I am hesitant to purchase shoes without trying them on, however these were exactly as I hoped...fit and looked great.

Most stylish loafers available - This is my second pair of Bass Casell loafers. I love them. They are so comfortable, it like having a broken in pair for the second you first put them on.

I had to return my original order as the shoe was not narrow enough. I wore Bass loafers all though High school and college and then was unable to find Bass. Looking forward to a pair of AA shoes that I will not have off my feet often.

Burgundy brush-off color - Very pleased with shoe. Comfortable and nice color. I have even received compliments on them at work. It was my first Zappos purchase and I would definitely make another purchase.

Classic - True to the words of other reviews, this is a classic look and I followed the advise of getting a half size smaller then normal. I really like this shoe, although it is a bit shinier then I originally thought or looks in the picture. However, I do recommend and Zappos is one of the best sites on the web today.

These shoes are beautifully made, but my instep is too low for this style. The shoes are narrow enough for a AA foot, but the gap between the shoe top and the top of my foot resulted in a half inch gap. The dark burgundy color is really attractive.

Classic style that you can wear with just about everything. Fits a wee bit tight at first (def can't wear socks, even thin ones). I used Peds the first few wears so my feet wouldn't get all sweaty. Glad I didn't buy a wide width or a size up, as some folks indicated. But I have a narrow foot, particularly in the heel. So for me, it was true to size. Nice, durable leather with a comfortable and flexible sole.

Nice shoes - just what you'd expect from Bass. A little tight in the toes, but I usually wear tennis shoes with square toe box. Excellent customer service from Zappos just like always!

I tried a 9 regular width which almost always works for me. It did not, so I returned and went up to a 9 wide. That too was too tight on my heels. I have returned that pair and trying again with a 9½ regular width. These shoes are really cute and versatile, but the sizing is definitely off so keep experimenting. Thank goodness for Zappos' free shipping policy.

The past reviewers were right! Runs small and narrow! I'm normally a 7 Medium but went straight to Wide and tried on a 7 and a 7.5. Keeping the 7.5 Wide - the 7 was actually painful to try on!

These shoes are v cute & smart looking w just a very hint of a sheen to them, giving a classic look. I ordered it in 3 different sizes due to the reviews: one my reg size 9, a 9.5, & 1 10. I ended up keeping the 9 as the 9.5 were just a little too big. I really need a 9.25! So I kept one & am hoping a shoe stretcher will do the trick since they are leather uppers!

Very comfortable, but too small. Bought the Cassell in a 7 and it was too tight. Meanwhile, I also bought the Bass Wayfarers (a very similar style) at the same time and I'm opting to keep the Wayfarers instead of the Cassells. Interestingly enough, the Wayfarers I'm keeping is a 6.5. Despite similar styling, sizing is very different. With all Bass products, it seems you really need to try a specific product to see what size is best for you. I could go up a half size in the Cassells to a 7.5 and I think it will work well because they're so comfortable, but I'm choosing the slightly less cushiony Wayfarers because I think the materials (referring to the sole and heel only) will last longer over time and is therefore a better investment. The Wayfarer has a leather sole and a heel that - with the help of a cobbler - could easily be replaced or fixed multiple times, as I've done with other leather shoes. That might be possible with the Cassell, not sure. Gave the Cassell a 5 in comfort, because in the right size, this would be wonderful walk in all day.

At first I couldn't even get my foot into the shoe, even though I purchased the wide width. I was so mad, I threw them back in the box, intending to return them. Good thing I'm horrible about returns! Last week I "discovered" the shoes and they slipped right on; at first a little snug, but the next time I put them on they were not only broken in, but comfortable. I don't know what happened, but now they are great and one of my classic work staples.

Great shoe and is very comfortable right out of the box. I normally wear a size 7M but ordered a 7 1/2 W based on other reviews. I'm glad I did as the 7M would not have fit.

The shoes are very nice very professional looking. But I am glad I read the reviews. Everyone said to order the wide width and that is what I did. I am still breaking them in the width and I am even thinking of taking them some place to have them stretched. They hurt in the width. I know this is par to the course with good leather shoes that they need a breaking in period, but these shoes are narrow.

First, lets talk about "fast" shipping. Wow, I placed my order Sunday night and received my new shoes Monday afternoon. That was truly fast! Usually i wear 8 sometimes (rarely) 7.5 and my feet are a little bit narrow. I ordered 8 in regular width and the shoes were perfect, with a little room left. However, these shoes are glossy/shiny which usually is a deal breaker. Since they were on sale i am keeping them.

These are super cute on and look great with jeans or slacks, but the fit is off. I had to return for a half size up, and then they still pinch in the toes and rub badly. Not bad enough to return, but are bandaids required until I break them in

These shoes are sharp looking. A bit tight at first I suggest wearing socks the first few times. Very cute with jeans and a tee.

Wowzers! When a lot of others said these ran small - I should've listened. I can't even get the Left on my foot; I usually wear a 7 & 1/2 -- I ordered an 8 but went with the regular width which is truly very narrow. And I don't have wide feet! They are very cute - almost patent leather shiny -- but way too small. I will have to send back. Very classic.

I used to buy these all the time because they came in wide. I have now tried twice and both times the "wide" shoe is not wide - very tight and not comfortable. Very disappointing.

Terrific service from Zappos! Received my shoes within 2 days of ordering it. Love the idea of free shipping. The shoe style is truly a Bass classic. Size feels half-size smaller even when I ordered the wide. I'm normally a 7.5w with Cole Haan but this feels tight. As per Zappos' instructions, will try the shoes before changing it for a different size. Might need to use stockings instead of my regular socks. Can't wear without socks because insole material is uncomfortable.

Nice shoe, a little narrow in the toe box, not like the previous version - which was more rounded in look. Hoping they will give the same service as before.

I loved them. They're so soft it's like not having on a pair of shoes. And yes, I want another pair in black when I place my next order.

This is a classic shoe, so you kind of know what to expect. It is much more narrow than most other shoes I have. I don\\\'t have wide feet, and my toes feel pretty squished. Still love the shoe, brings me back to my high school days.

I think the shoe definitely runs narrower than most. For the first time in my life, I had to order a wide. Which of course, doing an exchange was absolutely no problem at all with Zappos! I know the shoes will stretch since they're leather, but they were just so narrow that I didn't think regular stretching would do. Once I got the wides, they seem perfect. The length was right though. I think they're very comfortable and they look great. Like others have said, they seem to be a little less quality than I remember years ago (the leather seems thinner than I remember), but they're also less expensive too! So I'm happy overall.
