Just ordered these in both 6.5 and 7 and I normally wear shoe size 7.5 and occasionally 8s. I will be keeping the 6.5! Yes, they are a bear to pull on at first (put those pull tabs to use!), but the leather will stretch with time and wear. I compared the length of them to several pair of my 7.5 shoes and boots and they are the same, even a little longer in some cases. Would warn others not to go bigger because you may end up with a sloppy fit. Have a pair of Frye harness boots in size 7 that feel like 8s they have stretched so much.

I'm just now reviewing these & it's been 2 years ago that I purchased them, but here it goes. This was my 1st pair of Frye's & now I have 4 pairs, but this is by far my favorite & most comfortable of them all! This is also the only pair where I'd definitely recommend 1/2 size down, they stretch & conform to your foot. I wear an 8 in everything but have these in a 7.5. They have held up great & look fabulous & are buttery soft. I love them!

I almost didn't buy these because of the calf measurements, but so glad I did! These work both over and under jeans. I was worried about wearing the red boots with dark denim, that the blue dye would rub off. I had them coated in a weatherproof spray, but the cobbler says it can't be avoided. The fit is a little big, but narrow in the toe. Ive never worn cowboy style boots before, so the fit takes some getting used to. Stuffing big socks into them doesn't make them fit better. I only wish it would stop raining so that I could wear these every day.

Best boot I have ever owned. I put them on the first day and they took mins to break in. Wear them all the time, hours of walking or just sitting in class. Love, love, love them! I normally wear an 8 1/2 to a 9 depending on the shoe, I took into account what others had said, and I went with my smaller size, fits perfect! So you might want to go for a half size smaller.

I got these last year in cognac and love them! I agree that they definitely run 1/2 size too big. I wear between a 7 1/2 and 8, and I got a 7 1/2, but I still have to wear thick socks with them. I'm hoping they don't stretch. These boots go with everything; they are really comfy and get lots of compliments. Love!

Great boot! Perfect height. I purchased in red and blue. I usually wear a size 8 but after reading previous review I went with size 7.5 and they fit perfect! Love them!

These boots are beautiful. I didn't think I would like a lower heel but these look terrific. The leather is high quality and soft. The boots fit like a glove. They are very similar in style to the "Taylor" Frye boot, just a lower heel. I'll wear these for years. Well worth the investment.

Thank you, Zappos! Ordered these yesterday early evening and they arrived today! Better yet, these Carson pull on boots are fantastic! I received the Carson Harness for Xmas, and from that experience I knew I needed to order a 1/2 size down. I still where med. weight socks and I have ample wiggle room for feet to spread out. These fit like a charm just like the Carson Harness. Here is some info for those of you choosing Frye boots. The Carson Harness are wonderful; however, the Carson Pull on is lighter weight and not quite as rugged since it doesn't have the harness. The shaft of the Carson pull on dips in the front and back, while the Carson Harness' shaft is even all around. The heel is about 1/4 inch lower for the Carson Pull on. That makes them a little more comfortable. I ordered the Carson Harness in dark brown (beautiful color, not really a dark brown--it is a very rich color--beautiful!). However, I didn't like the Carson Harness in black -- too black. However, the slightly different style of the Carson Pull on looks great in black -- good for skinny jeans, leggings, and even sweater dresses or under casual pants. I am really set with both of these terrific Frye boots. Remember to go down a 1/2 size. Both are well made boots that are very versatile. They both smell heavenly of good leather. I love these boots! They are a rich, warm shade of red -- neither too dark nor too Superman-ish, they are easy to pull on and take off, and with just the right heel -height. They work well worn over jeans, with my skinny jeans tucked in, and with some of my skirts when I want to inject a bit of fun into my mostly-dark wardrobe. They are well worth the price and the inconvenience of trying to get them shipped into Canada. If you wonderful Zappos people would start shipping directly to your eager Canadian fans up here you would make a lot of people like me very happy!

Fantastic! I've been wanting these for years, and finally indulged myself. Perfect fit, not a single rub on my crabby feet, soft, lovely leather, incredibly comfortable. Endless compliments whenever I wear them. Worth every penny.

I ordered these boots to wear to a concert. I ended up walking about 1.5 miles in them the first time I wore them and they were great. The fit was great and they are very comfortable. Love the color. I wear an 8.5 and the fit was perfect.

I love these boots! These are the most comfortable shoes I own! I normally wear an 8.5 in most shoes, or a 9 in sneakers and the size 8 in these fit me perfect! They probably fit me better than any shoe I've ever owned. They have padding on the inside for extra support and comfort. I feel like I'm wearing sneakers when I'm wearing these! I got the burnt red color, it was the only color available in my size besides navy. The color is pretty accurate to the picture shown here, maybe a tiny bit more red/brighter. I was hesitant about getting the red, but they are fun, sexy, unique and will match my wardrobe great. The only thing I'm confused about is they're made in Mexico? I thought Frye were supposed to be American made? Anyway, this is a great boot! I know these will last for many years and I will be looking forward to getting more colors in this style!

I love these boots. I do not find that they run large as most people say. I have a wider foot and actually take them 1/2 size larger than usual. This fawn color is great for spring!

Gorgeous boots, runs a 1/2 size large. Cowboy boots should fit a little snug and they stretch over time. This leather is so supple it is really going to stretch! Beautiful boot!

Love them. Went down to 8.5 from previous size 9 and they fit perfectly. Color is fantastic, a true burnt vibrant color (not siren trashy red).

Love these boots. The fit, the color, the feel, the leather. Really appreciated the comments of other viewers -- I ordered a half size smaller than usual and it was definitely the right thing to do. Also, I knew they'd be a wee bit hard to pull on until I get used to it, as several others wrote, so I wasn't spooked when it happened to me. I don't usually spend this much on shoes/boots but I feel they are worth every penny.

Adore these boots - bought the smoke a couple of years ago and just caved and bought the fawn...so comfy - great with skirts, shots and jeans. A real classic.

Love these boots. The calf is really soft and flexible, but still stays up. The footbed fits my foot perfectly. Love the kicky red color.

For months I dreamed of these boots. I would "visit" them on the Zappos website almost daily, but I thought they were too pricey to justify buying them. In a moment of weakness, I gave in and ordered them. I am happy to report that I have zero regrets or remorse. I literally haven't taken these boots off since I got them (except to sleep, of course). The style is classic, the fit is amazingly comfortable and the craftsmanship is undeniable. Worth every penny!

I live my new boots! The leather is butter soft, no breaking in was necessary, my feet are on the wider end of medium = the width fits nicely. They don't mash on my bunion, my heel does not slide around, the toe shape is interesting peeking through the bottom of my jeans - I dislike overly plain toe boxes. I don't wear them, but skinny jeans would fit nicely inside. The top of the boot is only slightly wider than the ankle, looks sleek, not overly western. I did get grip soles on the front portion, they are very slippery on carpet, a hazard with most leather soles.

These are the cutest boots. I got them in red and get tons of compliments. If you like boots with shorts, there are the ones for you. Very comfortable too!

Love the boot! I made the mistake of ordering a half size smaller, like everyone mentioned. It didn't work for me. I ordered my normal size and they're perfect. Love the dark chocolate color, and they are super comfy in my normal size. Good room in the calf too!

Love these boots! My only regret is that I didn't listen to other reviews and order at least a 1/2 size smaller. I'm usually a solid 9.5, sometimes a 10 (rarely a 9) and wear a 9.5/10 in my other Frye boots so I got the 9.5. Upon first putting them on, they were a little tight (and I have flat, fairly narrow feet) so I thought they'd be fine, although they were a bit long. Bad idea! Within one wearing they easily stretched a bit and now I'm wishing I'd gotten the 9. Oh well, nothing a pair of insoles and/or thicker socks won't fix, the boots are gorgeous!
