I work for a agricultural water district that has a 1 megawatt solar facility, the surface is gravel and I spend many hours maintaining this facility. I wore these boots the entire day, right out of the box, seemed a little tight across the top of the foot but not uncomfortable. the thick soles protected the bottom of my feet, with my other boots I could feel every rock. These boots are worth the money.

This sleek boot provides comfort, safety, and support throughout the day as i perform various task. I do a lot of walking, bending, stooping, cutting and welding metals, and air brake system repair, and hub brake replacement on heavy equipment. Because of the rough nature and working conditions of my job, i have to replace every 6 months. I wish Timberland would regularly keep them in stock. It's really hard to locate my size.

This is the first pair of Timberland Pros I got. I was amazed how comfortable and well protected my feet were. I now have 6 pairs of Timberland Pros and I will not buy any other brand. Well worth every penny.

I am wearing the pair I got about two months ago, and preparing to order another. Best boots ever. I've owned several pair of the 8 inch Boondocks, love them too, but these gravel pit... They're a cut above anything... I need a pair for when I'm not at work though lol... All i wear is Timberland boots... And I'll tell you like I tell everybody, the day I put Timberland boots on, my back problems went away... There's no going back from that...

I usually never write reviews about ANY product but these boots are special! I work in a parts factory and am required to stand , bend , lift 10-12 hours a day. This is by far the most comfortable Workboots I've ever encountered. I've had them all , Carhartt, doc martens , my last pair were timberland pros with the external meta tarsal guard, a quality boot and very well made and comfortable as well but , even those couldn't compare to these! I got them because their 10 inches and I wanted that high ankle support. Boy did timberland deliver on this one! I walk them to work , work all day long 10-12 hours and they're as comfortable as my Air Jordan's!!! I often wear them when I'm not even working !the internal met. Guard provides excellent support and protection and unless you touch it you'd never even know it's there! I haven't experienced any leakage or problems with the waterproofing... and I often walk thru mud , muck and puddles just getting to work. This boot is the total package does every thing timberland designed them to and looks great doing it. These are what I'll buy the next time I need reliable work boots . There worth every penny of the retail price and I'll gladly pay it again when the time comes!

I use these boots in the oil field, very comfortable even, even at the end of a 20 hour shift. These boots are insulated for warmth so not ideal for hot summer days.

I use these boots almost for every thing that I can. The best and most comfortable footwear I have ever worn. I admit that I don't really put them up to what they were designed for, but I used to work as a cashier and had to stand in place for long periods of time. I am currently an employee at a winery where weddings are scheduled. I have worj these boots for three 12 hour weddings, each one happening a day after the other. The only thing that saved my feet and everything else from the serious ache and pain of those weddings can cause we're these boots. I do recommend purchasing insoles to increase the effects of the comfort from these boots, but I will swear by how efficient these boots are! I have been working as a wedding staff for 3 years and these boots have been with me every step of this job! I will buy another pair, soon!

This is one of the best workboots I have ever owned, I have been through close to a dozen high quality >$200 boots. THis one is extremely comfortable, even after standing 10+ hours. my only complaint is they are heavy, which takes time to get uses to, and its a little difficult to squat in/ pick something up from the ground, since it doesn't allow too much flexibility in the ankle.

My only boots I wear all the time. They're great boots for motorcycling, hiking and walking. They don't get hot in the summer and keep my feet warm in the winter. I wear them when I'm riding in the rain and no wet feet. The first pair I've had for 4 years and the second pair for 2 years. They are a little on the heavy side but get used to the weight. I'm sure I'll buy another pair. You can wear them 24/7, I certainly do except showering and changing clothes. We'll worth they're money.

9 years ago, I had purchased the Timberland Pro 9" I believe...and THAT was a great boot. It had a 1-day break-in period for my feet; and what I absolutely loved about it was the fold-over at the top of the boot that allowed you to use all 8 fingers to dig in, get a solid purchase, and pull it on. It was these 2 features that had me returning to the Timberland Pro Series. I was set on repeating my experience with the same Pro 9" until I saw this Gravel Pit Beast. The big drawback was that instead of the fold-over at the top, it only had the single loop for assisting the pull on (yes - I LOVED using both hands because I've had these loops break off or had the dog chew them off). After much hemhawing (because the dog's older now...and toothless) I ordered them. First off - speedy service. I had them within the week. I'm an ex-power linerman turned Safety, so although I don't put these things through the true ringer as far as field testing, I have to walk and traverse the same terrain as the real workers. I've taken these boots through the bog and swamps no less than twice now, water and muck getting as high as the 5th eyelet from the bottom. One of those times, I was tracking the crew in an 8-hour stint of steady rain. My feet NEVER EVEN got damp. One feature of this boot I wasn't too sure about was the metatarsal guard. Now, I will say, if you are one that needs A LOT of free movement of the foot, this may be a turn-off. Me, however, I very much appreciate it. Don't get me wrong: I can still bend and flex my foot, but it is significantly stiffer than my previous boot; but I've found that this allows me to confidently negotiate those rougher terrains (rooted ground, ruts, rocky conditions, etc.). I feel I don't have the foot and ankle play necessary to readily contribute to an ankle strain or sprain. A combination of all of that reinforcement (toe, metatarsal guard, steel shanks) coupled with the 400 grams of insulation - the boot feels more like an armored blanket: it hugs my entire foot without confining it (yes - I am one of those tough guys that get panicky if I can't wiggle my toes). ...and I believe it is because of secure and snug fit, that I was ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHED that I did not have ANY break-in period. I wore them the first day, and every day after that. (I actually carried around by old beat-up Timberland 9" just in case I had to swap 'em out for a day or two.) And I wouldn't so much say the boot has a sole as it's got teeth. They can dig in and provide some serious purchase and promote improved balance (important for an aging fart like me because it always makes for a good laugh when the Safety Guy falls and busts his a** on the jobsite). Of course, the EH rating is a plus as well, considering my work environment. I'm not gonna lie...I still don't like that single 'pull-on' loop at the top; I miss the fold-over. But it's not worth regretting the purchase. A beast of a boot. If I live long enough, I'll be getting me another pair. Maybe they'll incorporate the fold-over by then. And my Timerbland Pro 9" boots? I refuse to throw them out. They are now my gardening boots (because that's what old linemen do - they grow their own tomatoes).

Got these for my boyfriend for Christmas, they're his new work boots. He loves the way they fit and the way they feel. He didn't even have to break them in just put them on and went. Feet felt great even after his 9 hour shift

These are BY FAR the best boots ever made by ANYONE. Incredibly comfortable , they arrived right out the box , as cushy and comfy as my AirJordans! They are waterproof, tough enough to take the elements , provide wonderful ankle and arch support and , are just plain handsome to look at. Once you got a pair of these, there’s really no need to ever buy ANYTHING else . Best boot on the market ! Hell , on the planet!

This boot saved my foot! I was working and a 24 TON tray full of rubber landed on my foot, the only thing that happened was a few broken bones. If I was wearing any other boot I would've lost my foot! Quality craftsmanship

I bought these for work. I work I a cold meat packaging plant and I have to have steel toe and tarsal guards. These boots are ok but they are very heavy and the boots cause a rub on my ankles. I wear 2 thick socks and still have a raw ankle at the end of a 10 hour day.... The money I spent on they I should have a problem with them.

these boots put my Danners to shame..if you need a heavy duty boot you can wear all day this is the one. I've worn these for hours in the rain and mud of the NW and the snow and cold of Wyoming and Montana..these are one of the few boots you can resole these days and if you take care of the leather you'll get a lot of years out of these

Disclaimer: This review is based on the pair of boots I purchased back in 2009. Boot construction may have changed since then so keep this in mind when I critique that aspect. Actually still have them, they're still in great shape and wear them for my current job as a school teacher. I bought these back in 2009 when I started working in pad construction for a drilling company in PA. There was a slight break-in period, but due to the amount of time I worked it was a non-issue. Was on my feet outside for around 14-16 hour days, about 5 or 6 days a week. These boots lasted through everything. Operating heavy equipment, walking the pad, hauling lumber to frame the pads and laying down the plastic and felt for the rig mats to sit on. My feet were always comfortable and no issues, never once did I slip walking across spills, or water, or when climbing the rigs to assist. Only things I changed was swapping out the laces and adding insoles for long walking time. Don't remember the specific insole I am using unfortunately. The original laces were fine, but wore out quickly so they were replaced with leather laces which are still operating just fine.
