A truly classic loafer. I wore my last pair until the soles literally fell off. Like any all-leather shoe, this one is stiff and will require diligent breaking-in; but, once broken, it will fit like a glove. I've marked these 5 stars for comfort, but keep in mind I have a narrow foot. These are quite narrow - almost uncomfortably so. But, since I've been through the break-in process before, I'm confident that they'll be perfect for my foot, shortly. If you've a regular-width foot (or wider), I'd suggest going with the men's version.

Zappos is THE BEST! Whatever my shoe needs they fill it promptly with a smile. This shoe is exactly what I wore in H.S. in the late 50's and has stayed in style ever since. You can't go wrong wrong with a Weejun,pencil skirt, cute top and neat-o jacket even if you're 71 years old! I love looking fun and TRY my hardest! Zappos helps!!!!! I ordered these the first time without reading the the note about ordering a 1/2 size smaller- need to order down as they suggest. The burgundy are like the old cordovan. Good-o!

What's not to love about classic cordovan Weejuns?! The style is a classic, and the burgundy leather is absolutely gorgeous. I'm not sure what weird sizing world Bass is living in though. I'm a true 7.5, but heeding the advice of the other reviewers, bought the 7 and the shoes fit perfectly in length. The width on the other hand - holy moly. I don't usually have a problem with medium widths, but I could barely get my bare foot in when I first tried them on! Keep in mind, however, that they do stretch in time, and I helped them along by wearing two pairs of slightly damp socks for a few hours and by using the hairdryer stretching method. It worked! Now they're snug, but comfortable. I've only worn them outside once and the leather is still extremely stiff and would definitely cut up my heel if I tried to go barefoot in them now - socks are a necessity.

This is a super cute shoe. But, for me, the advice to order a half-size smaller really didn't work out. The shoe is simply too small, but instead of just returning it (maybe because they were sold out of my regular size?) I tried wearing them, stretching them, all to no avail. They seriously hurt my feet and I have pretty much no hope of ever being able to make them fit. A fairly expensive disappointment, unfortunately.

I love the look of these and got nostalgic for a pair after practically living in them in college. The look and color of the shoe is beautiful (I bought Karicole). However, I wear a size 6 99.9% of the time and after reading the reviews I bought a size 5.5. They're still too big. I'm really disappointed in how Bass is sizing these. They're absurdly off in terms of coming close to being accurate. My foot is neither wide nor narrow and these do run a little narrow. I did have breaking in issues, although not hugely so (tightness but no blisters). The biggest problem has been wearing socks thick enough to keep the shoe on my foot. I'm overall very disappointed and because I wore them out of the house, I'm stuck with them.

I love these shoes. I took the reviewers' advice and ordered a 1/2 size down and it's still slightly big, but I don't find the shoe uncomfortable at all! It is a beautiful classic shoe and for me was comfortable out of the box. True, I have a narrow foot.

Exactly what I wanted - a cute loafer with a low heel. I ordered my normal size, but returned for a 1/2 size smaller. Much better fit. Thanks Zappos for your speedy delivery and great support staff!

Not to reiterate what everyone has said, but PLEASE do yourself a favor and break these in extensively before you try to wear them. I bought them for a job interview, and even after some wear around the house they gave me the gnarliest blisters I have ever had in my life. They looked sharp, but ouch! Also, I bought the Cassell model at the same time and these look much less casual, so they were better for what I needed.

Great classic shoe. I loved them in college and love them again. They are a little tight in the toe box, but are fine after a few wearings. I would order your regular size.

This shoe is a classic. Shoe size is definitely 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size as advised by customer service rep; perfect fit by his advice. My foot is narrow so not much breaking in required for me. Shipping time was excellent; received shoes in 1 week and I live in Japan.

Too much room - I usually wear 10 and never waiver but even the 9.5 in these were too long and wide. I used to wear bass tie shoes a lot many years ago. No way to adjust this style. I've never worn penny loafers. Pretty color.

Everything about these shoes looked great, but they did not fit me like the old penny loafer. They came up too high on back of my heel. Therefore, I have never worn them. Threw out the box so couldn't return.

Many reviewers (as well as the Zappos description) shared how this shoe comes a half-size larger than normal. I, however, found this not to be the case. I am a true 6.5 and could hardly stuff my feet into the shoes! I sized up a half size to a 7. The shoes themselves look exactly like the product shot. After I break them in a little, I think they will become comfortable.

Either this shoe is mis-marked or it is very generous cut. This shoe is about 1 1/2 sizes too big for my size 10 foot. It fits more like a 10 mens shoe!

Watch out! Bass shoes are crazy stiff! Kind of uncomfortable. Also, I was hoping the shoe would look kind of funky/men's style/retro, but it ended up just looking dowdy.

Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever put on my feet. Almost rubbed a blister on my heel as I was walking around in the bedroom to see if they fit. Had to take them off. Beautiful looking, but so uncomfortable.

I was very disappointed at how narrow these shoes are. I am a true 8.5M and I could barely get this show on my foot. The length felt very short as well. The shoes look beautiful, but I am returning them.

These shoes are achingly beautiful right out of the box. I say achingly because when I tried to put the shoe on - it ached terribly. Actually, it just plain hurt. I normally wear an 8.5 and followed the recommendation to order one half size smaller. That was a mistake for me. Also, this shoe is incredibly narrow. I don’t think I have Hobbit-like feet, but the shoes were extremely narrow. If you normally wear an M (normal width), you might want to wait a few weeks until Bass releases some new styles in wider widths. I returned the beautiful Bass Wayfarers in shiny Burgundy for Sebago Plaza in Cordo. Both are handsewns, so wish me luck tomorrow when the Sebagos arrive!

Beautiful color, but not a beautiful fit. I purchased this shoe based upon reviews that it was a half size larger. However for me, it was too short in length as well as too narrow in width.

I am so glad that I listened to the other reviewers and ordered half a size smaller than my usual 8. I got the 7½ and they fit perfectly with plenty of wiggle room. The insole is cushioned and feels really lovely. They seem to be constructed to last a lifetime. They are stiff in some spots so I will probably wear them around the house until they soften up like some suggested. I have never owned penny loafers before and was searching for a great looking pair at an affordable price and these are it. I love them. Two thumbs up.

Quintessential loafer that complements business casual and weekend clothing styles, Bass loafers are a great shoe for the price point. Help the leather retain its shape by inserting a shoe tree after each wearing. This shoe might be a difficult fit for wide feet, or for those with a high instep. These classic shoes are a wonderful addition to my shoe closet. They are very comfortable, and I get many compliments on them. I ordered a half size smaller due to the reviews I read, however, I then had to return them. I called Zappos and explained and the very next day I had another pair in the correct size! My advice is to order your true size. Yes they will relax and the leather will expand a bit, but not enough to warrant a different size. Zappos customer service was incredible! They were prompt, polite, made sure I was satisfied.
