Extraordinary! These shoes feel better than any other pair I have ever worn. The arch support is amazing. It feels better than barefoot. I can stand for many, many hours in these shoes and my feet still feel as good as they did first thing in the morning. Now: Kumfs (are you listening?) Please make these in something besides black! I bought these for choir, but other than that, I never wear black, and I'm telling the truth that being able to get these in brown (any brown!) or navy would make my life a whole lot easier.

These shoes are beautiful and very comfortable. I have feet that are hard to fit. These come with both a standard insert and an additional insert to suit your comfort level.

These run a little narrower in the toe box, compared to many brands. The rest of the shoe seems a little wider than the toe box. I discovered that, to get the full benefit of the arch support, the strap and sides could not be loose. The arch support seems best when I adjust the strap snugly. These shoes seemed stiff when I put them on for the first time, but after 15-20 minutes, the leather somehow molded to fit better, and felt softer. Prettier than they look in the main photo. Once on the feet, they look more dressy and feminine than expected - less chunky, and not a childish looking style. The heel appears a little higher than in the photo (foreshortened?) and the strap is angled. The unusual strap, along with the slightly tapered heel, add a touch of sophistication. These could be worn to semi-formal events, even formal, but they also look okay with business attire. There are prettier shoes out there for formal events, but not with this level of stability and arch support, which I need. I wear a W-width in some brands of shoes, and can wear medium-width in brands that run wide (for example Dansko Golden Gate sandals), but in these shoes I needed an Extra Wide. The insole is removable, which allows these to be worn with custom orthotic inserts. The leather portions of the upper seemed to be lined in real leather. These shoes cost more than average shoes, but seem significantly better constructed than average. I wish these were available in other classic colors, such as navy blue, brown, dark taupe or tan.

I typically wear an 8W and prefer the Euro fit or Keen's for the wider toe box. The wide shoe store measured me as 38.5WW for this brand (didn't have this in stock though). Removable footbed insert in shoe gives a higher arch - I use 3/4 Superfeet insert. Without any insert I'd say not much arch support. Nice square base on heel so no wobbling, slipping or missing a stair tread. With Trouser socks, my heel has some movement with either footbed in and I could add a heel gripper pad in future but the Velcro closure keeps shoe snug on foot. Comfy and nice in appearance on foot.

I have owned these shoes over a year and can say these are great heels for my problem feet. They keep my foot stable (I overpronate) and provide enough arch support to get me through at least part of a day on my feet. I have yet to find a heel that is better. In an ideal world they would have some more arch and a slightly smaller heel enclosure. Oh, another minus is the velcro closure. If you cross your legs, you take the chance of it snagging your hose, augh. I still would recommend the shoes despite these minor flaws. Zappos, however, with their customer service, is flawless. Thanks!

I have flat feet and overpronate. Have small bunions and started to develop hammer toes due to wearing slides and thongs, which I no longer do. These shoes have superb support for a heel. Very comfortable shoe. Would go well with both slacks or dresses for work. I am returning because they are not dressy enough for evening attire.

I was desperately searching for a more stylish shoe while coping with the start of bunions (guess it happens with age). I bought these in a bigger size and width than my pre-bunion size. They are extremely comfortable and can be worn with dressier clothing. Don't look as clunky as the shoes I am having to wear most of the time these days.

Honestly, I thought there was no hope for my wide, high arch foot until I found these shoes. They come with a removable foot bed so you can slip your own orthotic into them but, the foot bed that comes in the shoe has both an arch support and a metatarsal support. The top of the heel is padded for extra comfort and the strap on the top (velcro closure) will keep your shoe in place if your orthotic pushes your foot up a little too much. I love these Kumfs so much I bought a second pair of them in another style. They are a bit old fashioned looking but their comfort outweighs this issue for me.

These shoes are really comfortable. They have a classic look that have garnered tons of compliments. I\'ve been able to use them with simple work outfits, and with fancier outfits for a night out on the town. My only criticism is that the size runs about a half size larger than you expect.

I bought these shoes in July 2008 and wore them to work almost every day until a couple months ago. They started to become uncomfortable after the arch support wore out and sort of collapsed. But I got over a year of heavy use out of them, and loved them! I usually hate shoe shopping because most stores don\'t carry size 10.5 W. Thank you Zappos for making it so easy!

I am so glad that people took the time to review this shoe. I had not been able to wear anything with a heel for several years because of foot problems. It isn’t the prettiest shoe in the world, BUT I can wear it!!! It is comfortable to be on my feet. I wear prescribed orthotics, but I can go without them in this shoe. It doesn’t hurt the large toe joint like all the others. It also doesn’t hurt my back. The heel seems to be set on the shoe in a way that it feels sturdy and safe. I would definitely recommend it.

As a diabetic I have to be extremely careful about what shoes I wear and I find it difficult to find shoes that are wide enough. This model of Kumfs shoes is extremely comfortable and wide enough to accommodate the width of my foot. Even with the heel I can wear it for hours without discomfort. It also offers a wider heel for better balance. Even with the roomy width and wider heel the shoe is very attractive to the eye. I highly recommend it as well as other models Kumfs offer.

I love this shoe! I have 9 EE feet, and Kumfs Babette is the most comfortable pump style I have in my closet. I can wear this shoe with jeans, slacks, and skirts. It has a funky, slightly retro look to me, but I think that it would look good with many styles. I have a varied work day, but I have worn my Babettes all day when I have been on my feet on cement and hard surfaces. At the end of the day, my feet feel good- not pinched or squeezed in any way. I especially love the rubberized sole which gives my good traction and stability. Thanks to Zappos easy return policy, I felt O.K. about trying this more expensive shoe. I only wish that they wold also carry the navy blue Babette that Kumfs produces.

Very comfortable and secure shoes. Fit my custom orthotics nicely and have plenty of toe space. Even better - they don’t aggravate my bunions! One of the better looking shoes for orthotics - can wear with suit-slacks or skirt.

I love these shoes. I have been in 4 car accidents and have fibromyalgia. Due to this, I have not worn a pair of high heels in years. I really needed a pair of nice heels that would go with a dress. My chiropractor suggested these because; I can put my orthotics into them. I have been wearing them without pain. I am happy to be able to wear heels again. Thanks Zappos.

Orthotic Friendly and not Ugly!
When my orthopedist suggested that I get custom made orthotics to stop the pain I was feeling in my arches, I felt as though he was sentencing me to a lifetime of ugly shoes. I searched store after store, trying to find shoes that would accommodate the insertion of custom orthotics, and quickly learned that shoes often come in two, mutually exclusive categories: a) orthotic friendly and b) professional and attractive. But for these shoes, which are incredibly comfortable and not at all grandmother-like, I would have needed to remain in pain at work, because lace-up loafers were not going to cut it. I heart Kumfs. I've been wearing them every day and they are really, very comfortable, and don't feel weird with the orthotic in them. They have a really thick, removable insole, so when you insert the orthodic, it doesn't feel like you are having to squeeze your feet into shoes that are suddenly too small.

The most comfortable Kumfs orthotic insert shoes. I have tried 50 other pairs of the shoes in the last 15 years, I use Kumfs orthotic insert shoes and they are very comfortable. I wear Kumfs Babette everyday at work for 9 hours a day and have painless feet/knees and back.

A REAL SHOE -
When I took the Kumfs out of the box I immediately dubbed them as being "a pair of real shoes", meaning, it is obvious that this shoe is intended to last for a very long time (the designer who made this shoe was not playing around). Everything about it says quality, sturdy and secure. They are beautifully and professionally crafted, very true to size, they also fit very comfortably. I wear size 11W and like the majority of women with large feet, you don't want a shoe that visually enhances the size of your feet. This is a lot of shoe. I was so amazed at how big they looked that I held them against each pair of dress shoes that I have, even one pair of size 12M and these shoes were so much larger and longer than all of the other shoes by far. Unfortunately, they also looked huge on my already big feet. I have taken these shoes out of the box and tried them on as I looked in the mirror to see how they looked on me several times because I would really like to keep the shoe but I also want to be happy with my decision. As I said before, these shoes are beautiful but remind me of Frankenstein's enormous shoes each time I try them on. I think that I am trying to convince myself to keep them because they are "Quality" shoes but I'm still not sure.

Pricey, but worth it!
I have problematic feet, flat feet, and severe over pronation - and wear custom orthotics. I was referred to Zappos by a friend and wound up choosing this shoe. I needed a dressy shoe that would get me through a wedding reception and dancing! Not only did this shoe feel great, it went well with my dark green chiffon dress. I wore a black stocking and I didn't feel underdressed in this shoe. I danced the entire night in this shoe and found it to be very comfortable. I highly recommend it. It is streamlined and not boxy.

It's love -
I'm a fashionable 25-year-old with wide feet and ankles that overpronate (roll inward). Therefore I need extreme arch support and this usually comes in the form of a clunky shoe with no heel. I have adorable stylish work outfits, but no shoes to go with them to complete the look. Finally I found a shoe that is decent looking and provides truly awesome arch support. Coming from me, that means a lot because I have tried EVERYTHING. These days I only buy Danskos (only the clogs have great arch support though), Finn Comforts (most comfortable shoes on earth), and Kumfs (most styles are great, but not all). The leather of this shoe is so, so soft right out of the box. The footbed feels great and has a wonderfully high arch to keep me from overpronating. My fourth toe does feel a little cramped in the toe box, but the leather is so soft that I think it will stretch. Beware, this shoe runs narrow. I usually wear an 8 or 8.5 wide (C/D) in dress shoes, so I initially ordered the 38.5 W. It was a little too short and the width felt like a normal width shoe. I exchanged it for a 38.5 extra wide and the width is good, but I actually have a little extra room in length. Also, now that I have the extra wide, my heel slips out because the heel part is too wide. They just feel too good to send back and I know I won't find anything else this comfortable. I think I can easily put some extra padding in the heel so that my heel doesn't slip. Overall, I love them. I wish they were a little cuter and had a round toe box, but I can't have it all.

Great arch support. Runs narrow. Stable heel and last.
The BEST arch support in a dress shoe that I have ever seen. These run narrow. I normally wear a D-width (wide) sized shoe; although with some brands (e.g. Dansko), a medium is OK. With these shoes, a D-width (wide) was tight; I had to get an EE-width (Extra Wide) instead. When I first tried these on, the shoes felt stiff initially. After a few minutes, the leather seemed to soften and mold to my feet. Meanwhile, the raised arch area of the insole supported and compensated for my very flat feet, preventing the excessive pronation (feet and ankles rotating inward) that I usually have. The strap, along with the contoured footbed, kept my feet from sliding forward and mashing my toes against the front end of the shoes, avoiding a typical problem with heels. Normally I cannot tolerate high heel shoes for multiple reasons. This shoe has a moderate, not so high heel - about 2.25 (i.e. 2 1/4) inches. In the photo, they look a bit lower. The shoes are prettier than they appear in the photo and the style reminds me of sophisticated shoes from the 1920s or 1940s. These are flattering, even with my thick ankles. They make my legs look longer. They’re dressy enough for the office or for any formal occasion; I would not wear them with jeans. The heel and the diagonal Y-shape of the strap is flattering and make the shoes look different than the type of basic Mary Jane style that a schoolgirl might wear. The Y-shape of the strap keeps the side of the shoe snug against the arch area when the strap is adjusted and fastened. Also, I think the Y-shape probably makes the strap stronger, less likely to break off. I wish the price were lower. However, these are very comfortable and healthy. If there were other colors (navy, brown, medium-dark taupe), I would buy them, too.

Great shoes! After having 2 bunion surgeries, my feet are very sensitive to shoes with heels. So when I heard about this shoe I was concerned that they may be too high. With all the positive reviews and Zappos no-risk policy and free shipping, I was persuaded to give them a try. Wow! These are the greatest shoes! Excellent arch support. I can wear them at work all day without pain. Since they are a pump I wear them with dresses at work. I do prefer a strapless pump overall, but the strap is a small compromise for such great shoes. I just wish I could get them in other colors besides black so I can wear more clothes with them.

Great Shoes -
These shoes are perfect if you have to wear the ortho inserts and need to wear business attire to work. They’re comfortable and look great with all my work clothes. I can wear my inserts everyday so it’s so much easier to walk and no one knows I'm wearing the orthopedic shoes. I did buy half a size smaller than I usually wear. I just wish they made them in other colors.
