These sneakers are awesome! I recently joined a gym and was using the treadmill wearing an older pair of Nikes. I have bad knees and couldn't use any incline without pain and my feet would hurt after my workout. I got these sneakers and noticed a HUGH difference right away! I can set the treadmill incline on 15 and walk faster and after an hour--no pain at all! They look sharp too and everyone asks where I got them. Zappos service was the best as always! ZAPPOS RULES!!

My husband has a wider foot but not wide enough for a wide width shoe. these are perfect! very comfortable right out of the box...Avia is the best! he put them right on, got on the treadmill, and walked 3 miles...he's a happy camper. there's no need spend mega-bucks on athletic shoes...just buy Avias!

My fist running shoe. I simply went on the cheap and was pleasantly surprised on how well such a cheaper running shoe feels in comparison to bulky basketball shoes.
Feels like I should have spent much more money for this comfort.

This is most likely the most popular style that Avia has ever produced. It is available in several different color combinations, etc. The reason I believe is because it is a sturdy, comfortable, no frills performer at a low price. In fact, this shoe even outperforms many of its much higher-priced counterparts. Zappos, as always, provides the best service.

Been a distance runner for 13 years now. Injuries and burnout lowered my weekly mileage down from 50-60+ to maybe 15-20. am a loyal Saucony Grid Stabil customer when doing high mileage, but right now, I don't need that shoe (or the bite in my budget). After reading reviews here, bit the bullet and purchased these for about half the price of Stabils. They have worked out very well. Got me through a half marathon and a few training runs leading up to the half. I will stock up. Oh, I'm a heavy runner, flat footed and wear orthotics, running mostly on concrete/pavement/dog poop. Normally wear 11.5, got this in a 12.

I need a good running shoe that can be used for both working out and running. Avia is one of the few brands that I can still trust for athletic footwear since Nike has become so crappy. I have had tons of Avia athletic shoes and all have proven to be among the best shoes on the market today. I do a lot of running and other forms of training, and the A5020M from Avia has everything I need. The stability is far beyond average and the cushioning is just right. One of the great things about Avia is that you never have to worry about them wearing out. They are very well made and can last several years even if you are hard on shoes. I have run a few trails in these shoes and the soles can handle the abrasion. They also do a good job of supporting the ankles. These are very athletic looking and the red ones look great with a red Under Armour shirt and Adidas shorts. These seem to be some of the best shoes for working out and I would recommend them to everyone.

Almost two years ago, I bought three pairs of these shoes for each of my three teenage boys. They typically wear Nikes, but these Avias looked nice and were on sale. These shoes have been comfortable since the day they arrived and after almost two years, all three pairs are still in good condition. This is very impressive since the Nikes typically only last about 4 months! I am never wasting my money on Nike shoes again when Avias that cost about the same last so much longer. I am predicting that their current pairs will last another two years or so based on their current state. All three of my sons are happy with these shoes. They are very nice looking too. I will not hesitate to purchase these again.

I have been ordering these shoes for three years straight, since I started college, and I am about to order my fourth pair. Just make sure that you realize that these run about a half-size too small, though I have gotten used to the sizing. If I had to describe these shoes in one word, I would say that they are very dependable. They have never let me down. Before making the switch to Avia, I had been experiencing strange foot pains. These shoes have fixed all my problems and feel great. They never actually wear out. I only buy new ones when my old ones are dirty. These shoes are good for someone who is on the go. They are easy to slip into when rushing out the door and are very comfortable for running or walking. I have brought them to the gym on several occasions and found them to be very supportive. I will continue to purchase these shoes until they are discontinued. The wide width feels like a true wide width which is perfect for me. Order a half size up from what you wear in Nike or New Balance.

I bought these shoes for my 19 year old son last month and he is very happy with them. He uses these for everything including walking, running, working out and even playing football. He needs a tough shoe as he is very hard on them. He has a closet full of trashed running shoes since he goes through them so quickly. Avia is a good brand, and these must be around his tenth pair. They last a really long time and feel great, he said. They are also very stable, making them useful for many sports including football. He is constantly getting his shoes muddy, but they clean rather easily so it is not a problem. These weigh a little more than most running shoes, but that is what makes them so durable. I would recommend these to someone looking for a good multi-purpose athletic shoe.

I bought this pair of Avia shoes 3 years ago and I can easily say that these are an extremely reliable pair of shoes. I am very hard on my running shoes and most brands other than Avia hardly last for 3 months! These Avias have withstood 3 years of hard use and are still in great shape except for the fact that they are dirty. They can be used for everything from running, to yard work, to intense workouts. I love working out in these shoes, especially on the leg press since the midsole feels firm and solid. In all the time that I have owned these shoes, they have never given me a single problem. They are the most comfortable shoes I could ask for and are definitely worth the 46 dollars since they last over 3 years. I am wondering if I will ever have to replace these. Besides the dirt, they look and feel brand new. I have ran so many miles in these shoes on pavement and off-road and there is no wear on the soles whatsoever and they still feel really solid, just like new. I have never reviewed a pair of shoes before, but felt that I needed to since these have served me reliably for such a long time. If these shoes ever do wear out, I will replace them with the same pair for sure. They do seem to run a half-size small so order larger.

I was experiencing pain while running long distnaces with a high end pair of Asics running shoes and I was recommended to try Avia by my brother. I immediately noticed an amazing difference when I took these Avias for a run on a harsh gravel trail that my Asics clearly could not handle. The Avia A5020 felt excellent on my feet and had absolutely no problem running uphill on gravel. When I got home, I threw away the Asics. Ever since, I have been running painless and free in these Avia shoes! I cannot believe that these shoes have worked better than another pair that costs over $5O more. I dumped all the Nikes and Asics in my closet and plan on replacing them all with Avias. After wear-testing these shoes for a month, I have found that these shoes provide great support in both the arch and heel. They remain stable on just about any terrain. I cannot comment on durability yet since I have only owned them for a month, but from what I\'ve seen, they seem pretty tough. I can tell by the other reviews that I am not the only one who has discovered these and been impressed.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I don’t use them for running, but they are my everyday shoes and they’re fantastic. I had wide feet and a deep arch and these Avias fit well on both fronts. They’re very sturdy (I still have my first pair for working in the yard) and have outlasted many other brands, and I’m pretty hard on my shoes.

I have been buying the same pair of shoes, the Avia 5020 for over 5 years. These are just about the most durable sneakers that I have ever worn. This is what keeps me coming back to this model shoe. They are very comfortable too and my feet never hurt while running. The sizing and feeling of Avia shoes is very similar to that of Nike, so if you like to run in Nike, Avia will be easy to get used to.

I could not be happier with the Avia 5020. I bought these running shoes for my son who is used to wearing skate shoes. After trying on these Avias, he immediately noticed how much more supportive they are and he really enjoys wearing them. In fact, ever since I bought them for him, he has been taking runs in the afternoon around the neighborhood. He commented on how secure his feet feel in these shoes when he runs in them. He is now a much more athletic person thanks to these shoes and I am very happy. I bought myself the 5850 by Avia and those are very good too. Upon reqest from my son, I purchased another pair of 5020s for when his current pair wears out. I forgot to mention how durable these shoes are. It has been several months and they appear new except for a few scuff marks. I recommend buying a half-size larger than your true size. Nike to Avia sizing is exactly the same though.

My son has had tons shoes running 3 times the cost of these hes say are not as comfortable. He loves these and wear them daily.

My shoes arrived less than 24 hours from the time I clicked the order button. Scary. I didn\'t even request any express delivery. \r\n\r\nIt\'s the third pair I have ordered.

I have wide feet and a high in-step, so finding shoes that fit has always been a problem. If you don't happen to like the one pair of "Elmer Fudd" shoes the store carries, tough luck. My daughter encouraged me to try Zappos, and as skeptical as I was, placed an order for these running shoes. They arrived on time, looked better in the box than on-line and what do you know...they fit, felt comfortable. I love them and I'm a believer. Thanks Zappos!

This is my second pair of this shoe. Both times it has been very comfortable right out of the box, better than some shoes I've worn that cost twice as much. Due to a nerve problem in one toe I need to wear an extra wide shoe. These are as wide as stated and have a high toe box making them a good choice for those in need of a wide shoe. They are comfortable to walk in, reasonably cool in warmer weather, and wear well. Arch support is ok and I prefer to use a different insert than the one that comes with the shoe. I think they look better in reality than they do in the photo. I would buy these again.

I use inserts and they work well with these shoes. The shoes are light weight and comfortable. They do squeak on hard surfaces when wet.

Two years ago, I bought these for my son to use them to play baseball in a month-long indoor clinic where cleats were not allowed. Previously, the coach had told him that his Pumas were not suitable for the sport and that he needed to bring in proper footwear with more support for running. I found the Avia 5020 shich seemed to fit the coach's description of the shoe he needed. He came into the clinic two days later when the shoes had arrived and he loved them. He swears that they are the best shoes he has ever owned. During a session in the batting cage, the coach as usual analyzed his swing and made note of how he liked the way the shoes supported him while swinging. At the end of the day, the coach had decided to tell all the parents to buy the Avia 5020 for use at the clinic. After that, every kid in the clinic wore a pair of these and they all seemed happy in them. My son then told me that these were the only sneakers he would ever wear, and he is wearing the same model to this day. These shoes are awesome and I would highly recommend them. I even wear a similar pair if Avias now and they are so comfortable.

I really took advantage of the wide range of sizes and widths that the Avia 5020 comes in. I wear a size 13 Extra Wide and it is extremely difficult to find running shoes that can accommodate my shoe size and weight while still remaining comfortable and well made. The Avia 5020 is loaded with support. I have been told by a running specialist that I require a bit of extra stability which this shoe offers. They provide a full range of motion and have great ankle support so my feet feel great after running. I have always preferred Avias due to their use of a cantilever heel which compresses and absorbs shock at initial impact. This is also important because I tend to strike the ground hard with my heel and the shoes lessen the stress on my knees and ankles. All in all the Avia 5020 is an excellent choice for someone looking for a sturdy, well made, comfortable shoe to run in.

I bought these shoes for my husband for my husband for Christmas. I was really worried, because his foot is very wide, and he usually buys a half size larger, in order to get some extra width. Since these were 4E. I ordered his "real" size. He loves them, and they are wide enough for him, so we are really pleased. Also, they arrived very quickly, in time for Christmas, with free shipping!

The Avia 5020 is a great overall running shoe. I have loved the design of all the Avia shoes I have ever owned. They provide a comfortable, supportive and stable fit and feel great on my daily run. Being someone who is somewhat heavy and tough on their athletic shoes, durability is key and these are very durable. Other athletic shoes I have tried by other brands have only lasted about three months and the sole wears out., while Avias have been consistantly more durable and have lasted more than a year. I like the fact that when I\'m in a rush to get out and I don\'t have time to tie and untie they are easy to get on and if I crush the back of the shoe, it\'s okay because it won\'t damage the structure. Overall I am very impressed by the quality and durability of this pair of shoes and would highly recommend it.

I have severe pronation, so I need a shoe that has good stability and motion control. I didn't want to spend $100 for shoes this time of year, so I thought I would try the A502s. I've had them for about a month. Orthotics fit well and the shoe has good traction on wet pavement. Good comfort and stability for a shoe in this price range!
