classic style is never passe'. These One Star Player EV by Converse add just the right touch to a pair of cropped jeans and a big slouchy sweater. The fit is perfect and the feel is comfy. I love these shoes!
