Birkies - I have worn this shoe almost exclusively for several years as it relieves pain in my arch and my heel and gives my ankles stability. They are comfortable and long-lasting.

So comfortable! It took about a week or so to break these in, but now they are perfect. My knees hurt a lot less now that I wear these as my "default shoe." I think it is because of the arch support. Regular width definitely requires narrow width in Birks. What a relief to find these!

Worth the wait - My husband desperately needed to replace his Birkenstocks. Because he needed a narrow width, and also wanted smooth leather, there was a bit of a wait until the right size/width/leather/color was available from Zappos. But when the Birks were finally available, they were worth the wait for the narrow width -- happy husband = happy household!

I bought these sandals for travel and they fit beautifully right out of the box. However, even the narrow size is much too wide for my medium foot. After walking around the house, they started to feel a bit loose, so I tightened them up to the last hole in each buckle. Even so, the shoes continued to slip, and one even slipped off completely as I was going down a step. Definitely not safe for me. They are so cute and comfy, though. Wish they weren’t so wide! Will be returning.

Since Birkenstock has gone to 'unisex' sizing, don't go by the chart. I had to order 3 different times to find my size. I had this same shoe 15yrs. ago and now had to order 3 sizes smaller due to the unisex sizing. Love the extra high arch. Too bad Birkenstock has discontinued all styles but this one in high arch. Only sandal I can wear, since I normally wear custom orthotics for my arch.

I agree with most of the reviewers of these shoes, overall. Their excellent arch support is helping my foot problems. They're my first Birkenstocks (at age 70+!), but won't be my last!

I have ordered Birkenstocks from Zappos several times and sent them back because they were huge. So the light bulb finally went off yesterday and I realized I had to order a smaller size. So I ordered the 35 regular, which is not my size and hasn't been since junior high; I've been a six for years. However, I have a bunion the size of Texas on my right foot and have recently sized up to a 6.5. In any case, Birks must run big. These are plenty long enough, but as a previous reviewer stated, there's no way anyone has these buckled on the first hole. I have both straps on the last hole and I"m pretty sure I'll have to eventually add another hole or two. The thing is, I hate the way they look on my feet; they look almost as wide as they do long, though my daughter keeps reassuring me they look cute. Maybe they do. I'll give them a try, they are, after all, super comfy.

I have struggled with plantar fasciitis in both feet for years. I had surgery on my right foot, which helped greatly. I still need to wear prescription orthotics (~$300) for both feet though. These Birkenstocks replicate the support of my prescription orthotics for less than half the price. That said, I generally just wear them around the house as they are not as comfortable as tennis shoes with orthotics. They are great to slip on and really do provide excellent arch support. I wish that Birkenstock made other items with this high arch support.

I have had plantar fasciitis. I was told that Birkenstocks would help. I am pleased with the way they feel; however, I have a very narrow foot and the narrow was too wide. My husband had to punch more holes to make them comfortable on my foot. I am wearing them and they are beginning to mold to my foot and I am very happy.

The arch on these shoes is much higher than the regular Birkenstocks. I got it for plantar fasciitis, and I really like the high arch. Even though I got a narrow, the shoe could still be a bit tighter in width, but I\'ll probably just make another hole in the strap one of these days. Just what I wanted/needed. Wish they had other styles.

This has helped with heel spurs. I would like the high arch sandal to come in a more attractive color. Also, I would like it to be offered in leather, the suede is limp and more difficult to slip on.

They stretch to fit but GREAT arch support - I have plantar fasciitis and needed some serious arch support. I bought the size 40 (normally wear a 9) and they were too loose so I switched for a 39. After wearing them for 2 weeks with socks since it was winter they stretched on the top...I would highly recommend a 38 if you wear a 9. But as far as the PF goes these are a GREAT alternate shoe to a cushioned one like my Asics sneakers and Rx Crocs.

Too bad high arch had so few styles - The high arch support is excellent. Soft leather feels nice on barefoot. My complaint is for each sandal I must bend down and hold top up while inserting foot--it’s not a simple step-in process.

Superior arch support, but blister problems - Since I retired three months ago, I've been trying to get back in shape and I'm mowing a 3-acre yard about every 5-6 days. Foot problems - ouch. I realized it was my left arch and other shoes (Clark) and sandals (Reef) have not helped and since I have a high arch anyway, I ordered these. These are my first Birkenstocks. I wore them mowing on the first day - blisters. Big painful blisters… but then I read the warning to break them in 15-20 minutes/day. It's been about a month now and I still get blisters. The arch support is like a rock - not sure if that's good or bad. I normally wear a 4E shoe and the standard width Birkie is plenty wide. Last week I wore them to a Cubs game - had to walk 1.5 miles each way - more big blisters (on toes, on heels). That said, in all honesty, I wear them every day now. They support my arch like they were carved from wood specifically for my foot. They aren't the comfort sandal I'd expected though.

Used to wear New Balance, but their fit/qualtiy has fallen off.

Arizona High Arch - Great comfort only problem is that the straps are too soft to stay erect so shoes are not easy to slip on. You need to use hands to hold strap in place to get sandal on. Am going to return and try for one with a strap which stays up so that shoes easily slips on my feet.

I agree with other poster, I did not receive "High Arch", just the typical Arizona. I did some research and the High Arch were discontinued a few years back. Zappos needs to remove this description, because this is not what you will receive. That being said, I did decide to keep them. I was surprised to find they look better than I thought and I can wear them on casual days to work.

I have a very wide foot, but the sandal was too loose when the straps were on the smallest setting. It seemed that they were missing the next size hole.

I have worn many pairs of Birkenstock Arizona over at least 20 years. This is the first time a size 41 Narrow was not the correct size. The high arch pair was about 1/2 to 3/4 inch longer in the footbed than the standard Arizona. Hence, if you want to try the High Arch be aware that you will need to order a smaller size. Finally, I was not impressed with the arch support and have returned to the original, soft footbed Arizona, which frankly, was always pretty good for me.

When they say "High Arch" that is what they mean. I don't have box so I cant return but I won't wear these very often.

I suffer from PF and high arches, but boy are the arches in these sandals high! Make sure you like a very high arch support before ordering. I don't know if I am just not someone who can wear Birks, but my toes hit the end when I walk and they are too big. Maybe that's why they hit?

The shoes would have been perfect. I am about between a 39 and 40 in Birkenstock. I am a size 9 and 9 1/2 with a B/C width. I ordered 39 Narrow and these fit perfect. They came in an old box, old paper and were buckled on the tightest hole. After unbuckling them, I notice the suede was dirty. The buckles were even a little old. These were a return. They should have been sold at a discount. My first time shopping at Zappos. I was so looking forward to these shoes. I immediately returned them
