Love this boot. Very comfy right out of the box. I did have to buy a 1/2 size bigger, and it is perfect. Sometimes B width shoes are too narrow for me, but this fit perfectly. I imagine if you have a narrow foot, you might have problems. Love the square toe -- modern, and gives your toes space to be comfy on long walks. Totally waterproof fabric. Lightweight.

Beyond the fact that I've been looking for these boots for a number of years, the service I was given by Zappos made me a definite devotee. I accidentally ordered the wrong size boot, and when I realized this, I saw that there was only one pair left in my size. I wish I could recall the name of the agent who assisted me...she was wonderful. She sent me the correct size pair before I sent the others back. She made me feel important and trusted. Where does this ever happen?

Very narrow... I usually have no problem with ara shoes, but these boots were so narrow the bones in my toes were crunching. If you have a narrow foot, though, these are beautiful, waterproof boots.

This boot is very comfortable. It's in between casual and dressy. I've been wearing them under jeans and over my skinny cargo pants. I will also wear them with slightly dressier pants. They are that versatile. I haven't worn them in the rain yet, so I can't comment. In a perfect world, I would have liked them half an inch higher.

Great boots! Love the Goretex, the comfort and the wearability of these boots. Have two other pairs with higher heel.

Went through ankle deep water and feet stayed dry. Shoe fits large, I ordered a whole size smaller than my usual size.

Perfect boot cold northeast winters! The "stay dry" Gore-Tex (wear with socks) maintains great warmth and dryness. Wore these to Europe in December which proved perfect for lots of walking . Warm, dry and comfy the whole time!

I am so disappointed!! I have tried so many boots. This boot is everything I wanted - price is good, side zip, Gor-Tex, perfect design, length is good, but this boot definitely runs narrow on me. I am having to return. Does not come in W and 10B squeezes my foot on left and right. SO Sad!

I've had 4 pairs of this boot. They're pretty comfortable initially. There's no padding & you can feel nails poking through in bottom of foot. The goretex always wears out & water comes through eventually. Although they're attractive, it's very difficult to keep clean as the fabric shows water, salt, & snow stains. I also wish the heel was 1" due to longer pants.

I live in a mountain town where only occasionally i need to step out of my trusted Blundstones. I needed a boot dressier but not overly so, just one that didnt look like I came out of the woods. This boot is perfect! Comfortable and will hold up to the elements and perfect for even hoping the train to NYC.

I was looking for a pair of stylish, waterproof boots to wear on my trip to Ireland. I knew to expect rain and a lot of walking. Since I own 2 other pair of ara boots, I was confident of the size to order and these have been perfect from the first day I wore them. Ara boots are an investment, but well worth it. My first pair are still great after 10 years. I would have brought them, except I wanted low heels for walking.

I received these boots today at 3pm. Put them on, and kept them on until 10:15 tonight. They wear like an old friend, like comfy slippers. This never happens for me! I bought them for a trip to Europe and trade shows. They are going to be one of my best boot investments.

GORE-TEX Boot - Great casual boot w/ GORE-TEX without being a "hiking boot" style. Must wear a light weight wool blend sock, but that’s OK, in order to have a little style.

I'm keeping these boots even though they're overpriced, because I need a vegan waterproof boot that will allow me to walk safely on icy sidewalks, and these fit that bill--and after searching for a ridiculously long time, I haven't been able to find anything else. These can be worn over skinny jeans and under trouser-style pants, though I wish the heel were an inch higher and the shaft were a little shorter. I expect to be able to wear them spring, fall, and winter (though they won't provide extra warmth). They're somewhat narrow, which works fine for me, and they offer moderate support. All in all, a win, even though it's a big dent in my budget.

Bought these to replace the exact same boot that I have had for many years. The original boots still look great but the inside sole has just worn down due to years of wear and no longer felt comfortable when worn all day. Deloghted that I could get a replacement. Felt great right out of the box. I am sure they will last for a long time.

Shoes fit and look great. Size bought was 11.5; I usually wear an 11, but sometimes need larger. Love the square toe style. Comfort is good, except I find the ball section of the sole to be somewhat hard (not enough cushioning). Still, will keep them. Great price. Quick confirmation and shipping.

This is a very well made boot, worth every penny, comfortable right out of the box! After several foot surgeries my feet are very picky. This style is a bit narrow for me, so I was happy to see that this comapny now has a wide boot and it is superior! Buy with confidence and lucky for us, Zappos makes that very easy.

Thanks so much to those folks at Zappos! Ten pairs later this is the boot! Worth every penny, the fit is so comforting, the fabric soft and forgiving. Just what I need for my far less than perfect, old and tired feet.

The ideal little boot for 3 out of 4 seasons in the Rocky Mountains. This is the second pair of this style boot I have owned...timeless. Perfect to wear with skinny jeans too!

This is exactly the boot I wanted. I have a pair of ara fabric lace-up boots that must be 15 years old. The soles have been replaced three times, the eyelets have been replaced twice, and now the tongue needs to be replaced, but I can't find a cobbler who will do it. So these boots seemed like a good replacement--they are lightweight, stylish, and waterproof. However, the fit across the instep (and my bunions) is just too tight. A larger size would make them so long I'd trip over them, so I must regretfully return them.

I had high hopes for these babies, since they looked so cute online. In person, their style did not disappoint. But they were a full size too large (I bought them in my regular size, not the 1/2 size larger I always get for athletic shoes and similar boots). Even if they had fit, though, I could feel that the bottom had an odd hump down the middle. Is that supposed to be arch suport? They’re going back.

These boots were not only unattractive, but they were uncomfortable. The right boot had a large bump in the toe box.

Have other Ara shoes that fit much better. This bootie was very tight through the footbed and too loose at the ankle.

These shoes are HUGE on me....I think I'd have to order 1.5 to 2 sizes smaller for these to fit...unfortunately they are not available that small. Too bad because I certainly would have bought them!
