I like Keen's for the wide toe box, light weight and support. The Summit County is no exception. They are toasty warm. My only real gripe is that Keen and most other manufacturers don't make half sizes for 12 and above. That forces those of us larger than 12 to order at least a full size larger. Keen's own website says their shoes run small. So, why call a 10.5 an 11 and why no half sizes for those of us in the larger sizes? I take one star off for the size issue.

I love everything about these boots except that the tongue will not stay in place at the top of the boot. No matter how I lace them up it bunches up and hurts my shin. I really should send them back.

I bought a pair last winter, used them for snowmobiling, dog walking, kick sledding, shoveling, bonfires, etc. They worked very well for me. They are warm, light, and turned out to be my favored winter footwear. Downside: Do not expect them to last for more than 1 -2 years, I have probably put three winters worth of abuse on mine as we have lots of winter in Alaska. The nylon web that holds the laces have broken and some of the hard nylon hooks have also broken off. I will most likely replace them with exactly the same boot.

I have bought 4 pair of these boots over the last couple years. They feel and fit nicely. I've liked the style and look. 3 of the 4 pair I have bought have had the heel come loose from the boot well before they are worn out. I've never gotten more then a year of wear out of any of them. I like them, but not durable enough for a working man. More of a light duty boot. They are warm and waterproof.

I am a die hard Keen shoe wearer. Consistently an 8.5. These boots in the 8.5 were roomier. Which was actually welcome in a winter snow boot. Keeps good circulation and allows for a thicker pair of socks. Wider and a little longer than normal Keen 8.5's. These boots look great. Somewhat chunky but that is cool in the upper midwest with wool slacks. They are perfect for being outside standing for long hours for naturalist type activities. They are warm, but the extra room allows space for toe warmers, which for my toes, is a must. I would not use these for fast snow shoeing or hiking. Too bulky. As other have pointed out, the tongue cushion is a little bit too plush, making lacing up a challenge. Overall, great for what they are for.

Always wear a 10.5 and none available at end of season so I tried an 11. Just little too big. Very comfortable and well made. Would have kept boot if had my size.

This is indeed a nice boot. I should preface this review by stating that I'm cross-shopping the Columbia Bugaboot II XTM and that I've worn them only about an hour in the house. For me, the Keen's are very comfortable. I like that there is plenty of space in the toe box so that you can freely wiggle your toes, even with heavy wool socks. By comparison, the Columbia is snug and your toes have to compress the padding to wiggle to the same degree. I like the look of this Keen and I think the splash of color is a nice touch. That said, it sure looks like a workboot. There are a few nits I don't like about it. Because the tongue is not gusseted, I think you'll only get about 5.5" of waterproof depth. The speed lace hooks are fairly closed such that you must keep the laces perfectly tight to the boot for them to hooks. The Columbia has more opened hooks and you don't have to pay such close attention to get them laced. The pull tabs front and back are so small that you can't really put a finger through. Feels fairly useless. The laces are borderline ridiculously long. I'd have to double bow knot so they don't get wet. The suede-like material used for uppers is nice to the touch but also scuffs easily and I wonder how it would react with salt. Maybe that's answered in other reviews. Those nits aside, it's a very nice, comfortable, seemingly warm (not cold enough to test yet) boot that I may still get.

What a great snow boot! Very versatile. I can leave the top unlaced but tied off for a quick on/off to take out the trash or check the BBQ in the snow. Or lace'm up and go snowshoeing for the day. Very comfortable and most important for me WARM!

Best boots I have ever owned. I have owned many pairs of snowmobile specific boots over the years and these are better. I am happier about my purchase each time I put them on.

This is my 5th pair of these boots and they are my all time favorites. Short break-in time, and form to your feet well.Very warm, comfortable and stylish. The only down fall is the soles are a softer rubber material. I work on pavement all day and the soles last about a year. Excellent motorcycle boot with great support and warmth.

Very well constructed and comfortable. I have moderately wide feet and they fit without having to get a larger size.

No performance info yet... No snow yet!Beware of sizing. Long time Keen wearer. Have two other pair of Keen boots size 9.5. Two pairs of Keen shoes: size 9. Took an 8.5 for fit for this boot.

These are great boots. They are very comfortable. Before purchasing these I tried several other brands of medium width winter boots. They were all too narrow for my feet. The Keen Summit fits great and I even have room for thick socks if needed.

I thought these felt a bit large. Also I found them too high on the ankle. And heavy. I have no doubt if I was going to be in serious snow country these would fit the bill. I returned them.

These are great looking boots that seem durable. They are comfortable to walk in and with a pair of thicker socks your feet will stay warm. I wear a size 10½ 2E and the size 11 are perfect. I have had other Keen products and they do not disappoint. Zappos' customer service is unlike any other. I originally ordered a 10½ which was too small and by the same day I sent those back Zappos sent the new ones overnight. I love this company!

I needed to replace an old pair of snow boots and was worried because I have a bunion on my left foot. These boots for very well and are extremely comfortable. I haven't worn them very long but they needed break in time. I have another pair of Keen and they were the same way.

If you need the warmest boot out there, this is it. Toe box has extra thermal regulation for extra toe comfort and the waterproof materials will keep your feet dry. Stay warm and dry.

Though the top of the boot seems high enough to keep out the snow and water the tongue is open down very low (makes the boot easy to put on and take off - a good thing) so wet can get in from the front. The back of the boot top is lower than the front so wet can get in from the back.
I wear a size 8.5-9 in most shoes; I needed a size 10 in these.

Bought size 13 M, I called Keen Customer Service before ordering and was told they fit the same as the Targhee. Not true, very wide and the top of the boot has too much padding to be comfortable. These boots run WIDE, and are not very comfortable. Sending them back.

The length of this boot was about right. However, there was way too much room in the heel. I would also have liked a mid-tall boot which Keen does not apparently offer. These boots can also benefit from a little bit more forward lean so that I'm not constantly pressing against the tongues.

Styling is snazzy, sizing is accurate. A little wider than usual, which is actually nice. No arch support. COLD. I have normal low-top trail shoes that are warmer than these (and I know because I've been wearing them up until these arrived). First of all, they are falsely advertised. Description reports 450g in toes and 350g elsewhere. Inside boot, they are clearly labeled 400g (only). Secondly, I think the trademark Keen toe of thick rubber (although stylish) actually conducts the heat away from your toes and the cold sinks in FAST. The 400g insulation in this area is ridiculously insufficient for actual cold use. My ankles were warm, but my toes were starting to freeze within 10 minutes (4 degreesF). My normal everyday shoes lasted me over an hour with no problems in the same conditions. If you just want stylish high-top shoes with winter tread to tromp around in--great. If you actually need warm shoes, don't bother with these.

These boots are really comfortable and have great arch support. They aren't too stiff and have great mobility. Unfortunately they are not totally waterproof and are not as warm as they claim. I used these last weekend for three days in the backcountry snowshoeing and the boots were pretty soaked by the end of each day. Also my toes got cold, not unbearably but noticeable. I have been using the North Face GTX for the last three seasons and switched to the Keens because of the comfort. With the North Face boots my toes never got cold and only after the boot had been used for a few seasons did my feet start getting wet. It's disappointing because these are very comfortable, but I cannot trust them to keep me warm and dry on extended backcountry outings.
