I wear a size 6 in pants and dresses, but for some reason have gigantic calves - maybe playing soccer when I was growing up? I have NEVER been able to wear a pair of boots before these. NEVER. The circumference of my calf is 16" and sometimes I can’t get boots on past the ankle and it is so embarrassing that I don’t even bother to ask to try them on in stores. I bought these on a whim, though, and I seriously could not be more pleased. You can wear them with the fuzzy flap up or down--there is a leather strap in the back that you can untie, flip the leather, and retie. I wear the flap down when paired with leggings and skirts; I flip it up over jeans or underneath trouser-leg jeans for extra warmth. All women’s Merrells I have found to be EXTREMELY comfortable and supportive. These are no exception, and they are the toastiest my feet have ever been in winter. I wear them outdoors for 8 to 10 hours at a time and my feet will be the warmest part of my body. I want to buy two more pairs in case styles like this become discontinued—couldn’t be more highly praising of them.

Beautiful boots, nice leather, good quality. I bought them because I live on a farm and need something water and mudproof (suede does not work for farm life). They did not look good on me, unfortunately. I am tall and slim and the boots looked heavy and chunky on me. They also did not support my arch very well, but only because I have exceptionally narrow feet. I don't want to rate them, because they might work perfect for somebody else.

These boots are so cute and comfortable. I bought them for our Antarctica trip. Wore them in rain and cold and feet stayed warm. Look good with jeans tucked in or worn out. Receive compliments on them. These probably run true to size because they were a little too big for me, but most 5s are. But I like the roomy fit for boots; can wear thick socks with them.

Gotta LUV this boot. The Oslo is snow proof, waterproof, and styles into Genghis Khan territory...looks elegantly punky with a business skirt and tights or ruggedly female ("I am woman hear me roar") with jeans and a big sweater. As always, Merrell products are top drawer quality. Lastly, free those poor toes from the drudgery of winter socks! Fleece boots = free warm toes. The Oslo is splendid all around for the NW and other climates with much winter and cold, wet spring. (M for mud?) I bought these in black and brown for many seasons to come. Sweeeeeeet!

Merrell’s Oslo boot - Great boot, it took me 5 different boots to find the right one after comparing 2 Earth boots, another Merrell boot, and a Sorel boot, this one was the winner. It fit great, looks great, is very comfortable; and if you need to you can remove the insole for your own orthotic, it’s also waterproof. Who wants a snow boot that’s going to get wet?? We have had a ton of snow this year so was happy to find a well made boot that looks great over your jeans or however you want to wear them. They were also true to size.

Just right - utility, warmth, and nice looking - Good warmth, excellent waterproof-ness, and excellent traction - love the height, softness, support, and look - plan to wear them for many winters to come - they make the long, cold, snowy winter more bearable.

I was told by a friend that her podiatrist recommended NB shoes, and she had been very happy with hers. As usual, the Zappos service was outstanding! The shoes are not very attractive, but give a new meaning to "comfortable". When walking any distances in any of my other "name" shoes, either my back, knees or legs would hurt to the point of being crippled. I feel like I can do any amount of walking now without any pain! I recently spent several hours on my feet going through an antique mall, and didn't have to stop or take medication at the end of it! Great shoes!!!!!!!

Warm and comfy - These boots are great! My 10 year old Merrell's, a different style, were no longer warm, and these are a welcome replacement. I can pull them on w/o using the zippers. They are wide enough to easily tuck in my jeans. Most importantly they are warm! It's been a cold winter in Chicago.

Warm, Dry Feet all Winter long - These boots are cute not high fashion but with Chicago winters they are perfect. My feet have been dry and toasty even on the sub-zero days, I haven't fallen once and I have gotten many compliments. Couldn't be happier. Thanks.

Awesome Boots - The Oslo boot is awesome. I live in the state of North Dakota where the temperature gets to 40 below. These keep my feet so warm and they are so cute. I purchased these in brown and they go with everything. Very waterproof, too. This boot is for sure a pair I will have for a long time. I ordered these boots before Christmas and they came the next day. I couldn't believe it, plus the shipping was free. If you are looking for a good snow boot that is not bulky, yet look good, these are it. I have small feet and had to order half a size down so keep that in mind. I can wear a thin sock, but I also can go to a thick sock.

Fabulous boot! This boot is everything I was looking for! I live in Chicago, and walk a mile to and from the train station each day. After three weeks trudging through slush, ice and snow, my feet have stayed completely dry and warm. They look great too - it seems I get a compliment on them every day. They are easy to clean - I just wipe the salt and dirt off with a damp cloth. I highly recommend these for both function and style.

Love these boots! Warm and waterproof. What more do you need for a winter like this one? Soles have good tread and help prevent slipping.

Cute boot, but I found them to be a bit short. I can sometimes wear a 1/2 size smaller and narrow, and in a boot, even a size smaller in some brands.

Awesome Boot - Perfect - Love It! I have searched for years for a boot that really is waterproof, comfortable, warm (but not too warm, we live in Southern Cal). Believe me, I've tried them all. I could never get the right combination of quality, fit, etc. This boot is wonderful and perfect in every way. It goes on easily with the zipper, which is not at all noticeable (I had to search for it! Very unobtrusive). It is nicely fitted with a wide toe box so my foot isn't "rubbed" or squished inside. I also love that it is not too loose and "floppy" feeling when on (a problem I had with my Ugg boots). This boot has a very nice, secure, comfortable fit. I am a size 11 and have trouble finding shoes/boots that aren't too big or too small. This is a true 11 - perfect. Great quality, it even has nice little details like a flap on the inside protecting your leg from the zipper rubbing against it. Merrell has great quality and holds up wonderfully. It truly is waterproof, too, not just "water resistant". Nothing is penetrating these boots! No spraying required. Good tread and traction, no surface would be a problem with these. The extra protection between the outsole and boot is great, too (the bottom tan area in the picture). It really helps reduce scuffing, etc. You could turn them up, the laces on the top back allow for adjustability, but I usually just wear them as pictured. Love this boot, my ten year search is over! I will happily be wearing this for years to come!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these boots! I'd been searching high and low for a comfy, somewhat stylish pair of black snow boots that would keep my feet warm, especially during Steelers games. I'd tried another pair (different brand, just as expensive), but had to return them due to the fact that they were extremely painful. When I tried these boots on, I could hear the clouds parted and the angels sang: I found the boots I'd been searching for! In all seriousness, they're VERY comfy, waterproof (yippee!), and my feet are nice and cozy warm. Love them!!!

Great boots - Merrell shoes usually work really well for me, so I thought I'd try the boots. I was not let down. They are fairly light in weight (about the same as tennis shoes), so they're nice to walk in. They are really warm, almost too warm, and very waterproof. They are wide enough for thick socks and tucking jeans into. I have no problems going for walks in them up to a few miles. The fur trim and lace in the back makes them cuter than your standard winter boot. My last pair of winter boots were Uggs, and I like this boot much better. It is not as heavy and wears more like a tennis shoe. Love them!

NICE BOOT! Warm, comfortable, lightweight, good-looking, true-to-size, and sure-footed on ice/snow. I've worn them to power walk through a couple of inches of snow, and they feel as "dainty" as my running shoes. Love 'em!

These boots were made for dancin’! I got these boots to wear at a music festival in the cold, danced warmly all 3 days. I ordered an 8.5, sent it back and got the 9. They run snug, but I have degenerative disc disease and these boots are excellent source of alignment and balance. Also, they are not my 1st Merrill boots, I knew going in they aren’t a dainty feminine boot, but they rock! Sweet boot, spend the money, and get excellent quality. Wear a thin sock even though they say you don’t have to.

Fab! These are well made and so, so warm. They are bulky, but still super cute. Of course fashion usually goes out the window when the weather gets below zero. So I am very happy to have something that is both form and function. The fur part flips up for extra warmth and the inside is crazy soft. To top it off, Merrell is a wonderful company. They really know what they are doing over there!

THE BEST - I can't just wear any shoe/boot, it HAS to be comfortable from the start. These are great for comfort, 1/2 size larger fit me fine. No breaking in time needed.

Cute, comfortable, and practical - I wore these new boots in our first snow of the season! They are excellent - they fit well, they are obviously cute, they are waterproof, and have a nice tread on the bottom (unlike a lot of cute wintery-style boots). There is a zipper on the side of the boot, but I can usually just slip them on and off without using the zipper.

Great winter boot! I cannot wait for the cold weather to set in so I can wear these cute boots! I have a high arch and had to return them for a 1/2 size larger for a comfortable fit. Other than the arch, it fit pretty true to size. They look great with jeans tucked in and are very comfortable.

BEST BOOT EVER!! This is THE boot for the person who wants a serious winter boot without sacrificing style. Incredibly comfortable, perfect fit, great support, a very cool look for a waterproof boot. Zipper makes for easy on and off, very easy to tuck jeans in. I LOVE THIS BOOT!!!

I LOVE these! Very warm, great looking. I bought them a size bigger than I usually wear and I am glad I did. The only "negative" is that I wish the side zipper went all the way up. They are a little hard to put on but worth the trouble.
