These are awesome boots. I am buying my second pair. My last pair has just started wearing down tread. I wear them 365 days a year. They are extremely comfortable providing a lot of support for my weak ankles. I would recommend these boots to anyone who is into quality shoes. They are definitely worth the price! As far as arch support, I cannot really say. I wear orthodics so I have no problem.

First off, I'd like to say that while I didn't keep these boots I felt compelled to write a quick review on them. I needed a replacement for a pair of Vasques that I had for over 10 years and that I used to death, and decided to go with these after reading high reviews. Right out of the box I loved them. Great look and high quality feel. The lacing system is pulleys, which ensure a nice snug fit evenly distributed across your foot. The boot is stiff, seemed really durable, and propels you ask you walk. Perfect for hiking and jagged bouldering. They would have been great but the arch just didn't fit my foot right, a little high on the outer edges...enough that a new sole wouldn't have helped. Sad that they didn't fit me, but I think most would be really happy with this boot.

Love 'em so far. No break in needed. Took off on a backpack to the Olympic NP coast; scrambling over headlands, boulder hopping, and some cross country through muck and over heavy downfall. Protected my ankles great and not one hot spot. Love the lacing pullies! So easy to get in and out. Good bye ol' Reichles!

Extremely comfortable with good support in general, arch and ankle in particular. Excellent all-day every-day field boots (used for survey work in the Mojave desert). Highly recommended.

These are amazing boots -- and so different from other boots I've worn. They are my daily footwear on the mountain ranch where I live and work. As another reviewer said, these boots are like wearing slippers -- I agree. Yet they are slippers that provide excellent ankle support. I used to wear La Sportiva mountaineering/backpacking boots. Oh, but at the end of the day, I could not wait to get those La Sportivas off my aching feet! That's not the case with the Asolo Power Matic 200GV boots, which I wear with Superfeet insoles. I now enjoy all day comfort instead. There was no breaking time; these boots were comfortable from the first moment I put them on. Although the soles on both the La Sportiva and the Asolo are Vibram brand soles, there is a huge difference between them. The soles on my Asolo boots are springier, softer, and better gripping than the Vibram soles on my La Sportiva boots, which are like having a pair of thick, slick boards strapped to my feet -- making the La Sportivas extremely dangerous on any ice. This winter I'll find out how the Asolos handle ice. (But it has to be better. They already do so much better as I climb steel ladders and walk on the tops of steel tanks.) I also like the "pulley" lacing system. It seems to allow the laces to adjust to your foot as you walk. As a result, the boot feels less restrictive. It's like the boot adjusts to fit my foot, instead of my foot having to tolerate the boot.

Incredible boots! I have owned many, many hiking boots while guiding up in Canada. I wish that these boots would have been available then. These are absolutely the most comfortable "backpacking" boots I have ever owned. They are perfect for any kind of hiking you do. I have always purchased boots (for the last 30 years!) with Vibram soles as well...the best. I highly recommend this boot for all of your hiking, day or backpacking.

Love love love these heavy duty backpackers! These are very well made, I went up a size to add superfeet insoles and heavy socks. They may feel heavy at first but oddly your feet will not get tired. I carry heavy film equipment and cameras and need a steady ankle and sure footing-this boot hits it out of the ballpark!

Asolos are my go to high ankle support all day hiker/work boot. There is really no break in period. I wear these with the green smart feet insoles and they are together the one two knock out punch. My feet are in heaven?? Add support/compression socks and my feet and legs can go all day...all week!

The best hiking boot, period. Right out of the box, no break-in period (for me), great support, great warmth, great design, not too heavy, very streamline. I had previously owned Vasque but they were clunky and the leather upper didn't hold up past three years (I expect more durability when buying boots in this price range). The pulley system on these Asolos is great too! Very stable when walking, either in the woods, through snow, or on uneven rocky surfaces. Thanks to the other reviewers for your input...it helped me buy these boots. Love them.

This is one of two pairs of Asolos that I own. I love them both. These felt like melted butter the minute I put them on. My only complaint is that they are graphite (not black, so black polish does not help) and mainly that the toe is easily scraped. But I wear them all the time. Literally, every day for the last 10 days. Love them. If they would put the rubber toe cap on these like they do some of the others, they could possibly be the most perfect hiking/work boots ever. I have only had them a year and I do not do any heavy hiking, just messing around the deer lease and local hiking, but they have been great so far and are, by far, my favorites.

I've had these boots for over 2 months now and I wear them every day for work. But until this past weekend I hadn't taken them on a long hike, so I was waiting to write my review. For everyday wear - I really like them. They're comfortable, sturdy, and supportive without being too hot for a summer boot. And I was really looking for a boot that would last longer than a year before getting sloppy, unlike my last Scarpas and the Keens I had before that - so far so good (but too early to say for sure). However, after 2 months of breaking them in and then 12 miles of trail hiking this past weekend - I got a blister on one of my heels. I think the blister may have been avoided had I stopped more often and retightened my laces, but I'm still a little disappointed.

I can't believe these didn't work for me! Almost everyone I know loves these and so do most of the reviewers, however they didn't work for me. I have a regular size (almost narrow) foot and these gave me painful blisters on my heels within 30 minutes of hiking up hill. They are also a little heavy but I don't think that was the issue, I think the fit just wasn't right for me. I ordered size 8 and the fit was true to size.
