Great boot - The look is great. I have the brown version, and the weathering looks natural. Those with the black ones said they appeared more silver than they expected, but the brown looks exactly like the picture. The outer dimensions are smaller than I imagined, it's not a big clompy boot. If you wear with long pants it looks like a tight leather shoe. Soles are comfy, and very flexible, but too thin for my taste. I have pretty sensitive feet, so I put insoles in almost all my shoes. The leather is very supple and stretches to fit my feet well, I'm a little wide. After only the second wearing, it's broken in significantly. You'd probably do well to go half or a full size larger than your usual shoe, it's a snug fit.

These shoes rule! Honestly, I think I would have felt alright paying about $300 dollars for these shoes. They are beautiful, and even when they start getting a little bit scuffed, it doesn't look out of place. They are comfortable, stylish, and easy to put on... really worth it.

Unique and Comfy Boot - Believe me, I searched high and low for a similar style when these were out of stock (which was a while) and there isn't much that didn't cost well over $300. These garner regular attention while not being over the top. Hopefully Type Z can keep up production in the future. As always, Zappos customer service is second to none. After making every experience I've had with them right, they will get my business because even if they aren't the cheapest, they are by far the best value.

Very nice for the $$ Very nice boot. I strayed away from the black because most reviews here said they look more silver. I was a little worried the brown would be different than pictured. Once they showed up they were very close to the pictured color. Maybe a little lighter. Super soft and comfortable. I wear a 10.5 normally but went with a 10 since there are no half sizes and they fit just fine.

I love this boots - Although the boots look more silvery than I expected, I still love it. It has a distress look and reminds me of the boot house. It’s very comfortable. Fast shipment. I wish it came with extra dark shoe laces.

Type Z are for woman, too!! I bought these for my daughter's birthday-she has not taken them off since she got them. They look cool-they are super comfortable and that fact that they zip up is such a bonus. She put an insert in for warmth as it is winter here in Iowa. Zappos is the best-we love it!!!

Felt true to size, but the sole of this boot is very thin. It’s not uncomfortable, but it feels more like a light shoe than a boot. It’s a nice style, but I was hoping for something a little more for the winter. I would classify it more as a summer boot, if there’s such a thing.

Comfortable. "Black" is not so black. Very pleased with this boot. They look good and feel good. But be aware that the "black" version of this isn't so black. I think they were going for a very old faded black leather look, but its so "faded" it could almost looks like a brown/bronze color in certain lighting.

A great looking boot. A very distinct style. I do admit I wasn\'t impressed with the quality of the leather. They are clearly not up to par with Italian made Type Zs, of which I own several. Also, the color looks so artificial. It is more like a bronze, not antique brown. I\'ve tried them on, but I haven\'t worn them. I still don\'t know whether to return them or keep them.

This product is of very poor quality and made of poor materials. The pull tab on the back of the boot tore as I was trying them on and with it ripped portion of the interior liner. I was very disappointed and returned them for a store credit.

I got these boots in brown, and have had them for about a year now. Ordered them about a half size bigger and put in a comfort insole, absolutely fantastic because these are already comfortable, and with the insole they are fantastic. I can wear them all day, every day without a problem. I get compliments on these boots every time I wear them, they are a big hit, multiple people have asked who makes them so they can go buy a pair. The leather is kind of thin, and not rigid like you might expect from a more substantial boot. But these are not $350 Cole Haan boots. I like these because they are reasonably priced, the distressing is cool, and you don't have to worry about messing them up because if you scratch them or get 'em dirty it just adds to the weathering and looks better. Go buy these!

Great boot. Lightweight and good looking. Already getting compliments. Unlike many other users, the size was perfect for me. I wear size 10 and ordered size 10; then I added my own cushion-y insoles to soften the walk and also I like the look of having the laces loose instead of pulled super tight. Fits perfect.

I have owned these for over two years now! I love them. They are by fair my favorite shoes in the closet. Even though I am a woman and I am wearing a man's shoe, I seriously get compliments every single day I wear them by men and women. Best shoe purchase I have ever made. Comfortable, light, affordable, long lasting, and super stylish! Please don't ever stop making them.

This is my first pair of boots, and after wearing them for a week I couldn't be happier with them. They felt broken in after one day out in them. The material is supple and non-restrictive. I normally wear a size 10, and I bought them in a 10. They fit perfectly at first, but I will say after breaking in they do stretch out a tiny bit, so if you are an in between size I'd say go for the smaller one. I like the room, I simply wear thick socks and everything fits in cozy. I will say, like other reviews, that I'm not sure how long these things will last. Some boots are built for day to day wear to last years. I'd give these a year of daily wear. That's still pretty good, and they are so comfortable and stylish that I would buy another pair if these wore out. No shoe is perfect, but these are the closest it gets for me!

Awesome boot, but picture did not represent color well - These boots are just about perfect. Great style, great price, already broken in and feel better than any other boot I've had on. The BIG problem is that my boots arrived looking more silver then black! I sadly sent them back to Zappos, if only they looked as black as the boot in the picture.

COOLEST EVER! Same story! Looked forever for this type of boot. Found them and they were on my feet less than 24 hours later! So FAST! With an insole, they fit perfect, but some may think of ordering a size smaller as they seemed to run a little on the larger side of my size (42). I have ordered another pair, but size 41 this time. I love them! Thanks Zappos!!!

Great Boot! I absolutely love these boots. They are comfortable, stylish and exactly what I was looking for.

PERFECT!!! I purchased these boots after months of searching for this style. I ordered them on Saturday night and received them Monday morning. They are exactly what I was looking for. The leather is so soft and has that worn/broken in look. They are not stiff at all. Actually they feel more like a sneaker. I highly recommend them.

Nice old school look - A little flat in the arch, but very roomy for wide feet or orthotics AND wide feet.

Oliver Twist - These boots came with leather so soft that there was no break-in period. They seem to be made very well. I love the liner! These have an old fashion chimney-sweep type look to them while still remaining modern. I love them!

Great fit - Not your typical boot. No break in needed. Very comfortable right out of the box. Not a shoe for a banker, but who cares.

I bought a pair of these 1 1/2 years ago. I like the look, but these are cheaply made boots. The decorative studs popped off within one week and one of the cheaply made zippers began to jam in about 6 months (because I have skinny ankles). The soles are completely worn down. Still, a great deal and I'm planning on buying another pair in the near future.

The Timmy by Type Z fits comfortably. It has modest arch support. The heel is not 1 in. as stated in the video, so they're a little more flat than I expected. The look is very cool. The toe may look a bit boring, without a toe cap or design, but the antiquing in the color makes up for it. The buckle, and studs around the heel add a nice bit of style. I've worn these to work (office) and out n' about. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
