This is a nice style, and they are very comfortable. They seemed to be good boots for walking to the train and then to the office and back. However they are poorly made and within a few weeks the right heel pulled away from the upper. That was very disappointing! I would not recommend these boots for people who plan to use them for walking.

To boot, didn't know they were still around. I bought a similar style to this in NYC back in 1987. Wish they still made the style I have, but the Hawthorne look close, mine just have a buckle across the front, no zip. I still have the boots! And I still wear them all the time. I've done absolutely everything in these fantastic boots. Work, play even fishing and camping trips (well after they had worn in and been abused). To this day, I'll throw them on with a pair of jeans and people say "those are really cool boots, where'd ya get them!" An amazing product that has stood the test of time. An everyday boot that has held up through a tremendous amount of abouse for over 20 years. They are like an old friend. Buy them!

I've had two pair of these boots and while I really like the fit and looks, in both cases the sole has separated from the upper. Seems to be a manufacturing defect with the adhesive.

First time dress boot owner - Having shopped around from time to time and never settling on a dress/casual boot I decided to try these. The break in time was 0. They were comfortable and really fit well. They're a beautifully made and comfortable boot. Glad I bought them, and yes I would recommend them to anyone seeking comfortable footwear with style in mind.

Very stylish looking shoes and the studded soles work well in my rainy climate. As recommended, I ordered a half size smaller than my normal size and find that the width is a bit more snug than I'd like for comfort. They seem to be loosening up some with wear though.

The heel completely deteriorates within the first 2 months and shockingly poor quality heel for the price.

I love this boot. When I was looking at To Boot New York boots, I actually ordered the Heron model, but when it arrived the toe was a little too pointy for my likes. (Despite the photos/video on Zappos, I didn't really notice it until I tried on an actual pair.) So I returned the Heron for the Hawthorne, and I'm quite happy. One thing I liked about the Heron, though, was the all-leather sole, whereas the Hawthorne has a rubber sole. I normally wear a 9.5 - 10, so I went down to a 9 with the To Boot, and this is the right fit. Actually, it's just a smidge too large, but I know that going down to a 8.5 would be too small. This is a very good boot to wear with jeans and other jean-like pants.

These were the most comfortable shoes/boots that I have ever worn. I loved to wear them daily. Unfortunately, the upper leather pulled away from the entire sole within a few months. I had it reglued once. Then I had to throw them away after the top pulled away a second time. There is some type of defect with the glue. I would buy them again in a second, if they were actually stitched and not glued.

I switched to Frye. Much more durable.

I have 13.5 to 14 size feet, normal width, but high arches which make finding good fitting boot tough. Initially I tried a 14, but could not easily get one of my feet into the boot because of a high arch, but I was able to purchase a 15 which fit perfectly. Feels like a perfect fit. Very comfortable.

Nice looking dress boots - first pair that I've purchased and very pleased. Agree with another reviewer, there was no break in time required. As the Item Information states, these boots run large. I generally wear 7.5 EE. When wide sizes are not available, I usually go up to an 8. Purchased these boots in 7 and they fit wonderfully! I've not had an issue with product quality. A bit pricey, but a great product. I'd consider purchasing these again.

These boots run 1 size large. Therefore, choose 1 full size smaller than your normal shoe size. Other than that great style, very soft leather, and good comfort for a dress boot. These shoes will last a long time in that the styling is "timeless" and always relevant.

These boots are great! I bought several less expensive ones and none of them cut if for various reasons. After one year of frequent use, these are still the most comfortable, stylish (get compliments on them a lot), keep me warm, keep me dry (water resistant and I sprayed them as well), boots that I own. I plan to keep these for several years and when the sole needs work, I will send them to To Boot to keep me going. These are one pair of the three To Boots I currently have and wear frequently. Great quality, style, and you get what you pay for.

Very nice boot but extremely difficult to get on. I read lots of reviews stating to get smaller size and that did not work for me. Very narrow toe box.

I have now tried this boot on 3 times on my carpeted floor and am going to return them. The outside edge of the insole feels like it is much higher than the center, causing a very uncomfortable pressure on the outside edges of my foot. In time they might "wear in" but I don't want to take the chance of that not happening nor do I want to go through the discomfort to get to that stage.

Just got these boots and have only tried them in the house, just in case I need to send them back. I'm not wild about the extra length in the toe, which I should have realized before ordering, but there is not really information on this design feature in any of the literature on the boot. My big issue after 10 minutes on my home carpet is that the inner sole appears to be higher on the inner and outer edges than the middle, putting extra pressure on those portions of the foot. I'll try them one more time and post again if I have any differences.

These shoes did not fit. They are very snug fit across top and ankle. Even if they had fit, the shoes were scuffed like someone had worn them. That is disappointing because they were good looking boots.

So all the reviews say these run big. Not the one I ordered. I am an 11.5 and ordered an 11 based on the reviews that all say to order a full size smaller. I can't get these on my feet. I tried for 10 minutes and cannot get them on.

I have not received mine yet but will take them to shoe shop and have them examined before I decide to keep them or send them back for a refund to much money to spend on boots of that price and name brand for them to fall apart.
