I bought my first a pair of these shoes about 20 years ago in Manhattan. Fell in love with them. Great fit, neutral color (in light grey); go with everything because of a light style and snuggly look fit. I traveled with them everywhere and wore them daily with jeans, skirts, dresses. They suited whatever I wore. In addition they lasted a long time, years. I probably thrown them in a laundry once or twice when their end was inevitable. A while ago I bought three new pair in various colors, black from Zappos and in grey and grey/beige color from New Zealand. These colors are not made in USA, manufacturing nonsense being the reason. And here in the problem with new shoes. The strip around the opening used to be leather, not it is plastic, so it tears fast, after few wears and rubs the back of my foot nasty. Brand new shoes and with holes in the finish. Shame on Merrell. Another thing is, the black pair made in USA is hard and cuts more at the back into my foot but it did not rip. The grey pair which ripped after few wears rubs too bad to wear it. Had the finish been leather, it would stretch to fit the foot and it would be the great old shoes.

Hate with a passion. I wanted to love these cute Merrells and ordered them with complete faith in the brand (I have a few other styles). So much so I didn't even take them on a test run before wearing them on a trip to the UK. My first day, my heels hurt from all the walking and on one foot, the area under the zipper began to rub. I found myself in a drugstore buying band aids and shock absorbing insoles! In addition the zipper isn't smooth at all. I can't believe my beloved brand let me down, but I really dislike this shoe for my intended purpose: a comfortable and stylish travel shoe. At best it's good for running errands in the suburbs. I hate them so much I'm taking time out of this amazing trip to write this. Perhaps Merrell half-assed this one since it was made 'exclusively for Zappos'. I wish I could give it zero stars for 'comfort'!

These shoes are so great I have two pairs I have one pair for banging around and one that I keep pristine. They look lovely and kind of chic as a slightly above casual look when they're clean...and I wear them constantly with jeans. The tread is nice because it doesn't trap every bit of mess.

I finally found a cute sport shoe that is wide enough! Loved the Privo, but even their wide was to narrow. I find this shoe most comfortable and the zipper easy to open and close. Great for walking or cardio work out. Even at 75 years, they can look classy. Thanks Zappos. Great service to boot!

I love these shoes. I recently had back surgery and am not allowed to bend down so the zipper closure makes putting them on and off esp. easy. But they're totally comfortable. The only exception is I have high arches and needed to get arch supports for them.

The size was just a touch too big, but luckily, like all other Merrills, they allow for the insole to be removed. With the original insoles the shoes have perhaps moderate support. I always replace them with "superfeet" to make sure I have what I need in the way of proper support. And with superfeet that made all the difference, now the shoes fit perfectly. I love the light beige with white jeans, its a great look. And to think I almost didn't order them, because typically it states removable insole, but on the description that was not mentioned. It would be smart of Zappos to add that bit of information.

THEY FIT FINE, ALL AROUND, BUT I ADDED A NEW DR. SCHOLL'S INSERT TO RAISE THE HEELS. ALSO, I TOOK A BLACK SHARPIE AND BLACKED OUT THE WRITING BESIDE THE ZIPPER... BUT THEN I'M 75 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NEVER LIKED WRITING ON MY APPAREL. HAH!

Sadly, I have to give up on Merrell shoes. They used to be my "go to" because of the awesome foot beds/support. I don't know what happened to their brand but the last few pairs I've ordered have been a big disappointment. I've had to return them. I am unwilling to spend premium prices for a shoe that I still have to use an orthotic/insert in. These shoes are very cute but they do not offer the kind of support I am looking for. I even would have overlooked the gaudy "Merrell" logo on the top of the shoe if they were comfortable. These shoes had a lot of strikes against them. Bye Bye Merrell. I don't think I will be ordering your brand again.

I have bought a lot of Merrell Shoes in the past 20 years. Love 'em all. Till now.I ordered 2 pair of Merrell shoes recently and had to return them to Zappos. They just were not comfortable . Ist pair looked so cheap. Also no arch support. Most recent "Barrido" looked super cute but no support. I don't get it. Merrell's had such a good reputation for their reliably comfy and supportive shoes. No longer. I refuse to spend $100 on a pair of shoes and still have to put ortho inserts in them. Sorry Merrell. I am cherishing the shoes of yore that I still wear. Happy memories!

Arrived yesterday morning, tried them on and a perfect fit! I was so excited because I have not been able to get a pair that fit good for the last ten years. Wore my first pair 10-12 years. Yes, a lot of wear but was hard to part with. I have ordered and sent back two pairs trying to feel that glove fit and this one is it. Wore them all day yesterday with nothing but great feeling. I got the black ones .

I bought these shoes for my mother who is 86 years old. She loves them. The fit, the ease of putting them on and taking them off, and the security she feels while walking in them are all hugely beneficial, especially in such a light weight shoe. We're so very pleased with this purchase and grateful to Zappos for making it so easy.

I've been wearing this Merrell shoe for years, this is probably my 5th pair. I'm a tai chi instructor, as well as a chair yoga instructor and this shoe is perfect for balance and is light weight, while giving my flat foot enough arch support that it's comfortable from early morning to my evening classes. I usually have 2 pr going at the same time. Hope it continues to be a good seller so it doesn't go away!

I have a pair of these shoes in a size 9 that I wore last year. I really like the style, although with moderate arch support, I have inserted my own orthotic pad, which makes the shoes more comfortable. I reordered the same shoe this year, also in a size 9, but the shoe is too large. Too long and a bit too wide. I am returning these and have reordered the shoe in a size 8 1/2. I seriously doubt that my foot has shrunk, so the company must be making the shoe larger.

These have changed. The instep isn't as high. They seem to run large.

I bought this style of shoes about 10 years ago and still wear them regularly as they are very comfortable for inside or walking outside. They are my very favorite vacation shoe because they were they stand up to 12 hours of sightseeing, window shopping and museum visiting. People always made comments about how stylish they looked and wanted to know where I got them. As they are now starting to get a little worn, I thought I would never be able to replace them and there they were on the website. The new pair feels exactly like the old pair--no breaking in needed. Love these shoes.

I love this shoe! I don't like the chunky, clunky look of most athletic wear -- these look great with most of the things I wear. This is the 3rd time I have bought these -- great for every day wear and for walks with the dog.

I am a pharmacist and work on my feet all day. These shoes are so comfortable. I didn’t even have to break them in.

These are my absolute favorite go everywhere shoes. My first pair is probably 15 years old and still wearable, so I searched to replace them. Merrell has discontinued the Barrado style, thus Zappos came to the rescue! They fit my size 9.5 feet perfectly and provide just enough support for my extremely high instep! They are very lightweight as well so I can pack them easily in my backpack or carry-on without taking up all the space that a normal tennis shoe would. I have taken this style to Italy and hiked all over France with them. Not only cool looking with jeans or my basic black travel pants, but washable too. I am searching other sites for more---but 9.5 is hard to find.

Wonderful. This is the 2nd pair of these I've purchased. Felt true to size, felt true to width, moderate arch support. I love that they are black and that they have a zipper, so easy to put on and take off.

Fit was good but the right shoe squeaked every step I took. Walked around house in them for 2 days but still squeaks. Returning the shoes n get same shoe. Hope these don’t squeak!

I bought these shoes 8 years ago and have worn them almost every day. Now it is time for a new pair. Same design, same comfort, same style, not as many color choices and had to go up a half size, but it is just as great as the pair I bought 8 years ago.

This was the 4th pair of Merrell Barrados I have owned in my life and this style has remained the same over time. (two in Black and two in Silver grey) In some ways I am quite bored with the style, however it serves it's purpose. I was only able to find this particular style at Zappos, not sure if the company is still making them. They are reliably comfortable from day one and I walk very long distances in them ie generally live in them for months.. I prefer the Merrell slip-ons to all other brands for their fit. Unfortunately they have changed their stylings on some of their zip up slip-ons to be more gym like or 'athletic' and less feminine/urban and stylish such as the civit style. (Still using my two old style civits)

My usual size is a 7. It was a bit large, so I reordered in a 6 1/2, & it's perfect. I have a pair of tan w/ scroll pattern on the side (plz bring back), which are about 4yrs old, & they have traveled many miles. I also put them in the washer, delicate cycle, & they came out almost like new! Easy, never-fail zipper. The 4 star for comfort is because there isn't much arch support. I guess you could add one!
