This is my first time in La Sportiva - I swore by Asics, but their trail shoes didn't work for me this year - couldn't find a pair that fit right. These shoes have plenty of room in the toe box, but good fit and support. They feel nimble on the trail. I tried on several pairs (other brands and styles) (thank you, Zappos!) and these were by far the most comfortable. A little more cushioning might be nice, but this could be remedied with insoles, I think, and I'm trying some now. I use my shoes mostly for hiking on rough trails. I'm thinking of buying another pair while they're still available.

Am looking for summer trail/dog walking shoes. I have tried these in a few sizes. i think the big toe area is too narrow. Not the whole toe box area. I have ordered W 8.5 and W 9. Thanks to zappos generous return policy I’m about to try the W 9.5. I like that they don’t have leather (aka cruelty free), the blunt design of the toe shape makes my large feet look smaller (I’m short so i’m self conscious about having big feet), I like the grey, and they’re super grippy. I’m going to rate them 5 star and say they run a tiny bit small. I think better to get a little larger and add a cushion insert or wear thicker socks than to get a blister from wearing them too tight.

I bought my regular running shoe size and a size up. I'm keeping the bigger one so my toes don't hit the end of the shoe when I go downhill. They are comfortable for me right out of the box. I haven't worn them hiking or running yet, but the sole seems like it will be grippy so I won't have to worry about slipping on wet or muddy ground. The toe box is roomy enough but not such that my foot moves around too much. I like some support in a trail shoe and these have it. Cushioning is great.

The shoes look cool and feel super comfortable, but the soles after two weeks of walking and running stared to wear out really badly. The same happened to my friend. I do not recommend this shoes.

Found this shoe very difficult to get on. There's an elasticized piece that goes over the tongue. Not possible to fully loosen laces. Not only is it difficult to get foot in the shoe, I found the elastic across the top of the foot created pressure that could not be relieved. A really strange design and for me, a deal breaker. Too bad because the cushioning and support are great.

The fit of the La Sportiva Wildcat shoe is narrow, which is exactly what I needed. They fit my AA-width foot very well. It is hard to get them on and off because of the elastic band under the tongue, but it is certainly doable. I have to wear orthotics, so it's possible that they would be easier to get on and off without that extra filler in the shoe. I can't really comment on the shoe's arch support because I wear orthotics.

If you have a narrow foot, it might be worth looking at Vasque.

La Sportiva makes THE best trail shoe hands down. This is my 3rd pair of the exact same shoe. They feel great on my foot, a real sturdy shoe, but not in a rigid way, more like a "they make my foot feel safe" way.

Love these shoes, they have great grip on wet or dry surfaces. Very comfortable and support is great.

I'm on the website because my first pair finally died after five summers of backpacking trips. I always felt confident of sure footing in them. My feet never got hot and stayed warm. I've done slot canyons and they dried out each night. I agree the mesh upper gets holes but that seems a small price to pay for the rest. And I agree with the other reviewer who wishes they made a Women's in 44; I have to buy men's too.

I bought these a few months ago but an injury kept me from using them until recently. They're comfortable and fit great, and the first few times I used them, I was psyched. But then, I did a trail with wet rock. Oh boy. I couldn't get a grip on anything. I was having to crab-walk / use my hands to keep from falling, and even still I was slipping and sliding all over the place. I was with someone who was wearing a different brand of shoe, and they were not having this issue. In fact, they were having to stop every few feet in the wet spots to offer me a hand. I live in the southeast, and things are often wet. I'm not looking for water shoes, but I've never had such poor grip with any sole before. I was so anxious moving in them during this short trail that I doubt I'll wear them again. Such a bummer :(

Just purchased my 4th and 5th pairs . Great for day hikes. Lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. I also appreciate the toe protection.

The La Sportiva Wildcat has great stability, feels very well constructed and durable, and is nice looking. I did not expect to get compliments on these shoes, but have gotten quite a few. I use an orthotic insert, so I can't comment on the arch support. I have a narrow foot and they fit me very well. At first they were hard to get on because of the design of the tongue, but that has gotten easier with time. I have worn them on hiking trails and in cities and the tread has been fine - no slipping. For more challenging trail hiking, I use hiking shoes with deeper tread.

I’ve trekked around in La Sportivas, wore them out, and decided to get another pair. I was due to meet friends for a hike and tracked down my UPS man on GPS so that I could wear my new shoes on my hike that day. Made it just in time to the trailhead:) Shoes are super comfy and feel like home to me!

I sized up a bit because my feet are wide. I love these shoes!! I have owned them for about a year now. They are my absolute favorite for going on walks and they do well on uneven terrain (small pebbles, dirt, uphill, downhill) making them great trail shoes. They have held up very well considering how much I use them, but I do more walking than running.

I love La Sportiva ultra raptors. These wildcats would be a 2nd choice if I could buy two pair. This does not cradle my foot like ultra raptor- might have something to do with the toe/heel drop (which I don’t understand). Lotsa room and height in toe box. Very light weight. I always put “sole” or “oboz” inserts in my shoes. ZAPPOS delivery was a day ahead of scheduled.

I bought these as an in-between choice for hiking when I wanted more support than a soft athletic shoe and more lightness than my La Sportiva hiking boot. I like the cushioning, especially behind in the heel where I have a bone spur from an old Achilles Tendon repair. I have high arches. Perhaps this is why the elastic band which secures the tongue sometimes feels a little snug on the top of my foot. To remedy this, I relaxed the shoes so there is a extra cross after the first holes. This allows me to snug up the toe area and then loosen the laces over the snug area, and then finally tightening it again at the finish of the lacing.

Ordered a size 9, but too short. The 9.5 is perfect! Wore them all day yesterday, very comfortable, good arch and ankle support for off trail running, hiking.

My foot is too wide for this shoe. I loved style, support & traction. I ordered an 8.5, replaced it with a size 9, but they were too tight across my foot??

I have been wearing zero drop shoes since 2015. While searching unsuccessfully for another pair I came across these. With fingers crossed I ordered them. I like them and not only will I buy another pair but will gladly recommend.
