I really liked these shoes at first. Comfortable and no wearing in. I was hesitant also that the shoe was waterproof but they proved to be reliable. However, after about two years of light hikes and outdoor activity the sole completely fell apart.

The pair that I received are nothing more than a torture device. I have no doubt that prolonged wearing of this shoe will result in permanent foot damage. These shoes are so bad that I am putting them in the garbage and not even returning them for a refund.

Well, I found this shoe was one of the best fitting/comfortable shoes I've ever had. I used it as an everyday shoe (not quite daily but almost). However, the soles de-laminated/fell apart within 2 years. Even so, I was considering getting another pair, but I will not now after reading here that many people experienced the same problem with this shoe.

After seeing all of this positive feedback, I must have gotten the one defective pair; but by far the WORST pair I've ever owned. I do golf course work, and the most durable shoes last me up to 2 years TOPS. These shoes literally started to fall apart after 5 months of use... the soles separated from the shoe first, so there goes the quiet shoe. Next, the Goretex did NOT keep my feet dry even in light rain (?)! The breathable XCR GTX in this shoe was non-existent. My feet not only got wet from outside moisture, but they made my feet sweat like nothing else I've ever worn... and in FEBRUARY! I bought a pair of Montrail GTX to replace them and they FAR outperformed these shoes. Do yourself a favor and buy Merrells - never had a problem there, and their XCR GTX actually performs as advertised.

Very sturdy shoes, almost too sturdy. The bummer was that both soles started de-laminating in about 2 years of light use. The tops looked great and there was plenty or tread; they just started to fall apart. Will not buy these again.

Landscaper work wear everyday. Best shoe yet! I use orthodic inserts equals I will keep buying this brand. Excellent. Con: The last lace loop (canvas) seems to be wearing a little, may break.

I have been using Garmont Eclipse III XCRs for over 8 years and find them to be the most comfortable walking shoe around. How disappointed I was when I discovered that my local retailer was no longer carrying them. But to my surprise I found them at Zappos and was delighted. I was also pleased with the speed and efficiency of Zappos' delivery.

I can wear a shoe from 13 to 15 med width to ee, got these in a 14 med and they fit perfect, thinking that this is one of the first times that has ever happened. The shoe overall seems very sturdy and will definitely hold up to the variety of tasks that I will be demanding from them - like getting groceries to the weekend trail hikes and bike rides to the honey do list around the house.

Fits well although had to play with the lacing a bit. Had another pair for a long time and really liked them. Hiked many miles in the desert and Sierras and they never let me down.

This is an amazing shoe and I have gone through 3 pairs. It is a very stable platform with a roomy toe box and snug heal cup.

This is the 4th pair of these shoes that I have purchased. I love the solid support they give you, the next best thing to a hiking boot. I am very hard on them as far as they get wet almost every day and yet my feet stay dry. I've used them for a lot of day hiking and also climbed in them, best shoe I've found yet for good support, water proof and yet not the weight of a boot.

Landscaper: Nothing holds up in the conditions I work in. I average four shoes a year and try to seek out the most durable quality footwear possible. These are average. Comfortable and look decent but just don't hold up to dirt and wear. Shoe laces are weird...I read this via reviews prior and discovered there is truth in weird shoelaces. Double knot only. Sole broke loose on both inside and the outside across the ball of the foot and the tread didn't wear well. On par with any Merrell or North Face. Break in and get 'floppy' like the Merrell's style and performance like North Face.

I've bought several pairs of these shoes for both my husband and my father. They work great as a daily 'work' shoe for someone who has to go back/forth between an office and field environment. The shoes are solid and comfortable. The price reflects the quality, in our experience.
