I own a pair of these (same size) from several years ago. This new boot is not the same. Each step I take, the boot forces me into an extreme pronation and the top of the boot shifts laterally, to press against the inside of my lower leg. As I inspect the boots, it appears that the uppers are glued onto the soles crooked. They appear to lean in (pronate). Possibly defective? Very disappointed in this boot. I have loved my old pair. They have been the best boots I ever owned.

I got these about a year ago. They fit perfectly right out of the box and have held up well in rain and snow. My only complaint is that they scuff up really badly and since it’s Gortex you are not supposed to apply polish. They look awful and the treads are wearing off too. I use these daily in the cold season for hiking and dog walking. I will order another pair and hope they last more than a year. As for sizing, I wear a 9 in boots and sneakers and these are true to size.

I have loved these boots- perfect fit with wide toe box that can be hard to find. They don’t last, however, and I’ve gone through 3 of them, this last pair I’m retiring after less than a year. The leather cracks and gore-tex lining fails resulting in really wet feet. I probably should have gone down to two stars for overall quality. I’m retired and living in a place with endless hiking opportunities so the boots are worn daily. When even the sole wore out after a year I decided to spend the extra bucks and switch to HOKA ONE ONE, a brand my daughter in Seattle recommended. So far they’re awesome and should last a few years. The Chocorua boot is excellent if you have low mileage and/or plan to replace them yearly.

I've purchased these boot from Zappos for the last 10+ years. Fit, width and size are all accurate. Sadly I have to say the last pair I purchased has worn out long before either of the previous 2 pair, respectively 5 years & 8 year old boots. A hole appeared in the leather and continued to increase in size, The seam split open and the leather appears to be peeling.

I recently purchased this boot to add a second pair of the exact model and size purchased several years ago. Unfortunately, Timberland shaved off 1/8" on the entire width of the boot. My foot has not changed, but the new boot does not fit. Apparently, a size 8M is no longer a size 8M. Probable cost savings for Timberland resulted in a lost customer.

Boots' sole detached after only owning them for a year, and wearing them for 6 months/year (not all day, nor everyday). Although Timberland claims to make their products with the best quality materials and craftsmanship, these boots were not. I contacted Timberland about their warranty and they would not honor it. Very disappointed with the product and Timberland brand.

Timberland boots dont even last a month and the soles already started ripping off. I contacted timberland who said thats normal wear and tear of the product. " The average person can expect roughly 6-12 months of use out of the footwear if used for their intended purpose. We do have customers that wear through boots much quicker and some, longer"

After reading the reviews, I was sure that these boots were for me. But I was wrong. I work in an outdoor setting where I am standing/moving all day and after wearing them for about two months, I feel like my arches are falling. While they were great because they felt like they didn't need to be broken in, the toe box is really wide, so the front half of my foot slides around even when I wear thicker socks. Likewise, I can't get them to tie tight enough to prevent my heel from sliding around. The shoe is the correct size (a half size smaller and my toes would be crunched up), so my heel doesn't slip around, my entire foot just slides around. I think I'm going back to the Timberland Pro.

I purchased a set of these boots almost exactly a year ago, they were very comfortable, and best of all the liner in the boot worked. My feet never, never, got wet. I wear my boots to work outdoors every day. Some people buy these things for fashion or whatever, but I search for good boots to keep my feet dry. I have purchased Keen, Vasque, Merrells, you name it. I thought I found the best boot. I have wide feet and I think I tear the liner out in those brands that don't offer EE. I was shocked when I put the new boots on. When I picked them up I thought they looked smaller, and when I put them on they were. They were much narrower, I even compared the soles to each other and the actual soles were about 1/4" narrower. I took my insole out of my old pair, and put in the new, hoping it would help, but my toe smashed into the toe of the boot. I can't even wear these to hope that they would stretch out. They hurt. From the most comfortable fit to boots that don't fit at all in one year. Maybe just a mistake, but very disappointed. I may try another set to see if it was just a mis-sized boot.

My only & last pair of Timberlands are 20 years old. These seemed 1/2 size too short. There was no support, especially in the ball of the foot. Thanks Zappos for the quick delivery!

These boots stabilize my ankle, are comfortable, high quality, great looking and are an affordable price. This is why they are my first choice for boots.

This is my third pair of these Timberland boots. I wear them for day hiking and also for snowshoeing in winter. They are a wonderful basic hiking boot.

These boots are the best footwear I've ever owned. I could sleep in them. I've hiked, snowshoed, golfed, did long walks, walked through mud, puddles..they are just great.

I have very bad feet and these are the first pair of boots that are comfortable right away. Plenty of room for the toes which is very important to me.

This was the first hiking boot I ever bought, after going to see the movie "Wild" in theaters with my mom as a teen and being inspired by the main character's timberland boots she hikes the PCT in. I went to my local Timberland store with my heart set on her (arguably cuter, but objectively less sensible) exact style of boots. Luckily, the worker talked me into the Chocorua's instead somehow, and I never looked back. 10 years later I still wear these almost every day, I have backpacked multiple countries, countless hours standing/working, any time I know I will be on my feet for a long time these are the boots I reach for. They have sustained many scuffs and campfire burns due to my own negligence but have yet to fail me. I already know whenever it's finally time to hang them up I won't think twice about buying the exact same ones again. Thx timberland < 3

I am female but wear these boots in men’s because I need wide. My old pair failed and got wet after a good 10 years of use. No one had my size in men’s so I took a chance and ordered a half size up in women’s. They were way too narrow. Back they go. I live in a rainforest and cannot go without rain boots at this time of year so ordered another Timberland style in men’s and am crossing my fingers.

I stand on concrete floors 8+ hours/day. I've been wearing Timberland Chocuras for the past several years. Supportive, comfortable and durable. I wouldn't buy anything else.

I purchased this boot in 1999! It has come time to purchase a new pair as the boot is separating from the sole. I hope the quality of my new pair matches the boot I purchased 24 years ago.

Excellent hiking boots. I was able to hike 10 miles and there was no fatigue in my feet. My feet stayed dry and warm while it was raining. I would definitely recommend a pair to anyone I know who in need of hiking boots. #sweepstakes

I need sturdy, long lasting, durable boots that keep my ankles safe, remain comfortable regardless of terrain, last all day, and weather any storm until I spit-shine them again--Timberland.

I have been purchasing this same boot for at least 15 years. Sometimes hard to find my size. Love the boot. I live in a rural area where boot support and comfort are a must. An everyday wear. I have at least 3 pairs of old ones I rotate out depending on what I am doing. Hope they never stop making them.

Awesome boots for archaeologists who survey and excavate or any other people with careers that constantly take them off normal hiking trails. I have had two pairs in 10 years and they have held up wonderfully. I have also excavated hundreds of holes with them and they only just started wearing out after three years of heavy use. They could be more waterproof, but I could have also treated them more frequently with the waterproofing spray. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a normal hiking boot as well, much of what I do is walking through the woods and they are great for that.

The best hiking boots I have ever owned. After wearing mine a few times on practice hikes in N. C,, I took these babies for the ultimate field test on Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. They were comfortable for 8 hours +, they held up to the mud, gravel and rocks, the crazy weather and everything that amazing mountain threw at us. I will buy a new pair when I go back to tackle it again. Toes got a little frosty at the summit, so a pair of liners with two wools the next time. Loved the super-lightweight, but rugged soles. I can't praise these boots enough. My husband donated his pair to the porters, but I loved mine so much I couldn't bear to part with them. Thanks for making such an amazing product.

I love these boots. I had two pairs in the span of three years. Wore them almost every single day and they were easily the most comfortable shoes I owned. They also withstood the elements like a champ

I have actually owned these boots for quite some time but this week was my first time truly putting them through the ringer. I am IN LOVE! I wore them throughout unseasonably rainy weather in Yosemite. My feet remained dry and comfortable despite the rain, mud and missteps when crossing water!
